NRL world divided after Mitchell Moses spotted in furious act towards Eels teammate
The Parramatta skipper proved the hero for his side but it was a series of explosive blow-ups at Da Silva that dominated debate after the game. With the contest hanging in the balance, the mid-season recruit from the Wests Tigers came up with a number of crucial errors that could have cost his side victory.
It was 18-18 with 10 minutes to go when the young hooker decided to try and burrow over the tryline on the last tackle, rather than getting the ball into the hands of his captain and playmaker. Da Silva was wrapped up in the tackle and the chance to kick a field goal to go ahead went begging, causing Moses to absolutely lose it with his teammate.
Moses could be seen shouting obscenities in the direction of Da Silva in one of the all-time sprays for his teammate, clearly furious with his last-tackle decision-making. 'Oh boy, he'll get a conversation from Moses for that,' Michael Ennis said in commentary for Fox League.
It didn't get much better for the young rake, whose poor service from dummy half saw a number of balls go to ground and put even more pressure on his teammates. With his side one point up with less than three minutes to go, Moses gave Da Silva another furious serve after another bludger of a pass from dummy half rolled along the ground and saw the Eels cough up possession.
The Parramatta skipper would have been looking to secure a repeat set for his side but saw them squander possession to the Cowboys and give them another chance to snatch victory or send the game into golden point. Again, the Eels skipper could be seen berating his young teammate over the error, which fortunately did not end up proving costly, as a potentially match-winning try to Jake Clifford was chalked up for interference on Moses.

NRL world reacts to Mitchell Moses blow-up at teammate
"Poor old Tallyn Da Silva possibly played the worst four or five minutes at dummy half in the history of the game," Voss said on SEN radio on Monday morning. "I don't think I've seen a dummy half make so many mistakes and errors of judgement in a short period with his team getting in front by one."
"The on-field berating by Mitchell Moses... that's happened plenty of times. (But) It happened three times in five minutes, how do you come back from that? Was it fair game? Mitchell Moses lost his you-know-what. And I can understand it. I can imagine Parramatta fans losing it."
Voss admitted the spray from Moses didn't look good but said it's a part of the game that players have to accept if they fail to live up to the standards of their teammates. League great Greg Alexander conceded that Da Silva probably did deserve to cop the serve from Moses but understood the divisive nature of the incident in the modern game, where concerns around the mental health of players are much more prominent.
"We saw it more in the past but I can't remember the last time I saw a player berated like he was... I don't think we've seen it happen plenty of times recently," Alexander said on SEN radio. "I think most of that died out of the game where players are berated. He probably deserved it but it's tough. It's tough to handle."
how many brain explosions can @TheParraEels have there. first Williams kicking on the fourth - got a lucky 6 again.. then Da Silva running on last.. cant blame moses for that blow up at him either!!! #nrleelscowboys

If I was Talyn Da Silva, i'd wouldn't go within 20km of Mitchell Moses after this #NRLEelsCowboys

Tallyn Da Silva is going to need a security escort out of the ground tonight. Just to protect him from Mitchell Moses. #NRLEelsCowboys

All clubs want a half-back who is passionate and controls the game. Moses was frustrated with Da Silva for his inability to do his job. The fact that he spoke the way he did to him was relevant. He will learn. It's a professional sport. @TheParraEels #NRLEelsCowboys

Eberechi Eze reaction to Arsenal links goes viral as Crystal Palace hand Gunners new transfer hope
Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish is hopeful Eberechi Eze will still be at the club when the summer transfer window closes but has refused to rule out an exit amid interest from Arsenal. Eze, whose £68million release clause expires on August 15, remains a target for the Gunners having held talks with the player's representatives earlier in the summer. LIVE BLOG: All the latest transfer news and rumours However, amid reports of an agreement between the two clubs, Standard Sport understands Arsenal may need to make space in the squad before finalising any deal for the England international. Along with Eze, Palace captain Marc Guehi has been linked with an exit as Liverpool are said to be keen on signing the central defender who has less than a year remaining on his contract. Speaking after the Eagles beat Liverpool on penalties to win the Community Shield at Wembley, Parish admitted it will be difficult to keep hold of both players. He said: "Yeah listen, of course but players come and go in football clubs you know. "I mean it's a life cycle isn't it you know. Hopefully they're still here, that's what I'd like but we'll see." Eze played the full 90 minutes against Liverpool on Sunday and though his penalty was saved by Alisson Becker in the shootout, he was on the winning side at Wembley once again. Interestingly, a clip of the attacking midfielder after receiving his medal has gone viral on social media. As Eze walked back down the steps, he is asked - presumably by an Arsenal fan - if he will be making the move to the Emirates Stadium in the near future. The 27-year-old did not give a response, but many eagle-eyed Gunners supporters noticed a wry smile as he made his way to continue the post-match celebrations.

Leeds United tracking Dovbyk, Roma look to Krstovic
Artem Dovbyk's future continues to be the subject of transfer speculation. The Ukrainian striker has seemed out of place in the Giallorossi's lineup, a fish out of water in the new starting eleven designed by the new coach of the Roman club. In recent matches against Lens, Aston Villa, and Everton, the former Girona player has exposed all the shortcomings that had left the new manager in doubt until then. In the Premier League, newly promoted Leeds are considering him, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport. And if Dovbyk were to leave the capital, sporting director Frederic Massara would immediately turn to Nikola Krstović of Lecce, who has loudly requested a transfer. The Montenegrin striker is valued at around €25 million, and if Roma receive a suitable offer for Dovbyk, the deal could be completed within hours.

Savinho: Tottenham and Man City in talks over summer deal
Tottenham have held talks with Manchester City over a deal for Savinho. Spurs are looking to bolster their attacking options before the summer transfer window closes. Tottenham have sold captain Heung-min Son to LAFC and lost James Maddison for an extended period of time after he injured his knee. Manchester City winger Savinho has emerged as a target and talks are understood to have taken place between the two clubs. City are reluctant to sell the 21-year-old, who made 48 appearances for Pep Guardiola's side last season. Savinho only joined City permanently last summer after starring for Spanish side Girona and helping them qualify for the Champions League. The winger broke into the Brazil squad during that time and has since gone on to make 13 appearances for them, scoring once. Savinho would add to Tottenham's depth in attack as he is able to play on either flank. Spurs have also been linked with a move for Como playmaker Nico Paz before the transfer window closes. Paz shone in Serie A last season after joining Como from Real Madrid for around £5million. The 20-year-old scored six goals and contributed nine assists as Como finished 10th in Serie A.
