Vikrant Massey To Win National Award For 12th Fail, Rani Mukerji 'Strong Contender' For Best Actress?
Amid buzz that the National Awards will be announced soon, new reports claim that Vikrant Massey will win the Best Actor award, and that Rani Mukerji is a strong contender in the Best Actress category. While Vikrant will reportedly win for 12th Fail, Rani is being considered for Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway.
Senior Journalist Subhash K Jha quoted a source as saying, 'Vikrant Massey's performance in 12th Fail is getting him the National Award. It is final." The source also mentioned, 'For the National award for Best Actress, Rani Mukerji is a very strong contender for her role in the film, Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, and there are also two actresses from the South also in the reckoning."
While these are only unconfirmed speculations, Vikrant Massey's fans are waiting with bated breath to witness their favourite actor's dream come true. Earlier this year, Vikrant Massey exclusively told News18 Showsha that he has prayed for a National Award since he was a child wanting to be an actor.
Reacting to the buzz around 12th Fail's speculated National Award win, Vikrant told us, 'I hope it does. And I'm sorry, without cost of sounding pompous, and with utmost humility. I hope it does. I hope the film wins an award. I hope Vidhu Vinod Chopra wins an award. I hope I win an award. I've always aspired for one."
'I've prayed for one when I was that young kid wanting to become an actor, I always wanted a National Award because that's the greatest achievement an actor in India can have, to be presented with an award by the President of the country. And I hope it happens. So, fingers crossed," the actor added.
Meanwhile, on the work front, after Aankhon Ki Gustaakiyan with Shanaya Kapoor, Vikrant Massey is all set for his next film titled White, where he plays the titular role of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. As for Rani Mukerji, Mardaani 3 has been officially announced and is in production. The actress has also reportedly been roped in for Shah Rukh Khan's King. However, this is yet to be confirmed.
