Prabhakar holds ‘Meet your Minister' grievance redressal prog
Hyderabad: The Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar administered the first grievance redressal programme 'Meet your Minister' after a gap of over four months on Wednesday. It was resumed following directions from AICC State in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan.
Given the long gap (the second this year), after R&B and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy conducted one on January 29, the latest programme received a fairly modest number of grievances. Numbering around 100, mostly land disputes, issues of pensioners, housing sites, ration cards, free power, welfare schemes and public transport users seeking availability of buses submitted their representations, even as different leaders including Meenakshi Natarajan and PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud accompanied the Minister for some time.
Speaking to media persons earlier, the Transport Minister felt that the issue of MLC K Kavitha was like a 'storm in a tea cup'. Describing the entire episode as KCR's family drama, Ponnam described that the entire commotion was for political survival. He said that the entire family was attempting to get people's attention as part of the drama. The Minister said that he was not so keen about the happenings within KCR's family and was in no way concerned about the developments within BRS.
He termed the entire episode as an internal political crisis, which should be resolved by the head of the party. He further asked the public and Congress party workers in general and media in particular to keep away from what was happening within BRS.

: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has reiterated the Telangana government's commitment to complete the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Scheme (PRLIS) and turn the barren lands in backward Mahabubnagar district fertile. Mr. Bhatti was addressing a public meeting in Devarakadra constituency of the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district after laying foundation stones for 12 sub stations on Friday (June 6, 2025). He said the government would fast-track the completion of the Palamuru-Rangareddy scheme and release the required funds without delay. He announced that funds for Rehabilitation & Resettlement (R&R) and land acquisition would be released immediately. The gap between the Narlapur and Edula reservoirs will be filled with necessary funding. 'When ₹70 crore was needed for the Uddandapur R&R package, we released them without hesitation. In the future too, the government is ready to release any amount required,' he said. Referring to the Krishna River, the Deputy Chief Minister said that people of Palamuru dreamed of utilising its waters for their lands — the reason they demanded a separate State. However, in ten years, the previous rulers couldn't provide irrigation even to a single acre. He said all major irrigation projects in the old Mahabubnagar district — Jurala, Koilsagar, Bheema, Nettempadu, and Kalwakurthy — were completed during the Congress government. The current Indiramma government, he said, has launched the Indira Solar Giri Jal Vikasam scheme to empower tribal people with dignity. Under this scheme, the government is distributing free borewells, solar pump sets, and plants like avocado across 6.7 lakh acres owned by tribal communities.

MLAs complain of lack of access to CM, his Cabinet colleagues
HYDERABAD: Several Congress MLAs and senior leaders from the Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha constituency have lodged a strong protest with AICC in-charge for Telangana Meenakshi Natarajan over the lack of access to Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and other ministers and having to wait three to four hours to see them. They poured out their grievances during review meetings held by Natarajan at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad on Thursday. The meeting, chaired by TPCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud, covered Mahbubnagar, Nagarkurnool and Warangal Lok Sabha constituencies. According to party sources, some MLAs raised concerns about the sidelining of senior Congress leaders with over 20 years of service, urging the leadership to provide them with prominent positions. A legislator from Mahbubnagar district pointed out marginalisation of BC and SC leaders, stating, 'BC and SC leaders are being sidelined, and they lack opportunities to fight for their rights, which is causing unrest at the grassroots level.' The MLA also questioned why the chief minister and ministers fail to allot time to discuss development works and cadre welfare, making the elected representatives wait for hours. The Nagarkurnool constituency meeting saw heated debates, with Alampur Congress leaders lodging formal complaints against MP and party's Disciplinary Action Committee chairman Mallu Ravi. They accused him of favouring BRS MLA from Alampur by sanctioning his bills while neglecting Congress leaders' bills. This apart, Alampur leaders demanded action against former ZP chairperson Sarita Tirupataiah and DCCB chairman Vishnuvardhan Reddy for alleged misconduct. In the Warangal constituency session, Natarajan directed MLAs, MLCs and senior leaders to actively promote the government's welfare schemes implemented over the past 17 months. She emphasised that these schemes are the 'backbone' of the party and urged leaders to work with unity to strengthen their public outreach. Mahesh Goud, meanwhile, called for better coordination between veteran and new party members. He asked the seniors to resolve issues and prepare for the upcoming local body elections, which he said would reflect on the MLAs' performance. The TPCC chief also expressed optimism about the positive response to initiatives like the BC caste census, SC sub-classification, PDS fine-quality rice distribution and the Bhu Bharati programme, underscoring their impact on boosting the party's ground-level support.

Madiga MLAs tap Cong top brass, step up efforts for berth in cabinet
Hyderabad: The Madiga MLAs who have been camping in Delhi for over a week called on AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and AICC general secretary KC Venugopal on Thursday, urging them to provide a berth for the community. In wake of high speculations over State Cabinet's expansion soon, the delegation, led by Adluri Laxman Kumar, the Dharmapuri MLA, consisted of Manakondur MLA Kavvampally Satyanarayana, Thungathurthi MLA Mandula Samuel and a few others made their best efforts to convince the top brass. Following Thursday's meeting, they said that the high command has responded positively. Briefing about the meeting to the media in Delhi, the MLAs said that they have requested AICC President Kharge and KC Venugopal to give them a berth in the cabinet. They emphasised that this was not an issue of six MLAs belonging to the Madiga community, but an issue related to all the Madiga people of Telangana. It may be mentioned here that four MLAs on May 29 landed in Delhi to press their demand. They cited this as their fair demand and held that the Madigas should definitely be given a berth in the cabinet. The MLAs said that the Madiga community has been supporting the Congress from the beginning and emphasised that they have no objection to giving Malas a place in the cabinet.
