Brit knocked unconscious by single punch during row with Benidorm bouncers

Daily Mirror5 hours ago

The unidentified British tourist and his pals were getting rowdy with bouncers in a Benidorm bar when a local intervened and knocked him unconscious
A British tourist was knocked out cold when a Spanish local sucker-punched him during a row with bouncers in Benidorm.
A fellow reveller captured the moment the unidentified Brit fell to the floor after the vicious sucker punch at a bar in the Spanish resort town on Sunday night.

Eyewitnesses recalled how another pubgoer had asked him and his pals to leave when a bouncer decided to intervene. The tension racheted up and things became "heated", one person said.

In the footage, the Brit dressed in a white outfit is pushed by a group of men. His friend then steps in before the man is brutally punched in the face and falls to the floor. Shockingly, his leg can also be seen bending unnaturally back towards his hip.
A woman with a pink cowboy hat on her head rushes over and crouches over him while the man's friends carry on with their brawl.
Another reveller said: "It's always the d***head Brits - it makes you ashamed to be a Brit sometimes. We'd been in there for two hours or so - it seemed a nice bar and all of a sudden we heard a bit of a commotion.
"There was a smaller guy who we think was a local and he looked like a bouncer but looked a bit too small to be one. He was asking them to leave, and then the larger bouncer came over and things got a bit heated. It looks like the smaller guy then knocks him out. He was out cold, and his leg looked dislocated."

The man's condition is currently unknown.
It comes months after a Brit was left fighting for his life after being punched by a bouncer outside a Benidorm nightclub.
Andrew Frazer, 43, was allegedly floored by a doorman in an 'unprovoked' attack during a lads' break to the famous Costa Blanca resort just over a week after proposing to long-term partner Carrie Howard. The father-of-two, from St Helens, Merseyside, had to have part of his skull cut away to relieve swelling on the brain.
He was taken back to the UK with a gruelling 27-hour journey in the back of a private ambulance because his injuries were too severe for a medical flight.
Overnight it emerged a 42-year-old Romanian man had been arrested over the early-hours incident on November 14 outside a pub in Benidorm's famous Little England area. The unnamed suspect was held last week on suspicion of a crime of wounding.

A post read: 'The Rover Returns! Join Clive and all the team when the doors open this coming weekend at the new Irish Rover! 'Clive, a well known pub landlord in the area, with over 26 years in the game decided to give it another go, and looks forward to welcoming his customers old and new on his new adventure!' The relaunch comes after we revealed workers have removed the sign named after murdered Monaghan whose alleged killer now faces an extradition fight. Workers removed foot-high gold lettering spelling out his surname just 12 days after he and fellow Scots gangster Lyons were assassinated on the Costa del Sol. Pictures showed a specials board advertising home-made soup lying on a table inside, as well as a branded banner and parasols that previously stood on the terrace. A source said at the time: 'No-one knows if they are planning to re-open, but it does look like there's been some work done to the property.' Monaghan's involvement in the business prompted Scottish Tory leader Russell Findlay to call for tighter controls to stop mobsters using supposedly respectable firms to launder dirty cash. He said: 'The Spanish and Scottish authorities should be asking how a known member of a major international drugs gang appeared to have the ownership of a prominent business which literally had his name above the door? 'A guy like that should never have had the ability to put his name on assets for which the only source of funding has been drugs.' Spanish cops insist hitman who executed Ross Monaghan & Eddie Lyons Jr killer WAS member of rival Daniel clan The Lyons gang kingpins had been part of a group watching the Champions League footie final on May 31 when the killer struck. Graphic CCTV footage aired by Spanish broadcasters showed Monaghan crawling on his hands and knees in a bid to flee the hitman, before collapsing against a wall. The horrifying film shows blood from a wound near his heart soaking through his white t-shirt. 5 CCTV shown on Spanish TV captured the moment the shooter storms in. We told how a captured mobile phone holds the key to proving the assassinations in Spain of two Scots crime kingpins are linked to their Daniel gang rivals, sources claim. Cops are understood to have seized the mobile from an alleged hitman suspected of shooting dead the duo. Insiders say it contains data allegedly linking Michael Riley, 44, to Daniel hoods who Spanish detectives reckon are behind the double slaying. Crimefighters appear at odds over who ordered the hit - with Scots officers insisting there is 'no intelligence' linking it to the gangland turf war here.

Palestine Action's RAF vandalism was no protest

Members of an activist group called Palestine Action have broken into the Royal Air Force's largest base, RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, and vandalised two Airbus Voyager refuelling aircraft. With breathless self-congratulation, the organisation said its members 'used electric scooters to swiftly manoeuvre towards the planes', sprayed red paint into the turbine engines and used crowbars to damage the fuselages of the aircraft. The red paint, of course, is symbolic of Palestinian bloodshed. BREAKING: Palestine Action break into RAF Brize Norton and damage two military aircrafts. Flights depart daily from the base to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus. From Cyprus, British planes collect intelligence, refuel fighter jets and transport weapons to commit genocide in Gaza. — Palestine Action (@Pal_action) June 20, 2025 If you are wondering why RAF aircraft in Oxfordshire were targeted by a group concerned with events in the Middle East, allow Palestine Action to remove the scales from your eyes: 'Despite publicly condemning the Israeli government, Britain continues to send military cargo, fly spy planes over Gaza and refuel US/Israeli fighter jets. Britain isn't just complicit, it's an active participant in the Gaza genocide and war crimes across the Middle East. By decommissioning two military planes, Palestine Action have directly intervened to break the chains of oppression.' Flights leave Brize Norton daily, our heroes explain, to fly to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, and 'from Cyprus, British planes collect intelligence, refuel fighter jets and transport weapons to commit genocide in Gaza.' What is not legitimate, nor can ever be legitimate, is breaking into a UK military facility and damaging equipment The Royal Air Force begs to differ on at least some of these assertions. An RAF source told the media that, 'the UK is not supporting Israeli operations and these aircraft have not been used in support of Israeli forces in any shape or form.' There is certainly a defence and security aspect to the relationship between the UK and Israel, as set out two years ago in a '2030 roadmap for UK-Israel bilateral relations.' The armed forces minister, Luke Pollard, stated in a debate in the House of Commons in March that the RAF conducted unarmed surveillance flights over the eastern Mediterranean, including Israel and Gaza, 'solely in support of hostage rescue'. Only intelligence relevant to the rescue of Israeli hostages still held by Hamas in Gaza – nearly 21 months after the savage pogrom of 7 October 2023 – is shared with Israel. The UK suspended a range of arms exports to Israel in September last year. However, we continue to contribute components for the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning strike aircraft to a global spares pool and the common production line for new aircraft; as Israel is also a partner in the F-35 programme, it is entirely possible that some UK-manufactured parts may be supplied for the Israeli Air Force's aircraft, but it is not possible for the UK to monitor or prevent that because of the way components are shared. The claim that the RAF is supporting Israeli operations in Gaza is at best overegged. But it would be a mistake to think that Palestine Action is especially interested in the intricacies of Britain's operations in the eastern Mediterranean or the precise role of aircraft based at RAF Akrotiri. Doubtless every member of Palestine Action is deeply grieved by the loss of Palestinian lives in Gaza. But the group makes no pretence of its agenda. Its website refers to its activities being 'geared towards harnessing the strength of the grassroots and directing it towards bringing down Israel.' It has focused its attention on the Israeli technology and defence contractor Elbit Systems Ltd, the business model of which, the group claims, 'relies on the destruction of Palestine and the genocide of it's [sic] population'. It moves into a full lower-sixth activism fury register when it continues that Elbit 'use Palestinians as test subjects, before selling these technologies on to fuel imperialism and colonialism elsewhere.' For Palestine Action, Elbit is a proxy for Israel, and the group makes little effort to hide that conflation. That is their right: we live in a free and open society and it is legitimate for a campaign group to oppose a foreign state (though the logic of that can carry people to some dark places). It is also legitimate for members of that group to pursue peaceful protest. What is not legitimate, nor can ever be legitimate, is breaking into a UK military facility and damaging equipment. It is, of course, against the law and it is to be hoped that Thames Valley Police catch, charge and prosecute those responsible for the vandalism at Brize Norton. It goes further than that, though. However much members of Palestine Action think they know about RAF operations in the Mediterranean, they have attempted –seemingly without a great deal of success – to reduce the operational capability of the armed forces. The RAF has 14 Voyager refuelling aircraft: Palestine Action vandalised two of them. Those aircraft could be required to support UK operations anywhere in the world, at any time. Anti-Israel activists cannot damage them in relation to activities in the Mediterranean without potential consequences for the whole force. Protest is a desperately precious right, more now than ever. Palestine Action crossed a very clear line in order deliberately to weaken the capacity of British armed forces. There is a word for that, and it is not 'protest'. Catch them, find the heaviest book, and throw it at them.

He has been named as 46-year-old Jarrod Gelling. Zunilda, who called herself Amy, had been missing since Saturday after flying to the Costa del Sol from Dubai. Her relatives described Jarrod overnight as "aggressive" and said they believe he could have lashed out after she told him she wanted a divorce. Zunilda's niece Yuleydis told Malaga-based newspaper Sur her aunt was going to help Jarrod following a knee operation before travelling to Portugal to compete and then going back to Colombia alone after taking the divorce decision. She said: "For my aunt it was the last trip, a goodbye. "She had taken the decision to split from her husband because of his aggressive behaviour. "They had broken up already once and were apart for quite a while but then got back together again to try to resolve things, although the mistreatment continued." The couple's bodies were found just before 2pm yesterday inside a property on a residential estate. Zunilda's gym companion raised the alarm saying he hadn't seen her since June 14. A National Police spokesman in Malaga said: "The National Police is investigating the death of a man and woman found lifeless at a property in Fuengirola. "In the absence of official identification of the bodies, initial inquiries are pointing to them being those of a 43-year-old woman of Colombian origin and her 46-year-old partner of American origin. "Officers went to the property on a residential estate about 1.45pm after a friend of the woman whose body was found reported her disappearance on Wednesday at the National Police Station in Torremolinos. "Her body showed obvious signs of violence and that of the man's signs indicating a suicide-type death which is something an autopsy will have to confirm." The suspected killer is believed to have Colombian and US nationality. If the woman's death is confirmed as a gender violence murder, it would be the third so far in the province of Malaga and the fifth in Southern Spain's Andalucia region. Spanish news website El Espanol has reported that Zunilda also had more than 100,000 followers on OnlyFans and Fansly. She finished second in the NPC Worldwide Latin American Championships in 2021. Her coach Branden Rey said in an emotional Instagram post: "We had 17 days until we were going to hit the stage and shock the world my friend. "I told you that you could possibly be top 10 in the world by the end of this year and I meant it. "Rest in paradise Amy." Bodybuilder friend and coach Behnaz Azar said in an online tribute: "I don't know where to begin. "My heart is broken, my mind is clouded, and my soul is drowning in shock and sorrow. "Amy - my kind, strong, fierce friend. "The most powerful woman I knew in the world of bodybuilding, yet with the gentlest heart." 5 Zunilda's niece Yuleydis told Malaga-based newspaper Sur her aunt was going to help Jarrod following a knee operation Credit: Solarpix
