Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah marks 17 years. Samay Shah recalls Dilip Joshi's praise for his performance in the 'Sayanist' episode.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the beloved comedy show, has completed its 17 years. Premiered on July 28, 2008, the show became a sensation due to its relatable characters, humorous storylines, and focus on social issues within a residential society.
Over the years, it has delivered some of the most memorable episodes. Among all was the one where Jethalal aka Dilip Joshi, told Gogi (played by Samay Shah) why 'Science is called Science' and how he helped Iyer Bhai (Tanuj Mahasabde) become a 'Sayanist.'
Samay Shah Recalls Working With Dilip Joshi On 'Sayanist' Episode:
Recently, during a press conference, Samay recalled his memorable moment from the initial days of TMKOC and how Dilip praised him for his performance in the 'Sayanist' episode.
He said, 'Mujhe ek kissa yaad hai aur wo mere life mein bohot impactful raha hai. Jab hum famous 'Sayanist' episode shoot kar rhe the aur meri performance dekh ke Dilip sir ne merko bohot appreciate kiya aur uske baad poori team ne taali maari. To wo chiz mere dimag mein baith gyi. Sir ke words mere liye bohot important hai. (I remember one incident, and it has been very impactful in my life. When we were shooting the famous 'Sayanist' episode and Dilip Sir appreciated my performance and after that, the whole team applauded me. So that thing got etched in my mind. Sir's words are very important for me)."
Dilip Joshi's Hilarious 'Sayanist' Dialogue:
When Gogi asked Jethalal, 'Science ko Science kyu kehte hai (Why is science called science)?" To this, he replied, 'Jab saare subjects ka naam rakha jaa rha tha, tabhi Science ko History ka naam dene waale the. Par problem kya hui ki History ka number pehle aa gaya, line mein aage khada tha na. Lekin fir jab science ki baari aayi, to aur koi naam bacha nahi tha, bas ek naam bacha tha 'Science'. To abhi usko bhi history ka naam to de nahi sakte h, kyunki ek hi naam ke 2 subject gadbad ho jaati. Phir sabne baithak baithaai aur dhyaan lagake socha kya krein fir unhone kaha ki history ko final kardia hai, science ko bhi bola ki bhai maan jaa naa, ek hi bacha hai settlement karte hain. To aise science ko science ka naam mila."
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Star Cast:
The show currently features celebs like Dilip Joshi, Munmun Dutta, Amit Bhatt, Mandar Chandwadkar, Tanuj Mahasabde, Shyam Pathak, Samay Shah, Ambika Ranjankar, Sunayana Fouzdar, Nirmal Soni, Nitish Bhaluni, Sachin Shroff, Azhar Shaikh and Balvinder Singh among others.

Prabhas Dances to ‘Ek Niranjan' With Rana Daggubati In Throwback Baahubali BTS Clip; Anushka Shetty Joins In

Last Updated: Celebrate Friendship Day with a viral Baahubali BTS video featuring Prabhas dancing to Ek Niranjan with Rana Daggubati. Anushka Shetty also makes a special appearance. In a delightful blast from the past, a behind-the-scenes video from the sets of Baahubali has gone viral—and it's as heartwarming as it is hilarious. Shared on the official Instagram handle of the Baahubali franchise on August 3, 2025, to mark Friendship Day, the video features superstar Prabhas letting loose and dancing to the title track of his 2009 film Ek Niranjan. Wearing his royal Baahubali costume, Prabhas can be seen performing the iconic hook step of Ek Niranjan, while also singing along to the track with full gusto. His infectious energy, combined with a touch of goofiness, makes for a moment that fans are calling 'pure gold." Joining him in the clip is co-star Rana Daggubati, who is clearly enjoying the impromptu performance just as much. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Baahubali (@baahubalimovie) Adding to the charm of the video, actress Anushka Shetty—dressed as Devasena—enters the frame, exchanging smiles and a few words with Prabhas, capturing the camaraderie that defined the making of this cinematic epic. The caption on the video reads, 'Every day on set felt like #FriendshipDay," perfectly encapsulating the bond shared by the cast. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, Ek Niranjan featured Prabhas opposite Kangana Ranaut, with Sonu Sood and the late Mukul Dev in supporting roles. Though not as monumental as Baahubali, the film remains a fan favorite, especially for its catchy soundtrack. As for the Baahubali franchise, helmed by SS Rajamouli, it stands tall as one of the most successful film series in Indian cinema. Prabhas took on the dual roles of Amarendra and Mahendra Baahubali, with Rana Daggubati playing the formidable antagonist Bhallaladeva, and Anushka Shetty as the fierce and graceful Devasena. The ensemble also included powerhouses like Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj. Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) changed the face of Indian cinema, with the latter holding the title of highest-grossing Indian film for years—until the arrival of Pushpa 2: The Rule. On the work front, Prabhas is now preparing for his upcoming release The RajaSaab, a romantic horror comedy set to hit theatres on December 5, 2025. Volcano in Russias Far East erupts for first time in centuries

Last Updated: Moscow, Aug 3 (AP) A volcano on Russia's far eastern Kamchatka Peninsula erupted overnight into Sunday for what scientists said is the first time in hundreds of years, days after a massive 8.8-magnitude earthquake. The Krasheninnikov volcano sent ash 6 kilometres into the sky, according to staff at the Kronotsky Reserve, where the volcano is located. Images released by state media showed dense clouds of ash rising above the volcano. 'The plume is spreading eastward from the volcano toward the Pacific Ocean. There are no populated areas along its path, and no ashfall has been recorded in inhabited localities," Kamchatka's emergencies ministry wrote on Telegram during the eruption. The eruption was accompanied by a 7.0-magnitude earthquake and prompted a tsunami warning for three areas of Kamchatka. The tsunami warning was later lifted by Russia's Ministry for Emergency Services. 'This is the first historically confirmed eruption of the Krasheninnikov volcano in 600 years," Olga Girina, head of the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Team, told Russian state news agency RIA Novosti. The Smithsonian Institution's Global Volcanism Program, based in the US, however, lists Krasheninnikov's last eruption as occurring 475 years ago in 1550. The reason for the discrepancy was not clear. The Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Team said late Sunday that the volcano's activity was decreasing but that 'moderate explosive activity" could continue. The eruption occurred after a huge earthquake struck Russia's Far East early Wednesday, an 8.8-magnitude temblor that caused small tsunami waves in Japan and Alaska and prompted warnings for Hawaii, North and Central America and Pacific islands south toward New Zealand.
