Play began at 6:35am for the opening round and tee times will be brought forward on Saturday.
That is because of a band parade that is scheduled to take place in Portrush.
It is expected 70 bands and 2,000 people will descend on the town in an event organised by Portrush Sons of Ulster.
It will take place in the evening, at which time the golf will be complete for the day.

That is because times will shift forward by around 15 minutes according to the chief executive of the Royal & Ancient (R&A), Mark Darbon.
Mr Darbon said, as organisers, they are "guests in the community" - albeit 275,000 in number.
He said at a press conference: "We recognise that when we bring The Open
Championship
to town, we are a guest in the community in which we operate.
"On many occasions, there are concurrent events that take place around the action that we are very focused on here, within the rules of the venue.

"So, recognising the events that are taking place on Saturday, we have worked collaboratively with the organisers and across multi-agency groups to ensure, primarily, both events can run as seamlessly as possible.
"We are making a slight tweak to tee times to try and finish - it's not dramatic, maybe 15 minutes or so earlier.

"At the same time, this is an outdoor sport; the

can play a big role.
"It's very difficult to be precise on finishing times, but we are looking at some marginal adjustments."

Bundee Aki's baby born in car just before test kick-off

Connacht rugby star Bundee Aki has become a father again after his wife Kayla gave birth to their fifth child in a car on her way to the hospital before the first Test of the series. The rugby international has been based in Australia in recent weeks as he lined out for the British & Irish Lions while his wife and their children were in their native of New Zealand. As a couple of the Irish lads decided to stay in Oz for some rest and relaxation, Bundee was straight over to New Zealand to meet his fifth child. Bundee Aki. Pic: Brendan Moran/Sportsfile Earlier this year, Bundee and his wife Kayla announced they were expecting baby number five, with the couple already having three girls and one son. Speaking following the end of the test series against Australia, Bundee revealed his child had arrived with Kayla giving birth in the car on the way to the hospital. He said: 'The missus calls me and she's like, 'Water hasn't broke but I'm going to the hospital, I'm feeling contractions.' She goes to the hospital, we're getting ready for the team meeting pre-match, and then she calls me and says she's on the way to the hospital. Bundee Aki with his family. Pic: INPHO/Dan Sheridan 'Five minutes later, she sends a photo, her water broke. This is like 30 or 40 minutes away from the hospital. Ten minutes later, she video calls me. 'I saw a baby on the video call, so she had it in the car on the way to the hospital.' Bundee then had to play in the opening Test against Australia in Brisbane with Andy Farrell's side winning 27-19. The father-of-five admitted he 'knew' the match would be successful. The couple also share Armani-Jade, Adrianna, Ailbhe and Adronicus.

Cameron Young eases to his first PGA Tour win in North Carolina

American Cameron Young romped to the first PGA Tour title of his career with a six-stroke victory in the Wyndham Championship in Greensboro, North Carolina. Ireland Seamus Power had an up and down round of 71 to finish the tournament on -4. It was Power's worst round of the tournament and featured five bogeys and four birdies and he ended up with a share of 44th place. Young, who finished runner-up at the Open in 2022, carded a two-under 68 in his final round to finish 22 under par, comfortably ahead of compatriot Mac Meissner. Resuming with a five-shot overnight lead on 20 under par for the tournament at Sedgefield Country Club, Young emphatically recovered from a bogey on hole one. The 28-year-old sunk five successive birdies and then made par on the next nine holes to remain in complete control. Despite two bogeys on the final three holes, Young became the 1,000th unique winner on the PGA Tour, as well as the 12th first-time champion this year. Runner-up Meissner finished on 16 under following a four-under 66 on day four. Fellow American Mark Hubbard and Sweden's Alex Noren came joint third on 15 under par. Aaron Rai, the defending champion, ended tied for fifth alongside Chris Kirk and amateur Jackson Koivun after finishing with a birdie in a two-under 68. Former US Open champion Matt Fitzpatrick, who carded 67 on Sunday, was among a trio of players tied for eighth place on 13 under. Colombia's Nico Echavarria, who began the day in second place, plummeted to joint 19th position following a five-over final round of 75.

Dublin delivered 'over and beyond' says joint manager Paul Casey

It's not often that it all comes together on All-Ireland final day but it did for Dublin. "Over and beyond" was joint Dublin manager Paul Casey's summary of how just about every single Dublin player delivered. Defensively, Dublin conceded just four points from play. At the other end, they had enough scores racked up to lead by 13 points after 23 minutes. And all in what was the very first final contested under the new joint management of former Dublin footballers Casey and Derek Murray. "We knew when we met them this morning that they were ready for it," said Casey. "They had a pep in their step and they came into Croke Park bouncing. But it's nothing like the way they're going to leave here tonight! "It's a day when you're hoping that all your big names and stars will turn up and give a performance and I think that they went over and beyond in terms of that. It was fantastic." Dublin joint manager Paul Casey celebrates with his children Luke, age seven, and Lucy, age 4. Pic: Seb Daly/Sportsfile. Truth be told, Dublin were there for the taking at times in this year's Championship. Certainly they lived on their wits, requiring a late, late Kate Sullivan score to draw with Waterford in Dungarvan. Hannah Tyrrell bailed them out with her free from the edge of the men's 40m arc in the semi-final against Galway, forcing extra-time that evening. And back on Leinster final day, Dublin had to reel off eight late points in a row to secure a four-point win, and the 12-in-a-row, at Meath's expense. So this was by a long way their best display of the year. "I think it was, yeah, absolutely," said Casey. "We saw it in patches before this. When we played Meath in Parnell Park back in the league, we were really, really good in that one. "And I think the last game, the All-Ireland semi-final, brought us on a lot. We really had to dig deep that day. We probably didn't play the football we wanted to but we were just superb out there today. "At times, their composure on the ball, the scores they got, their conversion rate must have been up around 80 percent. It was excellent. "But I thought defensively, and when I talk about defensively I mean from number 15 back to Abby in goals, they were superb. The full-back line, Jess Tobin, Leah Caffrey, Niamh Crowley, all brilliant. Niamh Donlon we actually thought we had lost last weekend, she had a bit of a nick in her groin. So to go out and give that performance was superb. "But it was all over the pitch. I think everybody played close to their best. To do that on this day of all days is very, very satisfying." Casey had special praise for Player of the Match Orlagh Nolan. It was her first start of the year after an ACL injury last year. "When we were up in Clonshaugh and Craobh Chiarain, in the dark and the muck, Orlagh was in the gym and working so hard to come back. She always did it with a smile on her face. "Her composure on the ball out there at crucial times, she was superb. We saw that when she came on in the semi-final against Galway. She's a fantastic footballer, so hopefully she can put all those injury problems behind her."
