A DRIVER has died in a crash during a race at Donington Park circuit in Leicestershire.
Julian Grimwade sadly died after an accident during the Vintage Motorsport Festival on Saturday.

He previously served as Vice Chairman of Members at the Brookland Museum, and starred in the 2021 TV series Secrets of the Transport Museum.
The accident occurred during Julian's first lap, when he crashed his Oakland Romano Special.
National governing body Motorsport UK said that it joined "the entire UK motorsport community in mourning".
A police spokesperson said: "Police were notified of a single vehicle collision at a licensed track day at Donington Park yesterday (24 May).
"The driver of the vehicle – a man in his 70s – was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
"Enquiries are continuing on behalf of HM Coroner. Identification of the deceased is a matter for the coroner."
Leicestershire Police confirmed that no criminal investigation was underway.
Driver Dai Roberts also tragically passed away yesterday following a separate incident at the Jim Clark Rally.

The Reddit post said the booth attendant made the driver shift to neutral and wait as they meticulously counted the coins - while warning that any attempt to leave before tallying was complete would see police called in, reports Bristol Live. The Reddit post continued: "He pouted the entire time while I stacked pennies, and, accidentally knocked them over, having to start again a couple times." At the end of the ordeal, the Reddit post said the toll operator realised the motorist had overpaid and presented the surplus back, saying: "He was over by 20p. I gave it back to him and said: 'Here's your change. Aren't you glad you waited?'" People on Reddit thought the apparent move was inspired. One user said: "'Aren't you glad you waited' is the kind of thing you usually think about after and kick yourself for not getting to use it." Another person said: "Petty at its finest." The daring operation saw a fired up Ukraine wreck 41 Russian planes across the strategic airfields. Putin's doomsday bomber fleet was crippled with a third of his most prized aircraft lying in smouldering wrecks. It comes as a new report accused Putin of plotting a final killer offensive along three fronts to win the war this summer. The Russian army is nearing one million casualties in its bungled three-year-old invasion as peace talks continue to stall. Now, some 125,000 Russian soldiers are reportedly right now massing along the Sumy and Kharkiv frontiers, according to Ukraine's military intelligence. Over the past fortnight border villages have fallen to Russia as it is may to be preparing the ground for the offensive. But some senior commanders in Ukraine believe that could be a feint and Russia is actually preparing to attack further south to push further into the Donbas, Ukraine Pravda reports. But medics were unable to save Illan and he tragically died on Tuesday. Jeunesse Villenavaise cancelled training the following day while providing counselling for players. And they confirmed Ilan's sad passing in a heartbreaking statement on social media.
