Two arrested after 17-year-old stabbed at park event
Two men have been arrested after a 17-year-old boy was stabbed in the face, hands and buttocks at a community event.
The boy remains in hospital after the attack, which happened in Blackbird Leys Park on Sunday afternoon.
The incident was one of three stabbings to happen in the area, causing Thames Valley Police to enact stop-and-search powers, which expired at 19:25 BST.
An 18-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both from Oxford, have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Both remain in custody.
Police said the 18-year-old has also been arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.
He was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with an earlier incident on 25 March at Fry's Hill Park, Oxford.
A 15-year-old boy was slashed in the face, sustaining serious injuries in this incident. He has since been discharged from hospital.
A 16-year-old boy from Bicester was also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with this stabbing. Police said he has since been released on conditional bail.
A force spokesperson added the investigation into the Fry's Hill Park attempted murder was ongoing.
Ch Supt Ben Clark said: "We are absolutely committed to stamping out violence in our community, and we have now made several arrests.
"Officers will be maintaining an increased presence in the area to continue to deter offenders and to reassure the local community.
"If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to raise these with our officers, and you can also report any concerns to Thames Valley Police in the strictest of confidence."

IDF calls on Gazan civilians to evacuate from southern city of Khan Yunis
The military said that Kfir Brigade soldiers had been operating in the Khan Yunis area, where they located over 100 rocket components in a weapons storage facility. IDF Arabic Spokesperson Avichay Adraee urged civilians in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza to evacuate due to IDF activity, in a post to X/Twitter on Monday. Adraee called on civilians to evacuate west to Al-Mawasi, saying that the evacuation order did not apply to the Al-Amal Hospital. Additionally, the military said on Monday that the Kfir Brigade operated in the Khan Yunis area, specifically to locate and destroy terrorist infrastructure. Kfir Brigade soldiers located over 100 rocket components and military equipment stored in a weapons facility in the area, and the soldiers dismantled the facility and the rocket components inside, the IDF said. Soldiers also killed dozens of terrorists and destroyed additional terrorist infrastructure throughout Gaza.

Murder charge filed after death of 35-year-old Topeka man

Shawnee County District Attorney Mike Kagay announced on this week that his office is charging Kayden M. Smith, 22, of Topeka with murder in the second degree. "It's All A Lie": Convicted Jan. 6 Rioter "MAGA Granny" Opened Up About Turning Down Trump's Pardon
Pamela Hemphill — a self-described 'ex-MAGA Granny' who was convicted for her role in the deadly Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol attack — said Tuesday that she declined President Donald Trump's pardon because she didn't want to be part of his 'narrative.' Hemphill — in an interview with CNN's Pamela Brown — pointed to Trump's talk of a 'weaponization' of the Justice Department, adding that other convicted rioters have since tagged along and claimed they weren't allowed due process. She's one of 1,500 people the president pardoned on his first day in office for their roles in the attack. Among those who received pardons were hundreds of rioters convicted of assaulting officers, roughly 1,000 nonviolent offenders, and around 200 people accused of assaulting police. Their cases are pending. A number of those pardoned have since been rearrested. Hemphill has distanced herself from her unofficial 'MAGA' moniker and hit back at Trump in 2023 for 'using' her cancer battle in a Truth Social post. On Tuesday, she emphasized that she had due process and was ultimately 'guilty' of her crimes. Hemphill — when asked how she's 'done a 180' since the insurrection — said she noticed social media users in a Jan. 6 group on X, formerly Twitter, 'playing the victim role' and felt like people had 'gaslighted' her using disinformation. 'So, I just discovered one lie after another, and I thought 'this narrative is false,'' said Hemphill, noting that she started a separate J6 'gaslighting' group where she uncovered a number of claims she later learned to be false. 'I thought, 'You know, this is insane. I'm done. I'm done with these people. And I'm going to do my own research,'' she added. She explained that she 'didn't realize a president could ever become a cult leader' and realized through leading cult expert Steven Hassan's 2019 book on Trump that she was in a cult. Hemphill stressed that there was 'nothing I could lose' by being honest and pushing back against Trump. 'It doesn't matter,' she said. 'The cost of continuing to lie or be dishonest with yourself, it's not worth it. It's not worth — anything they want to do to me, it's OK. I'm not worried about nothing.'
