Google commits to buy 200MW from forthcoming Chesterfield fusion plant

Fusion energy's promise of clean, limitless energy is becoming even more critical in the era of AI, which requires massive computational power. Google and Commonwealth Fusion Systems are working together to bring secure fusion power to market.
Devens, Massachusetts-based CFS said Monday it deepened an ongoing relationship with AI giant Google, the prominent subsidiary of Mountain View, California-based Alphabet Inc. (NASDAQ: GOOG), which is set to buy 200 megawatts of clean fusion power from CFS. The power will be produced at the company's forthcoming fusion plant coming to Chesterfield County that was announced late last year.

Aquablation® Therapy's Assigned Category I Code in 2026 Medicare Proposed Physician Fee Schedule

SAN JOSE, Calif., July 14, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- PROCEPT BioRobotics® Corporation (Nasdaq: PRCT) (the 'Company'), a surgical robotics company dedicated to advancing patient care through transformative urology solutions, today announced that Aquablation therapy was assigned a Category I code effective January 1, 2026. The 2026 Medicare Proposed Physician Fee Schedule (PFS) includes payment rates for a new Category I Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code related to Aquablation therapy. Category I CPT code 52XX1 will replace Category III CPT code 0421T as the primary code for Aquablation therapy. 'Securing a Category I CPT Code marks a major milestone for PROCEPT, the urology community, and the patients we serve,' said Sham Shiblaq, chief commercial officer of PROCEPT BioRobotics. 'This transition recognizes the clinical value and widespread use of Aquablation therapy as we continue to make progress toward becoming the BPH surgical standard of care. The Category I code will further support surgeon adoption and broaden patient access to a treatment that delivers durable symptom relief with a low risk of sexual side effects.' The new CPT Category I Code 52XX1 was assigned a 2026 national Medicare physician proposed payment of 16.14 total RVUs which translates to an approximate national average of $540, under the 2026 proposed Medicare PFS. By comparison, TURP was assigned 15.82 total RVUs which translate to an approximate national average of $529. The PFS Proposed Rule was released on July 14, 2025, and updated payment policies and payment rates for services will be provided for Medicare beneficiaries on or after January 1, 2026. The Proposed Rule release is followed by a public comment period that will close in September 2025 and will culminate in CMS' release of the Final Rule, which is expected to be announced in November 2025 for implementation on January 1, 2026. The Proposed Rule is therefore subject to change. These 2026 proposed rule payment values and RVU assignments can be viewed on the CMS website at: About Aquablation TherapyAquablation therapy is the first and only ultrasound guided, robotic-assisted, heat-free waterjet for the treatment of BPH. The system's real-time ultrasound imaging provides the surgeon with a multi-dimensional view of the prostate enabling personalized treatment planning tailored to each patient's unique anatomy. The surgeon can specify which areas of the prostate to remove while preserving the anatomy that controls erectile function, ejaculatory function and continence. Once the treatment plan is mapped by the surgeon, the predictable robotic-assisted execution enables prostate tissue to be removed in a precise, targeted and controlled fashion. About PROCEPT BioRobotics CorporationPROCEPT BioRobotics is a surgical robotics company focused on advancing patient care by developing transformative solutions in urology. PROCEPT BioRobotics manufactures the AQUABEAM® and HYDROS™ Robotic Systems. The HYDROS Robotic System is the only AI-powered, robotic technology that delivers Aquablation therapy. PROCEPT BioRobotics designed Aquablation therapy to deliver effective, safe, and durable outcomes for males suffering from lower urinary tract symptoms or LUTS, due to BPH that are independent of prostate size and shape or surgeon experience. BPH is the most common prostate disease and impacts approximately 40 million men in the United States. Manteca neighborhood rallies against gas station, fast food restaurant being built in community

Take a stroll down any street in Woodward Park in Manteca and you may see signs that say, "Woodward Park: Clean Air, Safe Streets, No Gas Here." That's because on the corner of East Woodward Avenue and Pillsbury Road, a new 24-hour AM/PM gas station and fast food restaurant may be built in the heart of their neighborhood. One community group is now trying to stop it. "I just decided to start a Facebook group," said Johanna Titus, organizer of the Woodward Park United Against Gas Station group. "Maybe we could organize and get together and start like a little bit of a grassroots effort to see what we can do about not getting the gas station in our neighborhood." Titus is one of the main organizers of this grassroots effort. After going door to door and creating her own online petition, she's received over 1,000 signatures asking the city to make a change. "There are so many gas stations in this town, but no other gas stations are smack dab in the middle of a residential area, like this one, without any other commercial or retail spaces surrounding it," she said. The group's main concerns are increased traffic, noise, loitering and health risks. For a city that already has over 30 gas stations and 10 more planned to open, she and the group believe another gas station isn't necessary. "In the city's own definition of commercial mixed use, it's a place where neighbors can go and hang out and gather. Last time I checked, I don't go to gas stations to hang out, but that's just me," Titus shared. Now, they're asking the city and developer to conduct a full environmental review, change the zoning, or cancel the project altogether. "Maybe change some of the guidelines and make it more strict for gas stations, especially in residential areas with parks and children, elderly," she continued. "Hopefully, in the end, we can get them to either stall this or get the proper environmental report done and see if it's truly safe for our neighborhood." CBS Sacramento reached out to the city for comment, but they said that since there are no updates on this project, they will not be providing a statement. However, they said they are aware of this campaign and are in touch with the organizers.

Google Workspace is getting AI helpers called Gems. Here's how to use them.

Gems, Google's AI experts that can be customised to a specific task, are rolling out in Workspace. Available in the Gemini app, Gems will now also appear in a side panel in Google Docs, Sheets, Drive, Slides, and Gmail — the latest in a number of big AI updates in Workspace. Although the side panel will be populated with pre-made Gems (uncut, if you will), users can also create their own tailored AI helper. If you're not really sure why you'd need one of these things, Google has a few examples in its blog post: You may want to "leverage an 'assistant Gem' tailored to your job role to help provide more relevant summaries for you and content for internal communications," for instance, or you could "create a Gem that helps with sales interactions that is grounded on information for a specific company, prospect, or industry." How to use Gems Gems can be accessed in Workspace by clicking on the "Ask Gemini" spark button in the top right of a document. This opens up a panel which contains both pre-loaded Gems and the option to "Create a Gem" (Google has a separate help doc on how to do this). It's worth noting that you may not see Gems right away, though — the rollout started on Wednesday, but Google says it may be "potentially longer than 15 days for feature visibility". Google has been expanding Gemini in a bunch of ways recently, with the AI autogenerating email summaries in Gmail, integrating into your car, watch, and TV, and being added to Chrome. Google AI has also been struggling a bit with certain basic questions, mind you, so tread carefully.
