A 'heartbroken' Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard fought back tears as they remembered their time with two 'absolutely charming' Air India crash victims on This Morning.
The presenters began Tuesday's episode of the ITV show with a tribute to Jamie and Fiongal Greenlaw-Meek, a couple who perished on the tragic flight that crashed just after take-off from Ahmedabad bound for Gatwick on Thursday (June 12).
Both Cat and Ben appeared to be close to tears as they read a statement from the couple's loved ones.
Cat looked emotional as she said: 'We'd like to start by taking a moment to send our heartfelt condolences to the friends and family of Jamie and Fiongal Greenlaw-Meek who tragically lost their lives in the Air India crash.'
Ben continued: 'As more details continue to emerge from the devastating tragedy, their loved ones have asked us to share a statement on their behalf.
'It is with profound sadness and unimaginable heartbreak that we confirm that both Jamie and Fiongal were passengers on the Air India flight that tragically crashed in India.'
The two presenters began Tuesday's episode of the ITV show with a tribute to Jamie and Fiongal Greenlaw-Meek, a couple who perished on the tragic flight that crashed just after take-off from Ahmedabad bound for Gatwick on Thursday (June 12)
Cat went on the read: 'They were a bright light in so many of our lives, deeply loved as sons, brothers and friends.
'Their warmth, kindness, humour and generous spirits touched everyone who knew them. We are all beyond devastated by the news and are struggling to come to terms with the potential of a life without.'
Ben added: 'They would want us to spread positive energy to the world, especially at this time, may peace and love prevail, where there is darkness, spread light, love and laughter.
'We were lucky enough to spend some time with both of them. Fiognal on the show of course, Jamie behind the scenes.'
Cat and Ben reflected on the time they spent with Fiognal and Jamie on the set of This Morning.
Cat said: 'Just absolutely charming gentlemen who were so positive, I've still got my Palo Santo that he gave me and the rosemary that I burn.'
Ben added: 'Fiognal came him last time, he left us with a little care package didn't he, and I've got the stuff to cleanse the energy in my room, some grounding stones, the little bell to ting and some spritz.
'And when we heard the news, obviously it was heartbreaking that the lives of these two young men that were so full of joy and wonderful souls, have been tragically lost.
'They will be really sorely missed and very warmly remembered by all of their friends and family of course.'
Fiongal Greenlaw-Meek, 39, featured on the ITV daytime programme in January and April this year and discussed the healthy lifestyle company called the Wellness Foundry he founded with his husband, Jamie Meek, 45.
Last week, Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary paid tribute to the pair.
'We are starting today with the tragic flight disaster dominating the news this morning,' Dermot said at the beginning of Friday's instalment of This Morning.
The couple are thought to be among the 241 victims who perished when the flight crashed just after take-off from Ahmedabad bound for Gatwick on Thursday (June 12).
Dermot added: 'Sadly, one of those believed to have lost his life is Fiongal Greenlaw-Meek.
'Fiongal appeared on This Morning twice this year, we loved the energy he brought to the studio. Fiongal was on board the plane with his husband Jamie.
'The couple posted videos online about their flight just before boarding and our thoughts and prayers go to their loved ones and all those affected by the terrible tragedy.'
Presenter Alison added: 'Of the 242 people of those on board, 241 lost their lives, including 52 from the UK, making it the worst aviation disaster involving British nationals since the 9/11 attacks.'
Former This Morning editor Martin Frizell paid tribute to Fiognal on his Insatgram account yesterday.
He posted a photo of Fiongnal smiling with Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley alongside the caption: 'So, so sad to hear that Fiongal Greenlaw Meek and his partner are reported to be among the passengers and crew killed today on board the Air India flight bound for Gatwick.
'I remember his visit to the studio in January, he was passionate about auras and although I'm a sceptical sort his vibrancy and sheer enthusiasm won folk over.
'And I know for a fact that he hoped to use his appearance on This Morning to build his Wellness brand, he had a great future ahead of him.
'Thoughts are with his family and friends and those of his partner Jamie.'
Jamie and Fiongal, who live in London, run a wellness and healthy lifestyle company called the Wellness Foundry, and had been in India on holiday.
In a chilling final social media video posted from Ahmedabad airport as they waited to board their doomed flight the couple were dressed in flowery shirts looking happy at the end of their break.
In the clip, Fiongal says: 'We are at the airport just boarding. Goodbye India. Ten-hour flight back to England. What was your biggest takeaway Jamie?
Jamie replies: 'I don't know,' with his partner laughing and responding: 'Thanks for your contribution.'
Fiongal then jokes that his biggest takeaway was 'don't lose your patience with your partner' to which Jamie responds with a smile: 'You snapped at me at the airport for having chai.'
As other passengers mill in the background, Fiongal laughs at the camera and reveals that he is going back to Britain 'happily, happily calm.'
Jamie Meek's brother, Nick Meek, told MailOnline: 'We were expecting him home tonight. He should have landed at 6.30pm and then driven up for about 11pm to get his dog who is staying with our Mum.
'She is not in a good way. It is all very raw for her at the moment. It's a lot to take in and we only heard this news a couple of hours ago.
'Jamie and his husband Fin had been out there for 10 days as a couple to do a wellness retreat.
'They both worked in holistics and had their own business.'
The caretaker from Birmingham said it was not the first time his brother had been to India but it was the first time they had gone as a couple.
He said that his brother and Fin had married in 2022 and lived in Ramsgate, Kent.
In other videos posted by the couple, they showed the stunning hotel they were staying in while in Ahmedabad having completed a seven-hour car journey.
Fiongal lies on a large bed as he speaks to the camera, showing off a giant swing in their room and describes the hotel as 'beautiful.
He beams: 'Feeling very, very happy.'
The couple captured the happy time they had in India in a series of social media posts.
This included getting henna tattoos, shopping for fine fabrics and other gifts and driving through chaotic traffic in a tuk-tuk.
They arrived in Ahmedabad just a day before flying back with Fiongal posting in a video: 'So, it's our last night in India and we've had a magical experience. Some mind-blowing things have happened.
'We are going to put all this together and create a vlog. It's my first ever vlog about the whole trip and we want to share it.'
Jamie revealed what a memorable trip they had both had: 'We have been on quite a journey and then spending our last night here in this beautiful hotel, it's really been great way to round off the trip.'
According to its website, The Wellness Foundry was founded by Fiongal in 2018 after he had a 'spiritual awakening' following a mysterious illness.
The website adds: 'Seeking healing beyond conventional methods, Fiongal delved into alternative practices that resonated deeply within his soul.'
The company specialises in tarot and psychic readings, reiki and other alternative spiritual therapies.

My devil-obsessed dad ate my stepmother and robbed me of my identity - I'll never forget the way I found out about her murder

A woman who's devil-obsessed dad ate her stepmother has opened up about the way she found out about her murder. Tuesday's instalment of This Morning saw co-hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley sit down with guest Jamie-Lee Arrow. Jamie-Lee's dad, Isakin Drabbad, was convicted of killing and cannibalising his partner, Helle Christensen, back in 2011. The mum-of-two appears on Discovery+'s documentary, Evil Livers Here: The Killer Speaks and has a conversation with her dad. Cat revealed: 'This is the most difficult thing I have ever watched because of the cruelty that was involved from your father to you, during your childhood.' Jamie-Lee reflected on her childhood and said: 'When I grew up I had my dad and my mum, at my dad's house it was like stepping into a horror movie. Tuesday's instalment of This Morning saw co-hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley (both pictured, left) sit down with guest Jamie-Lee Arrow 'My dad was very unpredictable, he could go from being the kindest, funniest most charming dad, to being this monster.' Her father was fascinated with the devil and would expose Jamie-Lee to his twisted ideology. She explained: 'He often spoke about the devil and demons. He always had these paintings all over the flat. 'He liked to draw the devil, really scary pictures. He wanted me to turn against God and worship the devil.' Jamie-Lee's parents weren't together and she would split her time between them as a child. 'We'd lay in the bed in darkness and he'd ask me if I could see faces,' she said. Jamie-Lee experienced bullying as a child and her dad gave her a 'voodoo doll to use on my bullies, that darkness was so normal to me, it was my everyday life,' she shared. Her father introduced her to his new partner, Helle, who Jamie-Lee became fond of quite quickly. 'When they first met they were really nice to each other, I really liked her. I thought she was so beautiful... They met in a mental institute, so they both had their problems so that relationship turned really toxic, really quickly,' Jamie-Lee recalled. Jamie-Lee's father murdered her stepmother. Her mother had to break the tragic news to her. 'When she sat me down, at first I didn't want to hear it,' she said. Jamie-Lee recalled the moment when she was around nine-years-old when her mum told her that her stepmother was dead and how she responded, 'My first reaction was, 'was it dad?' She said yeah.' 'I read the world cannibal in the newspapers a few months after that, but I didn't know what cannibal meant,' she explained. Jamie-Lee added: 'I didn't go to school, to shops, watch TV. She wanted to protect me.' 'When I saw it I froze, I didn't know what to do. I Googled the word, it still didn't make sense to me.' Her mum urged to not try to find out anything else about the case and she didn't until Drabbad told her himself. 'When I went back to school all my friends acted differently towards me, everyone was asking about the murder and my dad, people were scared of me and my dad. It really felt like I had been robbed of my identity after the murder,' Jamie-Lee recalled. During her teenage years, Jamie-Lee struggled with drug use and alcohol and became close to her dad. 'He knew that my mum didn't agree with my drug addiction,' Jamie said. 'My dad became the one I turned to because he was the only one that was accepting of my lifestyle and wasn't judging me and was treating me the same way. 'It was only natural for me to become closer to him.' Drabbad was in a psychiatric ward and Jamie-Lee would visit him. 'I didn't see him for two years after the murder, but then I was tricked into seeing him again and when I first saw him he was so normal and didn't even mention the murder,' she recalled. 'When I started seeing him on my own he slowly brainwashing me into becoming like him. He made himself my entire universe.' Eventually, their relationship broke down and four years later they reconnect to be interviewed for the documentary. 'It's hard, I will always love my dad, I don't love what he did but it's hard to sit there and watch someone so evil talking to me and try not to feel the love for them and try to remind myself this person is not good for me, I can't have him in my life,' Jamie-Lee opened up. Jamie-Lee now has a son and daughter but admitted: 'As long as they're under my care I'll never introduce that darkness to him.' She added: 'I believe it's pretty much impossible to stop loving your parents... but that doesn't mean he can be a part of my life... It's like I'm grieving an alive person.' Jamie-Lee's father didn't respond to This Morning's request for comment. This Morning airs weekdays on ITV1 from 10am and is available to stream on ITVX.

Loose Women DROPPED from ITV schedule as This Morning is extended in huge shake-up today

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) LOOSE Women has been pulled off air today with This Morning extended by half an hour. ITV has once again made changes to its daytime schedule, removing Loose Women from today's programming - much to the frustration of loyal viewers. 2 Loose Women bosses are also reportedly axing a huge part of the show amid ITV budget cuts Credit: Shutterstock Editorial The talk show typically airs every weekday from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, but will be off the air for the next six days. In its place, This Morning, hosted today by Cat Deeley, 48, and Ben Shephard, 50, will be extended by 30 minutes and finish at 1pm. Following that, viewers will see the ITV Lunchtime News and ITV News London, before coverage of Royal Ascot begins at 1:30pm and continues until 6pm. It comes as Loose Women bosses are also reportedly axing a huge part of the show amid ITV budget cuts. Producers have decided to drop the live studio audience next year as part of a series of cost-cutting changes to its daytime programming. The show will return in 2026 with a reduced run of just 30 episodes - and without the 100-capacity crowd. It follows broader budget reductions across the channel, which also include halving Lorraine's airtime to 30 minutes and airing it only during school term times. Producers' decision to drop the audience is understood to be a cost-saving measure, as it is managed by an external company that provides security and a warm-up act. However, the change has prompted concern among production staff and presenters, including Ruth Langsford, Kaye Adams, Nadia Sawalha and Charlene White, who rely on audience reactions to shape the tone of the live discussions. A source told MailOnline: "The panelists are really upset over the decision to axe the live studio audience from the show. Watch as Kaye Adams breaks silence on Loose Women cuts "It's what sets the series apart from the rest of ITV daytime and now there are massive fears that viewers will switch off completely. "The only concern now is to cut costs and having a live studio audience can be expensive, with the added need for security and a warmup artist. "Presenters already know how it feels to broadcast the show without an audience because that's what happened during the pandemic, and they all know it creates low mood and lack of atmosphere." An ITV source tells The Sun: "While there is a proposal to not have a studio audience for Loose Women from 2026, that doesn't necessarily mean that we'll never have a studio audience again, it just won't be in the same way as it is now. "At this stage we are still exploring new ways of working and producing the show when we move to a new studio next year." Last week, Kaye Adams broke her silence on the chaos at Loose Women, admitting she's had sleepless nights over the cuts. Speaking on her podcast, How To Be 60, Kaye said she felt as though 'the rug had been pulled' from underneath her. The 62-year-old confessed: 'It did come out of the blue. "I didn't anticipate it, which is probably stupid in retrospect. You get into a sort of rhythm of life. "I had a couple of sleepless nights I have to say, because it's just like the rug's been pulled from under your feet – what has been familiar.' Kaye, who is one of Loose Women's main anchors, said: 'It's going to have an impact. Lots of people will lose their jobs completely which is terrible. It's a huge change. 'But I gave myself a talking to and I listened to my own advice for once – change is hard, but it can be good. 'The past is a trap, don't fear the future – I'm telling myself all these things. And maybe this is the nudge that I needed to make some changes in my life and I'll just have to go with it.' It has been rumoured that the pool of Loose Women panellists will be reduced as part of the cutbacks, which will be introduced from January. So far none of the hosts know if their livelihoods are at stake. It is not yet known whether younger panellists, such as former Love Island contestant Olivia Attwood, 34, and influencer GK Barry, 25, will be favoured over veteran stars including Janet Street-Porter, 78, and Jane Moore, 63. Kaye who joined the Loose Women panel from its first series in 1999, said: 'It's well documented of course. They're having to make cuts and it will affect Loose Women and to be perfectly honest we have no idea at this point what is going to happen.'
