Sky customers can get the Apple iPhone 16 Pro for £28 a month

Daily Mirror24-04-2025

The 128GB smartphone comes in four stylish colours and features Apple Intelligence technology
Sky's latest offer on the Apple iPhone 16 Pro may be the answer to anybody looking for a new smartphone. The sleek 128GB titanium device comes in four stylish colours and has a 6.3-inch display.
The phone features Apple's latest-generation Ceramic Shield front, which claims to be twice as tough as any smartphone glass. Sky is now offering the iPhone 16 Pro for £28 per month over a 24-month contract, with an upfront cost of £12.
Sky's deal is a 36-month contract, but customers can swap to a new phone anytime after 31 days or when the 24-month contract is up at no extra cost. This is one of the cheapest monthly payments on offer, with Three selling the same phone for £38.71 a month over a 24-month contract with an upfront cost of £30.
As reported by the Express, the iPhone 16 Pro's battery life provides up to 27 hours of video playback. It boasts a 48MP Fusion camera with an Ultra Wide lens and shoots videos in 4K 120 fps Dolby Vision.
The smartphone has an A18 Pro chip, offering more speed and larger memory bandwidth, while Apple Intelligence helps you get tasks done quickly. The device also comes with privacy protections, ensuring not even Apple can access your data.
For shoppers wanting to explore other smartphone options, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is currently on sale for £1,099 or £30.53 a month and has a slightly larger 6.9-inch display. The 256GB device is available in several colours, comes with a handy S-Pen and features Galaxy AI.
Amazon is offering a 22% discount on the Google Pixel 9, now available for £699 down from £899. This device boasts a 6.3-inch screen, comes in a choice of four colours and features Google AI.
The iPhone 16 Pro hasn't been reviewed on the Sky website, but over at Amazon where it costs £899, many buyers have shared their thoughts. The device has received an overall rating of 4.4 out of five stars, with one happy shopper saying: "The iPhone 16 Pro has been a great upgrade option for me, combining a sleek design and built for the new Apple Intelligence features due to be released. The first thing I did notice is the new display - it feels crisp and vibrant.
"The improved refresh rate makes everything from scrolling to gaming feel incredibly smooth. Performance-wise, the new A18 chip delivers decent speeds, effortlessly handling multitasking and demanding apps - gaming on my iPhone feels a lot smoother, and the phone itself just feels a lot faster compared to my old iPhone 13 Pro Max.
"The battery life has also seen a decent boost, easily lasting a full day even with heavy use - I often have my phone on low power mode, and still runs decently and the battery has lasted way over 24 hours despite using it often. The camera system, always a standout feature for the Pro models, has been further refined.
"The improved low-light performance is actually insane to be honest, and along with the new AI-enhanced photography tools, it allows for stunning photos and videos in any condition. The new camera button on the iPhone 16 Pro is actually incredibly useful, and it can be customised to open various apps - it felt a little weird at first and the button felt in the way, but I got used to it after a day or so."
However, they did mention a slight issue: "The only downside is that the outer black titanium case feels plasticky oddly - I think it feels rather cheap, but I have my phone in a Spigen hybrid case, so it doesn't bother me that much. Overall, the iPhone 16 Pro is a powerhouse device that pushes the boundaries of what a smartphone can do - I highly recommend it."
Unfortunately one Amazon shopper was left underwhelmed, explaining: "I wouldn't recommend getting this phone for solely two reasons. The battery life is horrible and so disappointing. I upgraded because my iPhone 13 battery was dying. After spending £1,099 I expected the battery to at least last a day. In reality I had to charge it twice a day with minimum usage. Literally my phone could be sitting idle and the battery was running out. It is not worth the upgrade."
Someone else disagreed, as their glowing review reads: " This phone is probably one of the greatest from the Apple line. The design is so great and the colour is outstanding, the functionality is great and the strong outer casing feels nice in the hands. The battery life is great and lasts for hours on end and the best thing is it's light weight.
"The value for money is great because of its features, with the new camera button you can become a professional and take amazing stunning photographs. The 48-megapixel camera shows its potential in all areas, and photos come out at a professional level. The 120 hz display is so good and feels smooth when using."
You can get the Apple iPhone 16 Pro on Sky's £28-a-month contract here. By trading in your old device, you may save even more money on the smartphone.

It's currently owned by Mozilla, which is the tech giant behind the Firefox web browser (a rival to Microsoft Edge, Apple's Safari, and Google Chrome). Mozilla says it wants to focus on Firefox instead, and has decided to shut down Pocket permanently as a result. "We've made the difficult decision to shut down Pocket on July 8, 2025," the Pocket team said in a statement. "Thank you for being part of our journey over the years. "We're proud of the impact Pocket has had for our users and communities." Pocket first launched back in mid-2007 as a browser extension for Mozilla Firefox. It was originally called Read It Later, and quickly grew to have millions of users. The service rebranded to Pocket in 2012, and its app ended up being used by tens of millions of people around the world. In early 2017, Pocket revealed that it had been acquired by Mozilla. iPhone 16e review – I've secretly tested Apple's cheapest mobile and I love the new button but that's not the best bit Then just a few weeks ago, Mozilla confirmed that Pocket would shut down in July – with user data and accounts due for deletion in October. BaByliss hair straightener that works 'just as well as ghd' drops from £90 to £30

'My wife was absolutely delighted with the BaByliss Rose Gold Styler—a true game changer in her daily beauty routine.' One applicance that everyone should have in their home is a quality set of hair straighteners. This versatile hair tool can both straighten and curl your hair, letting you have complete control of how you will look that day. However, one of the problems with hair straighteners is products from high quality brands usually come with a pretty hefty price tag. And while you want to buy a set that will last you a good few years, it can be difficult to part with your hard earned money. Thankfully, in a limited time deal, Amazon has slashed the price of well known branded hair straightener, saving shoppers £60. Originally priced at £90, shoppers can now snatch up the BaByliss Rose Gold Hair Straighteners for only £29.99. Bought by over 1,000 shoppers in the last 30 days, these BaByliss hair straighteners are said to deliver users effortless styling. With floating ceramic plates, the device will glide smoothly through your hair to get rid of any kinks without snagging, leaving users with silky, straight hair "every time". Featuring three temperature settings, ranging from 180 to 235 degrees, shoppers will have more control over the amount of heat they are putting onto their hair. Additionally, for those in a rush, this hair straightener is said to be ready to use in just 15 seconds due to its advanced ceramic heating system. Along with a heat-proof mat for added safety, this device will also automatically turn off after an hour to give users added peace of mind. And for those who want sleek, smooth hair anywhere, this device will become your perfect travel companion as it is equipped with a built-in multi-voltage functionality. Another set of straighteners that have been reduced by Amazon are the ghd Gold Hair Straightener & Styler. Normally retailing for £189, shoppers can now snatch the styler for £150.30 in a limited time deal. This styler promises to give users a 'salon smooth finish' as it uses dual-zone technology for a premium performance. Alternatively, Argos is selling the Remington Sapphire Luxe Hair Straightener for £35. Along with a three year warranty, these hair straighteners are said to make your hair two times smoother than standard stylers. As well as a ultra-fast 15 second heat up time, this device comes with five temperatures to choose from. Back to the BaByliss hair straightener, Amazon shoppers have awarded the device a 4.6 star rating. With many shoppers praising its sleek design, one shopper noted that they became a 'game changer' for their wife's beauty routine. One happy shopper said: "BaByliss products never disappointed me. Great hair straightener, does exactly what it supposed to do despite me being too lazy of sectioning in small portions the hair, I do divide my hair in two parts literally (right half and left half). "The hair straightener gets hot quickly, has a long cable which gives you enough mobility, only minus I personally do not love the rose pink colour." Another reviewer added: "My wife was absolutely delighted with the BaByliss Rose Gold Styler—a true game changer in her daily beauty routine. From the moment she unboxed it, she was captivated by its sleek, rose gold design. "The elegant finish not only adds a luxurious touch to her vanity but also makes a striking visual statement. Holding it, she immediately noticed its premium quality and the way it felt balanced and substantial, yet surprisingly lightweight in her hand." However, not everyone was overly impressed by the hair tool, as one shopper noted: "Works fine but quite a basic model. The cord attached to the straightener doesn't swivel so gets caught up quite easily. I'd recommend a more expensive one that has more features." With another three-star reviewer adding: "This straightener works well and has a usefully long lead. The location of the control between the arms is a real pain. Much better on the side." Despite this, a happy shopper added: "Bought these for my partner after her last set finally died after 10 years of use. She has used them everyday since and has loved them, very sleek and easy to store, take very little tome to heat up and leaves her extremely thick curly hair looking extremely straight. She says she would definitely buy these over more expensive brands." While five-star reviewer went on to say: "Bought these to replace a set of GHD straighteners and to be honest they work just as well. Only downside is that the pink heat mat/cover is just a little bit small. However, that's forgivable because the product is good." To buy the BaByliss Rose Gold Hair Straighteners, click HERE. Apple Watch Shortcuts: 12 Tips You NEED to Know!

The Apple Watch is more than just a stylish accessory—it's a versatile and powerful tool designed to simplify your daily life. Whether you're new to the device or a long-time user, these 12 tips will help you unlock its full potential. From customizing watch faces to optimizing battery life, these practical strategies will enhance your experience and make your Apple Watch an indispensable part of your routine. The video below from Stephen Robles gives us more details. Watch this video on YouTube. 1. Customize Watch Faces for Instant Access Your watch face is the first thing you see when you glance at your Apple Watch, so it's essential to make it work for you. Customize it to display the information you use most frequently. Add complications, which are small widgets that provide real-time data such as weather updates, calendar events, or fitness stats. For example, if you monitor your heart rate regularly, include the Heart Rate complication for one-tap access. With a wide variety of styles and layouts available, you can design a watch face that perfectly suits your lifestyle and priorities. 2. Use the Control Center for Quick Settings The Control Center is your go-to hub for quick access to essential settings. By swiping up from the bottom of the screen, you can enable features like Airplane Mode, Do Not Disturb, and the flashlight. Rearrange the icons to prioritize the tools you use most often, making sure they're always within easy reach. This customization allows you to adjust settings quickly and efficiently, even when you're on the move or in a hurry. 3. Manage Notifications to Stay Focused Avoid being overwhelmed by notifications by tailoring which alerts appear on your Apple Watch. Open the Watch app on your iPhone to control which apps can send notifications. Use the 'Deliver Quietly' option for less intrusive updates or enable Do Not Disturb mode during meetings, workouts, or other focused activities. By managing notifications effectively, you can stay informed without unnecessary distractions, helping you maintain productivity and focus throughout the day. 4. Use Siri for Hands-Free Assistance Siri on the Apple Watch provides a seamless way to multitask. Simply raise your wrist and say, 'Hey Siri,' followed by your command. Whether you're setting reminders, sending messages, checking the weather, or starting a workout, Siri allows you to complete tasks without touching your device. This hands-free functionality is especially useful when you're busy or need to stay focused on other activities. 5. Explore Health and Fitness Features The Apple Watch is a powerful companion for health and fitness tracking. Use the Activity app to monitor your daily movement, exercise, and standing goals. For more detailed insights, the Workout app tracks activities such as running, cycling, swimming, and more. Additionally, features like the Heart Rate app and Blood Oxygen sensor provide valuable health data, helping you stay informed about your wellness. These tools make it easier to maintain a healthy lifestyle and achieve your fitness goals. 6. Optimize Battery Life If you're concerned about your Apple Watch running out of battery, there are several ways to extend its life. Adjust settings such as lowering the screen brightness, disabling background app refresh, and turning off the Always-On Display when it's not needed. For long days, enable Power Reserve mode to conserve energy. Regularly updating your watch's software also ensures it operates efficiently, helping you get the most out of your device. 7. Manage Apps and Free Up Storage Keep your Apple Watch running smoothly by managing its apps and storage. Use the Watch app on your iPhone to uninstall apps you no longer use. Organize the Dock to prioritize your most-used apps, making them easier to access. This not only declutters your device but also improves its overall performance, making sure it remains responsive and efficient. 8. Use Apple Pay for Contactless Payments Apple Pay transforms your Apple Watch into a secure and convenient payment tool. Set up your credit or debit card in the Wallet app, and you'll be ready to make contactless payments with just a tap at compatible terminals. This feature is especially useful when you're on the go and want to avoid pulling out your wallet or phone, offering both speed and security. 9. Try the Walkie-Talkie for Instant Communication The Walkie-Talkie app is a fun and efficient way to stay connected with friends and family who also have an Apple Watch. It allows you to send voice messages instantly, making it a quick alternative to phone calls or texts. Whether you're coordinating plans or just checking in, this feature adds a personal touch to your communication. 10. Set Up Shortcuts for Repeated Tasks Save time by creating shortcuts for your most frequent actions. For example, you can set up a shortcut to start a specific workout, send a pre-written text message, or control smart home devices. Use the Shortcuts app on your iPhone to customize these automations and sync them to your Apple Watch. This feature streamlines your routine, making everyday tasks faster and more convenient. 11. Customize Complications for Real-Time Info Complications are more than just decorative elements on your watch face—they're functional tools that provide real-time updates. From tracking your next calendar event to displaying your step count, complications can be tailored to fit your lifestyle. Explore third-party apps for even more options, allowing you to make your watch face as informative and useful as possible. 12. Troubleshoot and Maintain Your Watch If your Apple Watch isn't performing as expected, basic troubleshooting can often resolve the issue. Restart the device, check for software updates, or unpair and re-pair it with your iPhone. Regular cleaning and proper storage also help maintain its performance and longevity. By taking these steps, you can ensure your Apple Watch stays in top shape and continues to function reliably.
