Alain Prost hits out at ‘complete bulls---' new Ayrton Senna biopic
Prost, 70, won the Formula One world championship four times in a brilliant driving career. But it was his intense rivalry with Senna, both when they were team-mates at McLaren and subsequently in opposing teams when the Frenchman joined Ferrari and Williams, which he claims has 'unfortunately' come to define his time in the sport.
Prost and Senna were team-mates at McLaren in 1988 and 1989 and had a fraught relationship. The pair famously made contact at the final chicane in Suzuka in 1989, putting them both out of the race. While Senna restarted, he was later disqualified for rejoining the track by cutting a chicane, handing the title to Prost.

The following year, with Prost now at Ferrari, the pair were involved in one of the most infamous collisions in F1 history, Senna deliberately crashing into the Frenchman at the first corner, taking him out of the race and securing the title for himself.

Their rivalry was explored in the 2010 film Senna, directed by Asif Kapadia. Prost was involved in the making of the film but later expressed frustration over how he was depicted in the final edit. And it is the same with a new six-part 'biopic' Senna about his life, which has been made in collaboration with the driver's family. With a budget of $170 million, it is the most expensive Brazilian television series in history.
Prost has claimed the Brazilian-made series had 'completely fictionalised' their relationship and suggested he had been depicted as a 'bad guy'.
'Bulls---, bulls---, complete bulls---, almost everything has been completely fictionalised,' Prost told Motorsport.com.
'I've only seen a few pictures and heard quite a lot of feedback. As with the film Senna, the first one, which I probably spent even more time on than my own documentary, and this biopic, it's obvious that I won't be satisfied, of course.
'Because there is always a good guy and a bad guy. I know a little bit about the story that is being told and yes, it is a biopic, it is fictionalised.
'But unfortunately, a few repetitive stories are inserted that are totally made up, just totally wrong.'
Prost added that he could leave social media given the grief it causes him.
'I can't not think about Ayrton, fortunately or unfortunately,' the 70 year-old said. 'For example, I'm considering turning off my Instagram, because I get messages every day, really every day without exception – from time to time there's a hateful one, that can happen.
'My biggest fan base on social media is from Brazil, of all places, so I'm forced to think of him. Indirectly, I've been living around this story for 30 years, and it will probably stay that way for the rest of my life.'

The clock is ticking for Liverpool to pull off a remarkable swoop for Alexander Isak, who remains out in the cold at Newcastle United with the transfer deadline creeping up For better or for worse, Alexander Isak has shown he's not afraid to back his corner - as evidenced by his defiant response to former Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag. The remarks showcase Isak's feisty nature and willingness to stand his ground - qualities mirrored in his ongoing attempts to engineer a move to Liverpool this summer. The Reds could add the 25-year-old to a star-studded revamped front line featuring Mohamed Salah, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz. They're weighing up whether to smash the British transfer record for the second time this summer to secure his signature after doing so for Wirtz in a deal totalling £116m. Newcastle, however, are standing firm and demanding £150million - a figure Liverpool would naturally aim to drive down. That standoff may soon come to a head. Eddie Howe's side dominated possession and registered 16 shots, but only three were on target - a statistic that underlined just how much they missed Isak's cutting edge. As well as calling the wantaway striker "greedy", the travelling support even came up with a new song for their once beloved frontman. "We don't care about Isak, he don't care about me," they roared as they left the stadium. "All we care about is NUFC." When asked about the chant, Howe refused to condemn it. "Whatever happens, I think the supporters acted really well today because they supported the team," he said. "Not everything has been plain sailing but they've always been with the team. Arsenal team-mates were fighting like animals on training ground - 'We couldn't break them up'
David Bentley recounted his experience of witnessing what he described as the best fight he saw on the training ground between ex-Arsenal defenders Kolo Toure and Pascal Cygan David Bentley revealed that nobody at Arsenal could break up a savage training-ground scrap between Kolo Toure and Pascal Cygan, who fought like "animals". The former footballer began his career with the north London side but made just nine appearances before he was sold to Blackburn Rovers in 2006. While he featured just once in the Gunners' Invincible Premier League season, Bentley was part of the first-team squad and was entrenched in the intense atmosphere that existed within Arsene Wenger's team. Intense may be an understatement given the ex-Tottenham Hotspur star's recollection of just how competitive things were in training, admitting he was at times left bruised and bloodied. Speaking on the Undr The Cosh podcast, Bentley rattled off a list of the uber-tough characters that were in the Arsenal dressing room at the time. "Everyday was a fight," he said. You got Ray Parlour, loves it, lunatic. "You got Martin Keown, Bergkamp's an animal. [He] kicked the c*** out of everyone. Van Bronckhorst. I came out with black eyes. I used to play up against him, used to elbow the life out of me. I had bloodied eyes." Bentley added: "Pascal Cygan and Kolo Toure, the best fight I've ever seen on the training ground. Two animals going at it. The whole team tried to break it up; it was hard to break it up." Despite being just 19 years of age during Arsenal's title triumph, Bentley wasn't afraid to stand up for himself and said he even confronted Thierry Henry. "I squared up to Thierry Henry, whipped off my gloves, 'Come on, let's have it'. "The coaching staff used to put on seven-a-sides every day. The dressing room was more concerned about winning the seven-a-side tournaments than the game on Sunday." His bravado and cheeky personality, however, once saw him face the wrath of then-captain Patrick Vieira after playing a joke on the Frenchman. "We used to go to Austria to this training camp where they always wanted to go up in the mountains, out the way," he said on the podcast. "And I had no idea, it was my first time. We've come down for breakfast, and what happened at Arsenal – it probably happens everywhere – was you had a French table, the English table, everybody used to kind of sit with people they get on with. "I've come down, me being me, I'm just wanting to be friends with everyone. I think I'm mates with everyone. French tables there, I think there's [Sylvain] Wiltord, [Robert] Pires and whoever. And there's a seat and I went, 'I'm sitting there.' So I've stepped in, and I've sat down and I went, 'Morning lads, you alright?' You know, 'What you up to last night? Have a good w***?' And all that, trying to be their mate. "And cause I don't like silence as well, I thought they can do that can't they? Be all calm. And as I've sat there, I've looked around and these lot are smirking. I'm going, 'They're on me here, I'm going to have to back myself up. They're mugging me off.' "And I just got a big slap, and I'm sat and I've looked up and Patrick, club captain... 'Get out my seat. You're in my seat.' And do you know when you're like, 'Ah f***, I'm red.' In that moment, I thought, 'If I say yes, I'm going to look like a right mug, and if I say no, I'm going to look like a right mug. I can't win.' So I went with the option of, 'No.'" While he admitted the pair are now friends more than 20 years on, there was an immediate punishment doled out to Bentley for his antics. "But for three, four months, I wasn't allowed to go on lads' nights out," he said. "I was kicked... honestly, every training session he'd snap me. I used to love it, I used to play with it. I used to go, 'Patrick, where we going tonight son?!' I think I turned up a couple of times, 'I know I'm not invited, but shut up!'"
