A Sacramento mother and her 8-month-old daughter have been missing for over 10 days
Whisper Owen, 36, and her infant daughter Sandra McCarty were last seen on July 15, according to the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.
'The not knowing, it's brought me to a point where I'm — it's a cross between anger and numb,' Owen's mother, Vicki Torres, told CNN affiliate KCRA. 'I'm terrified. I'm just terrified.'
The pair left Fresno, where KCRA reports they were visiting family, around 5 p.m. on the 15th, according to the sheriff's office.
A traffic camera last captured their vehicle, a silver 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer, shortly after 8 p.m. in Atwater, around 66 miles north of Fresno, says the sheriff's office.
Since then, neither has been seen – and no information has been uncovered to explain their disappearance, according to the sheriff's office.
'They were supposed to be heading home to Elk Grove (Sacramento County) where family members were expecting them,' said the sheriff's office in a post on Facebook. Elk Grove is around 158 miles north of Fresno.
On July 19, four days after departing Fresno, Owen's partner contacted her family to ask if she was there, according to CNN affiliate KFSN. Her brother, Richard Owen, told the affiliate he had informed her partner that Whisper had left on Tuesday night — then Richard reported them missing to law enforcement.
Torres, Owen's mother, told KCRA the two had a 'wonderful visit' in Fresno, where they attended a doctor's appointment for the baby.
'The only thing she had to do was stop and get a can of formula because she was on her last bottle,' Torres told KCRA.
Owen 'didn't run away,' her mother said. She has a 'good home life' and three other children, Torres told KCRA.
Torres told CNN affiliate KFSN her daughter doesn't have a working phone so she typically only speaks with her every few days.
Family members are contributing to the desperate search for the pair, driving up and down the highway, according to KFSN.

Man breaks into Sacramento building, dies after falling from sixth-story balcony
A man fell to his death from a Sacramento building early Sunday morning after breaking into the business complex, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office said. Fire crews were the first to arrive at the 1750 Howe Avenue scene around 2:30 a.m. due to a fire alarm, the Sacramento Fire Department said. The Sheriff's Office said firefighters reported seeing a man who had broken in on the sixth-floor balcony. Not long after deputies arrived, the man climbed over the railing and fell. Fire crews provided first aid, but the man died at the hospital from his injuries. The Sheriff's Office said they investigated and found that the man had broken into the complex, caused $100,000 worth of damage, pulled a fire alarm and then made his way onto the balcony. The Sheriff's Office has not identified the man as of Sunday morning.

Fugitive dad wanted for alleged triple murder possibly spotted as massive police response ends empty-handed
Washington authorities launched a large-scale search for the missing survivalist father wanted for his alleged connection to the murders of his three daughters after receiving a tip reporting a potential sighting of the man. The King County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a possible sighting of Travis Decker near Washington's Snoqualmie Pass and Pacific Crest Trail, located approximately 55 miles from Seattle, FOX 13 reported. A community member reportedly called authorities at around 6 p.m. on Friday to report the possible sighting. Police then deployed a large number of deputies, along with TAC-30, and K-9 units in response to the report, according to FOX 13. Neighboring agencies were also reportedly notified. Approximately three hours later, authorities called off the search without locating Decker. The update comes after the Chelan County Sheriff's Office, which initiated the search for Decker, previously announced the department is scaling back its manhunt efforts in response to a decrease in tips from community members. Last month, a tipster called in a potential sighting of Decker while visiting Idaho's Sawtooth Forest. However, the tip proved to be a false alarm after authorities located the man thought to be Decker. The 33-year-old father has been missing for over two months after the bodies of his three daughters – Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5, – were found at Rock Island Campground on June 2. The girls' mother had reported them missing three days earlier after they did not return home following a court-mandated custody visit with their father. Days later, the girls' bodies were found just steps away from Decker's abandoned pickup truck with their hands bound and plastic bags over their heads Decker, a military-trained survivalist and former member of the U.S. Army, was nowhere to be found, sparking an expansive manhunt by numerous local, state and federal agencies – including the U.S. Marshals Service and Border Patrol's Tactical Unit. Authorities warn that Decker should be considered armed and dangerous but insist they have no reason to believe he is a threat to public safety. He is charged with three counts of aggravated first-degree murder and kidnapping. The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $20,000 reward for any information leading to Decker's arrest. The King County Sheriff's Office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment.
