SINGAPORE – Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi, British electronic pop group Clean Bandit and Spice Girls member Melanie C have been added as music acts at the Formula One (F1) Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix (Singapore GP) 2025.
Capaldi, best known for 2019 hit Someone You Loved, will perform at the Padang Stage in Zone 4 on Oct 5. He played his only show in Singapore at Capitol Theatre in 2020.
The 28-year-old was initially scheduled to return to Singapore to perform at The Star Theatre in 2023, but cancelled that gig, as well as the rest of his world tour, due to health reasons.
He recently staged a comeback and performed a surprise set at British music festival Glastonbury 2025 on June 27. The gig came two years after he ended his Glastonbury set prematurely after suffering from a mental breakdown and struggling with tics brought on by Tourette syndrome.
Clean Bandit, the trio behind hits such as Rockabye and Symphony (both 2015), will perform at Wharf Stage, Zone 1 on Oct 3. Their previous gigs in Singapore include a set at music festival Neon Lights in 2019 and a concert at The Star Theatre in 2018.
Melanie C is among the acts doing deejay sets at Sunset Stage, Zone 1, and will perform on Oct 5. Other acts there include electronic music veteran Pete Tong on Oct 4.
They join the other major music acts announced earlier, and are performing at the Padang: K-pop stars G-Dragon and CL on the first night, Oct 3, American rock band Foo Fighters and Norwegian DJ-producer Alan Walker on Oct 4, and British music icon Elton John, who is the race weekend's closing act on Oct 5.

The original soundtrack Golden of Netflix's global animated hit KPop Demon Hunters soared to the top of the UK Official Singles Chart, marking the first K-pop song to reach No. 1 in over a decade. Released as part of the animated film, Golden achieved the No. 1 position in its sixth week on the chart, rising three spots from the previous week. The track, performed by the fictional girl group Huntr/x, is a part of the movie's soundtrack, which features a K-pop girl group battling evil spirits to protect the human world. The UK Official Charts Company highlighted that this is the first K-pop No. 1 on the British chart since Psy's record-breaking Gangnam Style in 2012. In a statement published on the company's website, Martin Talbot, CEO of Official Charts, called the achievement 'another landmark moment for the globally dominating South Korean genre'. Golden has resonated with listeners for its catchy melody and impressive vocal performances. The track has garnered attention for its blend of K-pop and English lyrics, with some lines including Korean phrases like 'forever unbreakable'. It has been described as a summer hit, gaining traction alongside the success of the animated film. The song, composed by Ejae, a former SM Entertainment trainee, and performed by Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, also includes production from renowned K-pop producers Teddy and 24 of The Black Label. The film's success has helped propel Golden to new heights, moving up steadily from No. 93 to No. 4 before claiming the top spot. In addition to its success in the UK, Golden has reached No. 1 on South Korea's Melon Top 100 chart and No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Top stories Swipe. Select. Stay informed. Peaky Blinders creator to pen new James Bond movie: Studio

Sign up now: Get ST's newsletters delivered to your inbox There has been no new Bond film since 2021's No Time To Die. LOS ANGELES - Steven Knight, the creator of gritty TV crime series Peaky Blinders, will write the highly anticipated next James Bond movie, studio Amazon MGM announced on July 31. Knight will work alongside previously announced director Denis Villeneuve to bring the world's most famous fictional spy back to the big screen after a prolonged absence. Amazon MGM Studios acquired creative control of the 007 movies in February, and has moved quickly to get one of Hollywood's most valuable franchises back into production. There has been no new Bond film since 2021's No Time To Die. Knight is best known as the mind behind violent British gangster series Peaky Blinders, which was set in industrial England at the turn of the 20th century and became a global hit. Running for six seasons, and with a Netflix film version currently in the works, Peaky Blinders turbo-charged the careers of leading man Cillian Murphy, alongside a stellar supporting cast including Tom Hardy, Anya Taylor-Joy and Kingsley Ben-Adir. In addition to Peaky Blinders, Knight also co-created the wildly popular television quiz show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and has penned four novels. The Birmingham, England-based screenwriter, producer and director's other TV credits include Taboo, See, This Town, and All the Light We Cannot See. The Bond films, based on Ian Fleming's novels, have earned more than US$7 billion (S$9 billion) collectively at the global box office since debuting in 1962. No release date or title has yet been set for the film franchise's 26th installment. And despite frenzied speculation among fans, there has been no announcement on which actor will replace Daniel Craig as the suave British super-spy. Among the actors most discussed to be the next Bond are Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Tom Holland, Harris Dickinson, Jacob Elordi, and Ben-Adir – but Amazon MGM has so far refused to disclose the franchise's most closely guarded secret. T he 36-year-old former accountant was a home-based F&B business owner for 2½ years, when he sold six-course meals to customers that included butter chicken and chapati. After MasterChef Singapore, he worked at Australian-style wood-fired restaurant Burnt Ends for around six months as its chef de partie. The Singaporean opened his r estaurant, Meh'r by Inderpal, in January. The rooftop eater y i n South Bridge Road serves modern interpretations of South-east Asian fare. On Saturday evenings until Aug 9, Meh'r is offering a SG60 Free-Flow Satay Buffet for $58 a person. 'On Sunday mornings, we typically get ready and then head to the temple for some prayers, before visiting either my parents or in-laws to have teh tarik and unwind . A cup of tea usually takes me away and allows me to disconnect from the world. I love eating home-cooked food at my in-laws' place, with ayam penyet being my guilty pleasure. I spend time with my wife too. Despite seeing each other daily, it is usually a rush, so the weekends give us some time to reconnect. I also have tea with people I love or have not connected with in a while. I also love watching, rewatching and reading everything about the Star Wars film franchise (1977 to present). On Mondays, I send my wife to work and daughter to school in the morning before having some time to myself. I usually head to Johor Bahru to get a massage, do some shopping or indulge in some delicious food. I also love the zoo, and it has been my go-to spot since I was a kid. When I was young, my mum started the tradition of taking me there on special occasions like my birthday. Now that I am older, this has translated to me taking my daughter there monthly. '
