In March 2024, Barber picked up a dominant win over former UFC title challenger Katlyn Cerminara in the preliminary card of UFC 299. The victory over Cerminara is arguably the biggest of her career, and it's also one that topped her current winning streak to six in a row.
After a year on the sidelines, Barber (14-2 MMA, 9-2 UFC) makes her return to the octagon Saturday in the main event of UFC on ESPN 68 (ESPN, ESPN+), which takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. She takes on fellow top contender Erin Blanchfield (13-2 MMA, 7-1 UFC) in a key women's flyweight bout.

The news came on the heels of a recent four-game losing streak -- which followed an 8-2 stretch. It emphasized something we should have probably learned by now -- that nobody is going to run away with the American League West this season." Seattle has had to dig into their pitching depth to make things work in the rotation this year, but have gotten key contributions from Bryan Woo, who is emerging as a legitimate ace, and rookie Logan Evans. Advertisement Evans made his fourth career Major League start on Friday night, pitching six shutout innings against the San Diego Padres while striking out three and only walking one. He carries a 2.57 ERA across his first 21 innings at the top level of baseball. The season so far has been a good one for the Mariners. If their pitching can get much healthier down the stretch, the AL West will be theirs to lose.
