F1: Jack Doohan appeals for end to family harassment after fake post

Australian driver Jack Doohan has appealed for an end to the harassment of his family after a fake social media post purported to be from his father was shared widely online.
Doohan, whose father Mick won five motorcycling world titles, is a reserve driver at the Alpine team after
being replaced by Franco Colapinto
six races into his debut Formula 1 season earlier this month.
The fake post made fun of Argentinean Colapinto's
crash in qualifying for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix last weekend
, his first outing since replacing Doohan.
"As you can clearly see, the story circulating above is completely false," Doohan posted on social media.
"They edited the original content to make it appear as though my father posted it, which is entirely untrue.
"Please stop harassing my family. I didn't think it would have to get to this point."
Doohan initially blamed Argentinian fans for the fake post, but later clarified this assertion after those responsible for mocking up the image apologised and took it down.
Colapinto last weekend urged his fans to show respect to other drivers after he accidentally blocked Red Bull's Yuki Tsunoda in the first Friday practice at Imola.
The Japanese driver received a series of insulting comments online, many of them in Spanish, and suggested Formula 1 organisers might need to step in to curtail the abuse.

That's the takeaway from the All Black team naming out of Córdoba this morning, but there's a fair chance that we'll be saying the same thing for the rest of the season. On the surface, a strong All Black team should be expected - but the draw the All Blacks face from here on out shows that there's little room for experimentation. The next two tests are against a Pumas team that beat them last year and then the All Blacks face their biggest challenge of the year against the Springboks. Then there's the Bledisloe Cup and a Grand Slam tour, with the only fixture that would usually stick out as a gimme test being against Scotland. Except that Scotland ran the All Blacks very close the last time they were in Edinburgh and provided some of the key players for the recent British & Irish Lions side. And that Robertson has made it very clear that he doesn't want to take any chances, with last year's arguably overly cautious selection approach against lowly Italy the best example of that. So the argument is very much there that Robertson will have to pick his best side for every remaining match in 2025. Which is fine in theory, but can his squad absorb the inevitable injury toll? It's something that will get put to the test this Saturday, as Cortez Ratima finds himself in charge of a very makeshift halfback corps. "Obviously it's unfortunate that two guys (Cam Roigard and Noah Hotham) can't be here," said Ratima. "I guess for me trying to help them (Finlay Christie and Kyle Preston) out, with any details. If I don't know the answer, I'll go ask the coaches…as nines we always pick off each other's ideas." Du'Plessis Kirifi. Photo: ActionPress Flanker Du'Plessis Kirifi stressed that the team had been impressed at how the new look halfbacks had got into their work. "Just like any other unit in our group, we're always pushing each other to be better. Only two people can play on the weekend, but during the week, we're right there…it's been pretty awesome to see these guys operate in pretty unique circumstances." The key now is to almost view this circumstance as not so unique, though. Robertson has been clear that he wants four players deep in every position over the next four years, but the trick now is to actually give his new players enough game time to make that a reality - something that is kind of at odds with the way he's picking the team right now. Then there's the number of minutes that the key men are playing. Robertson rightfully pointed out that Ardie Savea has just had three weeks off and will be fresh for this weekend, but it will be his 16th game of the year after his mammoth workload with Moana Pasifika. Ardie Savea. Photo: ActionPress Savea is a special player so therefore can be treated with special rules, but it's likely he will play every test this season and rack up potentially 25 games. Savea generally doesn't get subbed, so he's looking at a potentially record-breaking amount of work this season. As per usual, the All Blacks will only publicly focus on one week at a time, however there will some serious work going on behind the scenes to make sure that the likes of Savea are kept as healthy as possible long term. Former Silver Fern completes trio of NZ signings at Australian club

Photo: Shane Wenzlick / Former Silver Fern Te Paea Selby-Rickit is joining the Queensland Firebirds next year, joining two other big New Zealand signings at the club. Earlier this week current Silver Ferns Kelly Jackson and Maddy Gordon confirmed they will be playing in the Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) competition next year. The trio will be playing under New Zealand coach Kiri Wills at the Firebirds, who are taking advantage of Netball New Zealand's recent relaxing of eligibility rules. Grace Nweke, who will play her second season at the New South Wales Swifts next year, has been given an exemption to still be eligible for the Silver Ferns. Jackson and Gordon have also been granted exemptions, as has Kate Heffernan who will play at the Adelaide Thunderbirds next year. Selby-Rickit has not made herself available for the Silver Ferns, so did not seek an exemption to play in the Australian league. Selby-Rickit was in some of the best form of her career this year playing her sixth season at the Tactix, who went on to lift the ANZ Premiership title for the first time. The Tactix will dearly miss the 33-year-old, as will the ANZ Premiership. She was one of the competitions most experienced, having played 181 national league matches at the Steel, then Tactix. The Tactix will look a very different side next year, with Ellie Bird retiring, and Jane Watson not returning. RNZ also understands that Tactix stalwart and Silver Fern Karin Burger is in talks with the Sunshine Coast Lightning. Selby-Rickit played 66 Tests for New Zealand and was part of the Silver Ferns 2019 World Cup triumph. The goal attack position was problematic for the Firebirds this season and Wills needed a player who could get more out of Ugandan shooter Mary Cholhok, who at 2.01m is the tallest player in the competition. One of Selby-Rickit's greatest strengths is setting up ball for her fellow shooters, and bringing them into a game. Selby-Rickit said she was excited to be joining the Firebirds and getting stuck into the 2026 SSN season. "It's a new challenge that I'm really looking forward to. New team, new environment, and a great opportunity to play against the best. "I also want to take a moment to thank the Tactix for an incredible six years. I'm so grateful to the club, my team-mates, and the fans for all the support and memories over the past six seasons," Selby-Rickit said. Wills said Selby-Rickit's experience would be a huge asset. "She's a constant threat in the circle who combines court-craft and shooting accuracy to be a playmaker and scorer," Wills said. "Te Paea is excited to show what she can do in SSN and I know the Purple Family will be eager to see what she can deliver on court."
