Man held for misbehaving with woman on moving bus
A 29-year-old man was arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a woman on board a State-run bus in Thrissur, the police said on Saturday.
The accused Savad, a native of Vadakara in neighbouring Kozhikode, was taken into custody from Tamil Nadu on Friday and his arrest was recorded, the East Police here said.
Savad was arrested and jailed in a similar case two years ago for allegedly flashing and misbehaving with a woman passenger on board a moving bus in Ernakulam district.
The fresh incident happened on June 14 on board a Malappuram-bound Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus.
The police said, as per the woman's complaint, the accused had touched her with sexual intension and behaved in an inappropriate manner. As she protested, Savad alighted the bus midway and escaped.
The victim later lodged a complaint with the East police, which launched a man-hunt to trace him.
The arrest was recorded under various sections of the BNS, including Section 75 (sexual harassment), police added.
In the earlier incident, Savad had been accorded a reception by the All Kerala Men's Association when he was released on bail, which had invited widespread criticism two years ago.

Agra: A Dalit couple's wedding in Dhakpura village of Etah district was held under heavy police protection on Friday evening after upper caste men objected to the procession taking their "traditional route", triggering stone-pelting and leaving a policeman injured, police said on Sunday. As the groom's party tried to take the longer route, an argument broke out, followed by stone-pelting between members of the two communities. Police constable Sunil Kumar was injured in the incident. Satpal, the bride's brother, added that tradition guided their choice of route. "There was some disruption initially, but the wedding was eventually conducted without further issues and the bride was sent off peacefully. " Police filed an FIR against 16 named and 40–50 unnamed people under sections 191(2) (rioting), 191(3) (rioting with deadly weapons), 190 (unlawful assembly), and 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) of the BNS. SSP Singh said the dispute was "over the choice of procession route." He added, "Eventually, after discussions, the procession continued on the designated path with agreement from the Thakur community. The situation is peaceful, and police remain deployed as a precaution. The village collectively supported the event, especially since the bride's father is deceased."

Cyber crooks digitally arrest woman for three days, steal ₹29.2 lakh
Posing as Mumbai Crime Branch officials, cyber conmen kept a woman under digital arrest for three days and stole ₹29.2 lakh from her bank accounts on the pretext of an inquiry. Based on a complaint by the victim, the East Division cyber crime police registered an FIR against unknown persons charging them under the IT Act and also under Section 318(4) (cheating that involves inducing someone to deliver property or a valuable security through deception) of the BNS recently. The victim said that she received an Interactive voice response (IVR) call on her phone on June 16 and the caller introduced himself as an officer with the Mumbai Crime Branch. The caller accused her of having a parcel in her name which contained a laptop, passports, ATM cards, and MDMA. Accusing her of smuggling drugs and money laundering, the caller said that a case had been registered and informed her that she was under digital arrest. The accused asked her to cooperate in the investigation and threatened to arrest her and asked her to share her personal and bank account details. The victim shared all details and allowed them to transfer money for three days. The accused told her that the money would be returned after completion of the investigation. The scam came to light when the accused vanished and did not return the money as promised. The police have advised people not to fall prey to such scams. There is no provision in the police department for digital arrest and those who receive such calls should not entertain them and inform the control room, a senior police officer said.

A man was shot and his wife and two children were abducted at gunpoint by a group of armed men in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district, officials said on Sunday.
