ICE parades most dangerous catches to fuel massive hiring spree as 100,000 applications flood in
In the first six months of the second Trump administration, Immigration Customs and Enforcement (ICE) has arrested approximately 170,000 migrants - five times the number apprehended during the final year of Joe Biden 's administration. This dramatic acceleration in interior illegal immigration enforcement represents a staggering 400 percent arrest increase year-over-year - and there's still more than four months to go in 2025. As of today, DHS officials tell the Daily Mail they have reached over 100,000 applications from Americans who have applied for the role of deportation officer. Eager to tout their record and further juice recruitment, Department of Homeland Security sources have provided the Daily Mail details on what they characterize as some of the most serious criminal cases among those detained during their intensified enforcement operations. Among the worst convictions include murder, child sexual assault, robbery and sodomy by force. Honduran national Juan Carlos Albardo-Relles is a 42-year-old whose criminal history includes a conviction for aggravated assault of a child in Harris County, Texas. Mexican national Gabriel Figueroa-Gama, 69, taken in on Monday, was convicted of murder in Chicago. Rodolfo Sagastume-Avolos, a 50-year-old citizen from Guatemala, was arrested for intent to kill in New York. Also arrested in New York, Luis Galavis-De La Rosa, a 30-year-old from Mexico, was convicted of robbery and criminal possession of a weapon. And Guatemalan Francisco Perez-Gonzalez, 24, was apprehended in California for a conviction on sodomy by force. The Trump administration has struggled to make good on the most arduous part of their immigration crackdown: Removing migrants from the country. Deportations have been hampered by limited resources and a court system that has regularly halted removals for lack of due process granted to detainees. Times for deportations can vary widely depending on where the immigrant is in their proceedings. DHS sources say another criminal, 24-year-old Victor Martinez-Hernandez was also arrested on the same day. Martinez-Hernandez murdered and raped Rachel Morin while she was on a hiking trail in Bel Air, Maryland back in the summer of 2023. According to records, he brutally battered her with rocks and strangled her before hiding her body. The high-profile case further sparked intense immigration debate across the country. 'Just yesterday, Rachel Morin's murderer—an illegal alien from El Salvador—was convicted and sentenced to life in prison without parole. The same day, ICE arrested a murderer, pedophiles, and sexual predators,' Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told the Daily Mail. The release of these faces to the public comes at the same time the president is looking to hire an additional 10,000 ICE officers to fulfill his large-scale deportation plans that have been hamstrung by a lack of resources. J ob postings remain open to the public, despite the waterfall of applications. One listing shows that ICE is hiring deportation officers in 25 cities who will arrest and deport migrants, conduct routine interviews and perform other law enforcement support duties like taking fingerprints and photographs as well as preparing investigative reports. The listed salary ranges from $49,739 to $89,528 annually. The cities the deportation officers could work in include Washington, D.C., Baltimore and Miami Beach, Florida.

Portland charter school is set to flee its premises after enduring months of nightly immigration riots at nearby ICE facility
A Portland charter school says it is being forced to relocate after enduring months of protests at a nearby ICE facility. The Cottonwood School of Civics and Science has been subjected to near-nightly riots due to its proximity to the Portland ICE field office. Video from demonstrations shows smoke grenades and tear gas being launched on several occasions as police and ICE agents clash on the streets. School officials say that the use of the devices is one of the main reasons they want to move the state-funded institution. However, they are encouraging protesters to continue their actions and instead condemned ICE for using 'munitions' on the demonstrators. 'We encourage you to advocate not just for our school and students, but for everyone impacted by the ongoing violence,' the school said in a statement. 'Your support and continuation to apply pressure on district officials regarding munitions use in the city, will not only benefit us, but the entire community.' The protests near the Portland ICE field office escalated in recent months in response to President Trump's immigration crackdown. In June, Homeland Security shared footage on social media showing hostile confrontations between police and ICE agents, and anti-ICE demonstrators. The clip showed protesters throwing explosives to attack the agents while trying to break into the facility. 'Rioters launched fireworks, shined lasers in officers' eyes to temporarily blind them, and stormed an ICE field office,' the DHS said on X. 'We won't sit idly by and watch these cowards.' Officials said five people were arrested on various charges including assault on federal law enforcement following the violence on June 19. 'Our officers are facing a 413% increase in assaults against them as they put their lives on the line to arrest murderers, rapists, and gang members,' the DHS added. 'Secretary Noem's message to the rioters is clear: you will not stop us or slow us down. 'ICE and our federal law enforcement partners will continue to enforce the law. And if you lay a hand on a law enforcement officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.' Last night, Portland rioters violently targeted federal law enforcement— 250 rioters launched fireworks, shined lasers in officers' eyes to temporarily blind them, and stormed an ICE field office. Ultimately, five individuals were arrested on various charges including assault on… — Homeland Security (@DHSgov) June 19, 2025 Scrutiny on ICE operations comes weeks after Trump escalated his immigration clampdown in the wake of the passage of his 'Big Beautiful Bill', which dramatically increased funding to the agency. The president directed federal law enforcement officials to use 'whatever means necessary' to arrest anyone who throws rocks or other projectiles at ICE agents during immigration raids, such as those seen in Portland. 'I am on my way back from Texas, and watched in disbelief as THUGS were violently throwing rocks and bricks at ICE Officers while they were moving down a roadway in their car,' Trump posted. He appeared to be referring to footage of protestors violently clashing with ICE agents during the raid of a cannabis farm in Camarillo, a city in Southern California. The raid, despite the chaos, resulted in 200 migrant workers being detained. This included some juveniles who authorities say were illegally working on the farm. 'Therefore, I am directing Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, and Border Czar, Tom Homan, to instruct all ICE, Homeland Security, or any other Law Enforcement Officer who is on the receiving end of thrown rocks, bricks, or any other form of assault, to stop their car, and arrest these SLIMEBALLS, using whatever means is necessary to do so,' he continued. 'I am giving Total Authorization for ICE to protect itself, just like they protect the Public. I never want to see a car (sic) carrying a Law Enforcement Officer attacked again!'

Horror moment immigration cops handcuff disabled boy sitting in car with his nan
Gut wrenching images show the moment US immigration officers armed with guns handcuff a disabled teenager outside a school as Trump's ICE officers continue their rampage Horrifying video captures the moment armed American Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers detained a 15-year-old disabled student who was sitting in a parked car with his grandma over a case of 'mistaken identity'. Immigration officers approached the car with drawn guns at the disabled teenager who was waiting to take part in a school orientation at Arleta High School in Los Angeles at 9.30am on Monday - just days after schools in LA went back to class after summer break. The special needs boy was waiting in the car with his elderly grandmother, waiting for his family member to return from registering for classes. It comes as Donald Trump recently reignited his feud with Sadiq Khan in front of Keir Starmer, with a savage jibe at the London Mayor. Insisting they were not from ICE, the officers began surrounding the vehicle before getting the innocent teenager into handcuffs. Despite their insistence, video footage reviewed by the district claims to show both police and border patrol officers at the scene. The moment of madness finally came to an end when staff from the school, along with an LA police officer, intervened. Speaking at a news conference, superintendent Alberto Carvalho stressed how serious the incident had been. He said: 'The release will not release him from what he experienced. 'The trauma will linger. It will not cease. It is unacceptable, not only in our community, but anywhere in America. As our students return to school, we are calling on every community partner to help ensure that classrooms remain places of learning and belonging, 'Children have been through enough - from the pandemic to natural disasters. They should not have to carry the added weight of fear when walking through their school gates.' After the incident, parents of non-white children in the school district are understandably concerned - with worries that ICE are targeting people regardless of their actual immigration status. Speaking to KTLA, one worried local parent, Yvonne, said: 'He fits that category. Where he's on the darker side, and I feel like that's who they're attacking… that's the main reason I tell him you better be careful and you don't go with anybody. We shouldn't be going through this.' After the incident, local mayor Karen Bass held a press conference with a pretty damning tone. She said: 'We are gathered here today to talk about protecting our children from the federal government. This is a profound moment… the fact that we even need a press conference to talk about strategies for how we protect our kids.' A LA school district board member agreed that mind-blowing scenes of 'violently detaining a child' are 'absolutely reprehensible and should have no place in our country,'. The frightening scenes come as a result of Trump's 'One Big Beautiful Bill', which granted $170 billion to ICE and is rumoured to have set the department's quotas of 1,200 to 1,500 arrests every single day. Because of their outlandish tactics, LA schools have rerouted bus stops, sent 1,000 office staff to assist in school zones and even offered online learning for those fearing arrest if they go to school. Deployed 1,000 central office staff to assist in school zones and increased online learning options for those too scared to leave their houses.
