Astronomer Enlists Gwyneth Paltrow as ‘Temporary Spokesperson' Amid Coldplay Viral Scandal

Yahoo2 days ago
While Astronomer lost their CEO and HR exec amid the Coldplay concert viral scandal, their marketing team has picked up the slack with a clever new ad that enlists Gwyneth Paltrow, the ex-wife of Chris Martin.
Hours after the tech company's chief human resources officer Kristin Cabot resigned, Astronomer's socials posted the ad starring Paltrow as a 'temporary spokesperson' to let the public know what exactly the now-popular company does.

'Thank you for your interest in Astronomer,' the actress says. 'I've been hired on a very temporary basis to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Astronomer. Astronomer has gotten a lot of questions over the last few days, and they wanted me to answer the most common ones.'
The questions include 'OMG. What the f-' and 'How is your social media team hold-,' with Paltrow sidestepping the scandal and instead offering answering about the company itself.
'We are thrilled so many people have an interest in data workflow automation,' Paltrow adds. 'We will now be returning to what we do best: Delivering game-changing results for our customers. Thank you for your interest in Astronomer.'
Andy Byron, the now-former CEO of Astronomer, resigned last week after he and Cabot were put on leave following the viral moment during Coldplay's Boston-area concert.
In the widely seen and frequently-meme'd moment caught on jumbotron, Byron and Cabot looked to be caught off-guard when their embrace was seen by more than 50,000 people at Gillette Stadium. Their immediate reaction was to duck and turn away from the camera and leaving the frame, which likely led to the speculation and suspicions over their non-professional-appearing relationship.
Coldplay's shows feature 'The Jumbotron Song,' where Chris Martin riffs about whomever is captured on the camera. In a clip filmed during the incident, Martin — who was married to Paltrow for 13 years before their 'conscious uncoupling' — joked from the stage, 'Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy.'

Susquehanna analyst Christopher Rolland also lifted his target, moving to $210 from $180 with a Buy rating. Rolland cited the strength of Nvidia's data center segment and highlighted the upcoming GB300 product line as a catalyst for double-digit revenue growth, supported by higher selling prices and expanding margins.
