With all the changes we've seen in college football the last few years, it sure seems like the same schedules that were made years in advance and mostly locked in have been adjusted more and more. Ohio State isn't immune either. We've seen additions, modifications, and cancellations of some of the future opponents as the Big Ten has expanded, the College Football Playoff has gotten bigger, and Name, Image and Likeness continues to change the landscape of talent on teams.
On Wednesday, Ohio State announced further football nonconference schedule changes, and we're here to keep you in the loop.
All told, there are three changes to the nonconference schedules in 2029 and 2030. Ohio State added a game against Navy for the season opener on Sept. 1, 2029. However, in order to make room for that game, the Buckeyes and the University of Nevada have agreed to move their previously scheduled game to Sept. 7, 2030.
Ohio State also added a game against Youngstown State, to be played at Ohio Stadium on Sept. 15, 2029. That all means that the Buckeyes have just one game remaining to fill out their non-conference schedules over the next five years by way of the season opener on August 1, 2030.

Nick Wright suggests Bo Nix is the next Mac Jones
Nick Wright wants to be starting something. Speaking on his "What's Wright?" show, Nick Wright and Cowherd spent time talking about the latest happenings in the NFL. Wright spoke on his expectations for Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix, and he made a, say, rather interesting comparison. Wright believes that former quarterback Mac Jones, who suffered a sharp decline after a solid rookie season, is a great comparison for Nix. A stretch? Maybe. Wright compared Nix's Pro Bowl alternate nod, Denver's 10 wins and the Broncos getting knocked out of the playoffs by the Buffalo Bills to Jones' rookie season, suggesting that Nix will now have a similar career outcome. I'd say Wright is off the mark for two reasons: 1) Nix has Sean Payton and 2) Mac Jones never had Sean Payton. Darius Slay tells Steelers to 'stop playing' and pay Cam Heyward
One of the most polarizing topics currently dominating Steel City headlines is undoubtedly Cam Heyward's contract dilemma — and one veteran defender has his back. On Friday's episode of the Not Just Football with Cam Heyward podcast, special guests Jalen Ramsey and Darius Slay wasted little time addressing the elephant in the room — comparing the contract situation to that of Watt. The conversation quickly got away from the group, spiraling into Slay warning the Steelers to get a deal done quickly. "We need you to get it done, you took a big tole in me coming here," Slay told Heyward on the podcast. "So, we need you out there now. Tell them to stop playing, right now." Why Heyward's negotiation is so hotly debated is because he's only one year into his two-year extension signed last September — but the Steelers veteran also argued the plan all along was to ask for more money after an All-Pro caliber year. Ceyair Wright earns final single-digit jersey for Nebraska football
The Huskers announced their final player to earn a single-digit jersey on Friday afternoon. Defensive back Ceyair Wright earns the final single-digit left for Nebraska, No. 1. Under head coach Matt Rhule's system, a player is awarded a single-digit jersey number for being one of the toughest on the team, a tradition he utilized at Temple and Baylor. Wright now rounds out a strong group of players to earn a single-digit jersey, after Nebraska announced the first honorees on Tuesday. He joins fellow defensive backs Marques Buford Jr., Malcolm Hartzog Jr., and DeShon Singleton within the group. Wright played all 13 games for Nebraska in 2024, earning eight starts. He set career highs in tackles (39), pass breakups (6), interceptions (2), tackles for loss (1), sacks (1,) and forced fumbles (1). Wright even scored a pick-six against his former team, USC, in 2024. Prior to Nebraska, the Los Angeles, California native, played in 23 games with 15 starts at USC from 2021 to 2023. With the Trojans, he racked up 41 tackles, 1.0 tackle for loss, one interception, and five pass breakups.
