Princeton PG Xaivian Lee transferring to champion Florida
Twice an All-Ivy League first-team selection, he made visits to the Gators' campus as well as to Kansas and St. John's. Lee, who has one year of eligibility remaining, was regarded as one of the top point guards in the transfer portal.
Lee, who explored entering the NBA draft last year before returning to Princeton, will re-enter the draft process ahead of his move to Florida, his agent, George S. Langberg, told the Trentonian (N.J.) newspaper.
A native of Toronto, the 6-foot-4 Lee would be a replacement for Florida's All-America guard Walter Clayton Jr., who has exhausted his eligibility and is heading to the NBA draft. Clayton followed a similar path, playing at a Northeast mid-major (Iona) before transferring to Florida.
Lee averaged 16.9 points last season with career bests with 6.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game in 30 contests (all starts). In 91 career games (59 starts) for the Tigers, Lee averaged 12.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists.
For his career, he has shot 43.5 percent from the field, including 33.4 percent from 3-point range, and 79.6 percent from the foul line.
Lee was All-Ivy League first team in 2023-24 and 2024-25. He became the first player in Princeton history to record a triple-double when he logged 21 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists in a 77-69 win at Saint Joseph's on Dec. 3, 2024.

Reports: Free agent DE Matthew Judon visiting Dolphins
August 18 - Four-time Pro Bowl linebacker Matthew Judon is visiting the Miami Dolphins on Monday, multiple outlets reported. The free agent pass-rusher, who turned 33 on Friday, had 5.5 sacks last season with the Atlanta Falcons. Judon has recorded 72.0 sacks, 174 quarterback hits and 410 tackles in 131 games (97 starts) with the Baltimore Ravens (2016-20), New England Patriots (2021-23) and Falcons. A fifth-round draft pick by the Ravens in 2016, Judon was selected to four consecutive Pro Bowls from 2019 to 2022. Dolphins' second-year edge rusher Chop Robinson was taken off the field on a cart during Wednesday's practice, but the 2024 first-round pick later posted on his Instagram account that "I'm good yall nothing serious." Robinson posted six sacks as a rookie. He joins Bradley Chubb (11 sacks in 2023 before missing last year due to an ACL rupture) and Jaelen Phillips (23 sacks in 46 games) in the Dolphins' talented pass-rushing unit. 'Chiesa's value to us is higher than any potential fee'

He arrived injured and he's done well when he's come on. He seems happy here, even if he doesn't start. I think if he can get back to the form he's shown in the past, Liverpool will have an amazing player and someone who can change Chiesa's goals to minute ratio is actually good. He gets a lot of shots off in equal measure. He deserves to get more game-time and has shown he can deliver when trusted. We are short of forwards with the sales of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez, and unfortunately the passing of Diogo Jota. Keep him as a very good squad With the loss of Diogo, we also lost a player who could come on and grab the game by the scruff of the neck. These players are hard to find and Federico has proved this could be him, so give him some minutes and see what he can The Chiesa scenario reminds me very much of Divock Origi. Even the most ardent of Liverpool fans will admit that Origi was quite an average striker but the fact that he scored the most crucial goals elevated him to cult hero status. Chiesa is a quality player who loves the club and who is equally loved by the fans. If he can stay fit, he is definitely worth keeping around, even if only as an impact Keep him. His value to us is higher than any potential fee and we are short on those positions. If he finds any of his old form from before his injuries it will be a gamble that pays off many times Keep Chiesa because he can score and unite fans and players alike. Cult hero status is unmatched in today's world.

Matthew Liberatore tries to turn season around against Marlins
August 18 - Left-hander Matthew Liberatore -- loser of four straight decisions and winless since June 29 -- will try to get back on track Monday night as his St. Louis Cardinals visit the Miami Marlins to open a three-game series. Liberatore, 25, was a first-round pick by Tampa Bay in 2018, straight out of the Arizona prep ranks. The Cardinals acquired him in January 2020 in a trade that sent outfielder Randy Arozarena to the Rays. With the Cardinals, Liberatore is 3-3 with a 3.89 ERA in 67 career relief appearances; and, as a starter, he is 11-19 with a 4.91 ERA. This season, however, is the first when Liberatore has been exclusively a starter. He is 6-10 with a 4.08 ERA in 22 appearances. But the transition may be taking its toll. After compiling a 3.70 ERA over his first 17 starts, Liberatore has seen that number grow to 5.95 ERA over his last five starts -- a span over which he has failed to go more than 4 1/3 innings in any start. Part of the problem is that Liberatore's fastball tends to hit 95 mph for his first three innings. From there, the trend is for his velocity to drop to 93 and as low as 91 mph. All of this suggests that Liberatore may be better in the bullpen. However, that's not what he desires. "I don't know if there's anything I've wanted more than to be a big-league starter," Liberatore told "I don't know if I could want to be a (reliever again)." Two other trends are negative for Liberatore for Monday's game. He has a 12.00 ERA in six innings over four career appearances against Miami (two starts, two relief appearances). And his career ERA is nearly a run higher on the road 5.10 than at home 4.13. Miami is expected to counter Liberatore with right-hander Eury Perez (5-3, 3.58). Perez's trends are mostly positive. He turned in a quality start in his only appearance against the Cardinals, giving up one run on three hits with seven strikeouts and two walks over six innings in a 2023 home loss. His career ERA is also much better at home (2.00 in 13 starts) than it is on the road (4.38 in 18 starts). However, after going 3-1 with a 1.29 ERA last month, Perez has a 4.96 ERA in three starts in August (though he is 2-0). Overall, neither team has played terrific baseball lately. The Cardinals have lost five straight games -- all at home -- including Sunday's 8-4 defeat to the Yankees. The Marlins just finished a 3-8 road trip. In addition, the Marlins have lost All-Star left fielder Kyle Stowers, who was placed on injured reserve on Sunday with an oblique strain. Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said Stowers will be out at least several weeks, which puts the rest of his season in jeopardy. Stowers felt tightness on his left side during his first at-bat on Friday, and that feeling never disappeared. "I just felt a little weird," Stowers said. Stowers, a 27-year-old who was having a breakout season, was the National League's Player of the Month for July. For the season, Stowers has 25 home runs and 73 RBIs with 21 doubles, three triples and a .912 OPS. At the time of his exit from the lineup -- he sat out Saturday's game -- Stowers ranked fifth in the National League in OPS, tied for ninth in homers and 11th in RBIs.
