The internet has shared in a joyous moment between a couple as a man saw his girlfriend's natural hair for the first time, and appeared to instantly fall in love again.
Jessica Machado, 25, a model originally from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, now lives in Los Angeles, with her long-term boyfriend Nikolai Chuprovskii, 37, originally from Krasnodar in Russia.
The couple have been together for over two years, after a meet-cute while she was working as a waitress and he asked if they served ice cream—which they did, but as a new staff member, Machado didn't know this, and told him they didn't. And so her future boyfriend walked away, ice cream-less.
But Chuprovskii returned to the restaurant, this time asking for her number—and they've been together ever since.
Machado knew there was something special when she let slip it was a dream of hers to go to Disneyland, and that she was working two jobs to help save money to visit, and "he bought the tickets that same day."
"That moment showed me that when someone truly wants you, they'll do anything to make you happy," she told Newsweek.
That said, Machado admits their relationship "comes with its fair share of challenges."
"Interracial, intercultural, and multilingual," she said. "We speak different native languages—Portuguese and Russian—and neither of us is fluent in English. I have a bit more experience with it, so we're constantly learning and improving together.
"It's not always easy, but it's made our bond stronger and our communication more intentional."
Now Machado and Chuprovskii's relationship has gone viral for the sweetest reason, after she recorded the moment he saw her with her natural hair for the first time ever.

In a video to her TikTok account, @justfyj, posted in July and boasting more than 5 million views, she showed herself in the bathroom having taken out her braids, when Chuprovskii suddenly appeared in the doorway.
She wrote: "POV [point of view]: My boyfriend seeing my natural hair for the first time after I took out my braids."
Machado turns to him, and he stares wordlessly at her, taking it all in. And as she starts laughing, a smile breaks across his face, and he slowly walks over to her and brings her in for a hug.
"He acted like he's never seen me before," she wrote in the caption.
Machado told Newsweek: "That moment reminded me why, for so long, I struggled to accept my natural hair. Growing up, I was always told it was 'too difficult to manage.' But now, I see it as a beautiful part of who I am.
"As many Black women know, our hair carries emotional and cultural weight. So for him not just to accept it, but to celebrate it, meant the world to me. He's truly a sweetheart."

According to a 2016 study from The Perception Institute, one in five Black women felt social pressure to straighten their hair for work, and the majority of participants showed implicit bias against Black women's textured hair. The study, which questioned 4,163 participants in the United States, found that Black women perceived a level of social stigma against their natural hair.
TikTok users loved the sweet insight into their relationship, awarding the video more than 600,000 likes, one commenter writing: "He literally fell in love again."
"Did we just witness him falling in love again?" another asked, while one pointed out: "He had to lean back to admire the beauty."
One predicted Chuprovskii "went ring shopping the very next day," as another predicted: "He's going to propose in about six months. I called it!"
And as one moved commenter wrote: "That look would have healed my inner little girl."
Machado, who also posts to Instagram under the username @ijessmach, told Newsweek she "never expected the video to go viral," describing it as a "complete shock."
"I didn't think his reaction would touch so many people. Seeing so many comments from people saying they dream of this kind of love... it's a powerful reminder of how rare and beautiful mutual respect and affection are.
"We're definitely not perfect, but we're very real, rooted in love, friendship, and lots of laughs."

Showy bride's surprise performance at Las Vegas ceremony chases ‘shy' groom away: ‘He was calling for help'
Here comes the bride — and off goes the groom! Singer and content creator Ortal Edri shared a video on TikTok of her Las Vegas ceremony that took place at Graceland Wedding Chapel, which included a live performance of her singing Elvis Presley's famous hit 'Can't Help Falling in Love' and Mariah Carey's 'My All.' Between the bride's bold vocals and the Elvis impersonator jamming out — this was enough of a scene to send the 'camera-shy' groom disappearing in the background, which has left people online feeling some type of way. In the caption, Edri explains that she surprised her 'shy husband' with his favorite Elvis song, but she says that she had to 'chase him down the chapel because he disappeared' on her. 'My husband is definitely shy and doesn't enjoy being in the spotlight — unlike me, I absolutely love it!' the blushing bride told People in an interview. 'To be honest, he also had a bit too much to drink before the ceremony, so he was a little tipsy. Combine that with the pressure and all the excitement. As for what was going through his mind — probably not much in that exact moment. He just went with what he was feeling.' She also said that the awkward vibe was mostly due to the last-minute marriage ceremony. 'The truth is, from the moment Shamir proposed until the wedding itself, everything happened so fast,' the bride said in the interview, revealing that her fiancé proposed only a short few days before they said 'I do' in Sin City. The video saw Edri dragging her husband-to-be back into the hot seat. Ortal Edri, / TikTok Watching the cringeworthy video was enough to send people straight to the comment section to share their unsolicited opinions. Others wondered why the ceremony was so empty, but the bride said four days' notice didn't leave families and friends a ton of time to fly in for the affair. Ortal Edri, / TikTok 'I understand you're getting married, but is he?' wondered one TikTok user, while another wrote: 'Imagine being shy and your wife comes out here hooting and hollering.' 'The phone in his hand like he was calling for help, but it was too late,' said a commiserating commenter, prompting another reply to offer a helping hand: 'Bro, blink twice if you need help.' While some users busied themselves over-analyzing the duo's dynamic and celebrating the bride's confidence, a majority of TikTok comments attempted to summon popular comedy creator Madison Humphrey, who swifty recreated a parody of the viral moment — with Edri's superimposed vocals. Despite all the noise, Edri maintains that she and her husband loved their spontaneous Sin City ceremony, and some viewers did concede in the comments that her songs were a sweet gesture — they certainly indicated her 'Burning Love' for him in true Elvis fashion. As nervewracking nuptials go, this awkward watch barely skims the surface. At the very least, Edri didn't have a wedding cake smashed in her face by a moody mother-in-law like another recent bride — though the buttercream-laden bride's new hubby also seemed to flee the scene, much like the Sin City singer's.

Doja Cat unveils new look, mocks Sydney Sweeney ad before Outside Lands
Ahead of her headlining set at Outside Lands in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, Doja Cat unveiled a vintage-style hotline and striking new look to promote her forthcoming album 'Vie.' Callers to 747-246-7262 are greeted by the Grammy winner's sultry voice, offering tongue-in-cheek relationship advice. 'Love is complicated, but calling us isn't,' she says. 'A place for the lovers who feel too much, too fast, too often… I'm no couples therapist, but I do have some opinions.' In a nod to her upcoming single, 'Jealous Type,' listeners are prompted to press 1 for commentary on jealousy — 'You're passionate, you're furious, maybe just a little unhinged,' she offers — or 2 for thoughts on location-sharing in relationships. 'If it feels like a leash,' she advises, 'time to set some boundaries or maybe just block them.' The hotline's launch on Thursday, Aug. 7, also includes a bold visual transformation. Teasing 'Vie,' the 29-year-old artist appears nearly unrecognizable, channeling a dreamlike 1980s madam, with platinum blonde waves, exaggerated shoulder pads and bright blue eyeshadow. 'I feel like I've just been inspired mostly by the '80s a lot lately,' she told reporters at this year's Met Gala, where she first previewed 'Jealous Type' in a Marc Jacobs collaboration. The new single, produced by fellow Outside Lands performer Jack Antonoff of Bleachers and Ari Starace, does not yet have a release date, nor does 'Vie,' which Doja Cat has described as a more pop-forward follow-up to 2023's 'Scarlet.' Meanwhile, the artist jumped into the online discourse last week with a viral TikTok parody mocking Sydney Sweeney's controversial American Eagle ad. The clothing campaign, which features Sweeney alongside the tagline 'great jeans,' drew criticism for evoking the language of eugenics. In her spoof, Doja Cat mimics Sweeney's monologue in an exaggerated Southern accent. She captioned the clip, 'my jeans are blee.' It has racked up more than 33 million views. Doja Cat, known for hits like 'Need to Know' and 'Paint the Town Red,' has earned 16 Grammy nominations and won her first in 2022 for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with the song 'Kiss Me More,' featuring SZA. But she isn't the only Outside Lands performer channeling hotline energy. 'It's cocky, and it's a little petty in the cutest way,' the Ethiopian-Sudanese artist said in a statement. 'Your haters are always your biggest fans.'

WWE Superstar Debunks Strange Rumor
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. WWE Raw superstar Ivy Nile has a new look, and she is making it clear that the change was entirely her own decision. In a new interview, she addressed the viral reaction to her recent hairstyle change and shut down any rumors that she was told to do it by the company. Speaking with Chris Van Vliet on his Insight podcast, the powerhouse of the American Made faction explained the simple reason behind her dramatic transformation. A Viral Hair Debut For years, Ivy Nile has been known for her signature tight boxer braids, a look that perfectly matched her intense, athletic persona. She recently debuted a new style, letting her hair down in long, wavy blonde locks, a change that immediately got the wrestling world talking. "Ever since I debuted in wrestling, it's been just braids," Nile explained. "And you know, I just—I don't know. It's just like—I just thought of it one day and I did it." She was firm in stating that the decision was hers alone. "No one told me to do braids, by the way," she said. "The braids were my idea, and this was my idea." The change was an immediate hit with fans, a fact Nile proudly noted: "And my hair debut went viral, by the way." WWE/Getty Images More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match The Pitbull of Diamond Mine Ivy Nile first rose to prominence in NXT as the sole female member of the Diamond Mine faction. Known as the "Pitbull" of the group, her character was built on her incredible physique, legitimate athletic background, and no-nonsense, submission-based in-ring style. Her braided hair was a key part of that tough, athletic presentation, making her recent style change all the more dramatic. The change in appearance often signals a change in character or a renewed push for a superstar. This has led to widespread fan speculation that Nile could be on the verge of a major storyline. Stepping Up in American Made Nile is currently a member of the American Made faction on Monday Night Raw, alongside The Creed Brothers. The group was led by Chad Gable until he was sidelined with a major rotator cuff injury in June. In Gable's absence, Nile has been forced to step up and has been featured more prominently in backstage segments as the new public face of the group. While she has mostly been in a non-wrestling role on Raw, she did recently compete in the battle royal at the Evolution premium live event. With a bold new look and a more prominent role, the future looks bright for "The Pitbull." More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.
