La Fiamma's women's team stars in Perth at the Women's League Cup
The squad faced Wanneroo in their first game in the Women's League Cup last weekend. Wanneroo were coming off clean sheet wins — 12-0 win in their first game and a 5-0 win in their second game.
It was a quick start from La Fiamma with Chilean player Monse Fernandez scoring in the first three minutes, shocking the opposition in the process.
Macie Gray scored the second goal for La Fiamma in the 10th minute extending their lead to 2-0 early in the piece, well and truly putting Wanneroo on the back foot.
Indiana Burns came through in the 18th minute with a goal, with Olivia Bidwell following up in the 31st minute and Cassie Green in the 33rd minute, making it 5-0 to La Fiamma.
With a 5-0 lead at half-time La Fiamma jumped out the blocks in the second half with a Bidwell goal in the 46th minute.
Fernandez found the back of the net once more in the 54th minute, drawing La Fiamma's lead out to 7-0 and piling more scoreboard pressure onto Wanneroo.
Bidwell scored her hat-trick in the 79th minute just a day after her game for Towns back home.
In the final minute Paige Carslake scored the final goal for La Fiamma, finishing 9-0 victors.
La Fiamma's coach Mark Gray said he couldn't have asked for a better outcome after a long road trip to Perth.
'I couldn't have asked for anything more, they were incredible,' he said.
'They gave it their all and put together one of the best games I have seen them play in the five years I have been coaching them.
'It has been something that they have been wanting for a number of years, to go down to Perth and compete with the best and to see them smash it out of the park was really special.'
Opening the door for women to have the opportunity to play in Perth like the men's team, Gray said it was vital to growing the women's game in the Mid West.
'It gives the girls an opportunity to test themselves against other teams in Perth,' Gray said.
'It just opens up more possibilities for women in this sport and I think that is really important for the growth of the game here.'
The squad will continue to play in Geraldton and in the Women's League Cup this season.

The all-Aussie Ripper GC came home in 13th, and last, at 18 under. Ian Poulter birdied four of his last five holes for a 67 to tie for 17th and avoid relegation from the tour. Hibs boss lavishes praise on prolific Socceroos ace
David Gray has praised Martin Boyle for "constantly delivering" for Hibernian after the long-serving forward brought up his century for the club with a double in their 2-0 win away to 10-man Partizan Belgrade. The 32-year-old Socceroo, who first joined the Hibees more than a decade ago, helped the Edinburgh club capitalise on a 34th-minute dismissal for Vukasin Durdevic as they pulled off one of their most notable European results in decades in the Serbian capital. Captain Boyle scored his 100th goal for the Hibees in the 40th minute before notching his second of the evening from the penalty spot midway through the second half as Gray's side seized full command of their Conference League third qualifying round tie at the half-way stage. "Martin Boyle constantly delivers for this club," Hibs boss Gray told BBC Scotland. "That's 101 goals now, to do that shows how much of a threat he is and he demonstrated that again tonight. "Not just that, I spoke a lot last season about him and the leadership skills, he needed that extra responsibility to take him on to the next level and he's delivering. "I'm delighted for him on a personal note because he's been sitting on 99 goals for a while now, so he can start passing to other players now!" Bunnies young gun coy on future after being linked to R360
Young gun Jye Gray has left the door ajar to leave South Sydney for a rival league when his contract expires at the end of next year. Gray was reportedly given a $US600,000 ($A922,000) contract to join rugby union's global start-up R360 competition, which is set to begin in 2027 and serve as a rival to the NRL. If the 28-cap Rabbitohs fullback was to join, he might play alongside stars including Ryan Papenhuyzen, Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, Nelson Asofa-Solomona and Zac Lomax who are all in negotiations to join the breakaway league. 'My manager is looking after everything outside of that, but I'm just excited to play Gold Coast this weekend,' Gray said on Thursday. 'I played rugby only a little bit in school, but that's about it.' His coach Wayne Bennett is worried about the rebel competition. It's a huge threat, absolutely,' Bennett told Code Sports. 'The NRL is the toughest competition in the world with the best athletes. We cannot ignore it. 'I don't know how we combat it but I will say this - the game needs to come together sooner rather than later in terms of the CEOs and the game itself. 'They will be looking at the star players like (Nathan) Cleary, Latrell (Mitchell) or Reece Walsh, they are the ones that the fans pay their money to watch. 'If we lost just 10 or 12 players like them, it will leave a massive hole in our competition. 'Look at the golf. Who would have thought LIV would be a threat but it is. The amount of money they have paid, we will never be able to match them if they (R360) are serious about the amount of money they have to spend. Broncos great Corey Parker agreed with Bennett. 'I'm at a point now if the R360 is taking off - and it's my belief it's going to - we have got our heads in the sand and we're not doing enough,' he wrote on SEN.
