Chennai, Aug 2 (PTI) Popular Tamil film actor Madhan Bob, who entertained film fans through his characteristic laughter and amusing expressions, is no more. He died due to health-related issues on Saturday, a source close to his family said.
He was 71. He has been battling cancer, and he breathed his last at his Adyar residence this evening.
Known by his professional name as Madhan Bob, S Krishnamoorthy was the eighth child in his family. He had shared the screen space along with leading actors like Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Ajith, Surya, and Vijay.
He had appeared in the popular Sun TV comedy show 'Asatha Povathu Yaaru?" as one of the judges. He was a versatile actor musician.

Popular South Korean actor Song Young-Kyu found dead
Last Updated: New Delhi, Aug 4 (PTI) Veteran South Korean actor Song Young-Kyu, known for his roles in popular K-dramas like 'Big Bet", 'Hwarang" and 'Hot Stove League", has been found dead inside a vehicle days after he was caught into a DUI scandal. The 55-year-old was reportedly found dead in a car on Sunday at a townhouse complex in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. An investigation has been launched by the Yongin Eastern Police Station. His cause of death remains unknown, local news website Koreaboo reported. The actor was arrested for drunk driving on June 19 with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 percent. The incident caused Song to be removed from several acting roles like ENA's 'The Defects", SBS's 'The Winning Try" and stage play 'Shakespeare In Love". 'The Defects" which he had already shot for, issued a statement which stated that his screen time would be restricted following the controversy. Song is survived by his wife and two daughters. In South Korea, celebrities are held to a higher moral grounds and controversies often lead to heavy scrutiny and impact on career. There's been a flurry of buzz that global icon Priyanka Chopra may appear in a special number in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's epic period drama Love & War, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. But while fans are already envisioning a grand dance sequence dripping with Bhansali's signature opulence, a source close to the director has thrown cold water on the speculation. Speaking to journalist Subhash K. Jha for Bollywood Hungama, the source dismissed the chatter altogether, calling it 'the absurdest rumour in the history of Bollywood gossip." The insider elaborated: 'True, Priyanka had done a special song in Bhansali's Goliyon Ki Raas Leela: Ram Leela. But that was done as a favour after Aishwarya Rai, who was supposed to do the number, backed out at the eleventh hour." The source continued, 'Priyanka did the Ram Leela song and dance on condition that she will be cast as the leading lady in Bhansali's next. The promise was not kept and there was a big fallout between the two. So no, Priyanka is not doing anything in Love & War." However, the denial stands in direct contrast to what another source previously told Hindustan Times. According to that insider, Priyanka 'may feature in a high-octane special number in the period war drama," and while 'nothing has been officially signed yet," discussions are reportedly underway. The source even hinted that Priyanka's recent social media post may have been 'a subtle nod to something on the horizon." If the deal materialises, it would mark Chopra's grand return to Hindi cinema, and that too with the filmmaker behind one of her most iconic dance sequences, 'Ram Chahe Leela." Love & War is currently in production and is slated for a theatrical release on March 20, 2026. Reports suggest Bhansali is mounting it on an epic scale, with a face-off between Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal that insiders believe 'could rival some of the most iconic scenes in Indian cinema history." Meanwhile, Priyanka is already confirmed for SSMB29, an ambitious pan-India action-adventure directed by SS Rajamouli. Mohit Suri Reacts To Aneet Padda's 'Sharam Aa Rahi' Video: 'It Was The Most...'

Saiyaara star Aneet Padda was recently spotted at the Mumbai airport, but unlike other actors, she refused to pose for paparazzi, claiming that she felt shy. While some found Aneet charming, others criticised her. Amid this, director Mohit Suri defended the actress in a chat with Zoom. He lauded Aneet for being honest and vulnerable. Mohit Suri said, 'The only thing I always told Aneet was to be honest, I said you are perfect as you are, and there is no right thing to say. When she had asked me if I wanted to tell them I was feeling shy? I said, 'Say it.'" He added, 'We have become a generation that is supposed to have the answers. What's wrong with being vulnerable? She went there, and when they were clicking, she said 'mujhe sharam aa rahi hai', and I think it was the most honest thing to be, rather than pretend to be what you are not." He further added, 'We have all been told to pretend and told to wear these clothes and costumes when we go to catch a flight or to the gym. I told her to be who she is. We have tried to be honest all through this film; people think the viral videos in the theatres were created, but we have not done that." Mohit Suri also reflected on keeping Aneet Padda and Ahaan Panday away from the shutterbugs before Saiyaara's release. 'I wanted Aneet and Ahaan to be judged for their art and not for their personal lives. Yashraj also had the same belief, so we backed them with a trailer, a song, so that they had the arm, other than people judging them on their hairstyle and clothes. They are artist, they are supposed to act, emote, not supposed to dress well and be fashionable," Mohit Suri shared. The filmmaker added that he is yet to explore Aneet and Ahaan's full potential. He said, 'There is a lighter side to Aneet and Ahaan, which was not there in Saiyaara at all. The first thing I told them was to go out and laugh, have fun, and stop playing these mature parts. Don't you dare cry, Aneet, in your next film; even Ahaan can dance, do action, and more. I just brought them into the world, now they are going to fly." Meanwhile, Saiyaara follows the journey of Krish Kapoor, a struggling musician, and Vaani Batra, a soulful poet, as they navigate themes of love, loss, and healing. The chemistry between Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda has been widely praised, marking a successful debut for both actors.
