Of the total contribution, Rs 1 crore was given to the SV Anna Prasadam Trust and Rs 10 lakh to the SV Gosamrakshana Trust, the temple body said.
'Kodali Srikanth…donated Rs 1 crore to Sri Venkateswara Anna Prasadam Trust and Rs 10 lakh to Sri Venkateswara Gosamrakshana Trust of TTD on Tuesday morning," said the press release.
Srikanth donated the demand drafts (DDs) of his donation to additional executive officer Ch Venkaiah Chowdary at Ranganayakula Mandapam inside the Srivari (deity) temple.
Former chief minister NT Rama Rao (NTR) started Venkateswara Nithya Annadanam Endowment Scheme in 1985 to serve free food to 2,000 pilgrims a day.
Later, it was transformed into an independent trust by the name of Sri Venkateswara Nithya Annadanam Trust in 1994 and further into Sri Venkateswara Annaprasadam Trust in 2014.

Environmentalists raise concern over H'bag hill landslide

1 2 Hazaribag: Landslide on Bahbanbay hills, a key ecological hotspot in Hazaribag, on Monday should be seen as a warning signal, environmentalists have cautioned on Tuesday. The call for concern assumes importance at a time when series of landslide incidents have been reported in the country in recent past. Environmentalist and Padmashree, Bulu Imam, expressed concern over the sudden collapse of the portion of the hill. "One of the reasons could be illegal stone quarrying, which I anticipated several years ago," he said. He added that when the first stone mining was detected in the area, two massive circular depressions on either side were seen. On seeing this, he anticipated that stone mining on the southwest side of the hill might also cause the western part of the hill to collapse. Bahbanbay Hill was recognised as a 'threatened site' by Sacred Sites International USA and included in the Most Endangered Sacred Sites list already. Imam said that Hazaribag district is full of hillocks but the increased stone mining activities are weakening it, like in the case of Bahbanbay Hill. "If the state govt and district authorities do not check the illegal stone mining in various parts of the district, the very existence of Hazaribag will vanish," he said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Simple Morning Habit for a Flatter Belly After 50! Ranchi-based geologist Nitish Priyadarshi said that this hill is very old. "With age, the hill became highly weathered, and due to increased load, a large part of it came down. This hill is a part of the Chhotanagpur Plateau. Even villagers digging the foothills for mud is also a dangerous practice," he said. Priyadarshi, an assistant professor in the department of geology of Ranchi University, said, "Pahari Mandir in Ranchi is also something like this, and in such a situation, there is no need to tamper much with the structure of these hills." Mullanpur, Zirakpur residents endure 12-hr power cuts

Mohali: Residents of Mullanpur and Zirakpur faced prolonged power outages this week, with many housing societies going without electricity for up to 12–14 hours. The outages not only caused discomfort but also forced residents in several gated communities to bear steep generator charges ranging from Rs 20 to Rs 28 per unit. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now In Mullanpur, the blackout on Tuesday lasted around 12 hours. Manish, a resident of one of the societies, said, "We had no power for the whole day, and the promoter ran generators which cost us Rs 28 per unit for using air-conditioners." Mullanpur executive engineer Taranjit Singh attributed the outage to a fault in the underground power cable. "We replaced two kilometres of cable, which took nearly 12 hours. The work was also delayed due to rain," he said, adding that the disruption was unrelated to the ongoing power workers' strike. "PSPCL has adequate manpower to address complaints promptly," he asserted. Zirakpur also experienced widespread outages. Many societies, including Jaipuria Greens and Maya Garden on VIP Road, remained without power from Monday into Tuesday for up to 14 hours. In Lohgarh, electricity went off at around 4:30 pm on Wednesday and was restored around 7 pm. Residents complained that such cuts have become routine in the township. "Power interruptions happen regularly here, and there's little long-term solution in sight," one resident remarked. While PSPCL officials maintain that the Mullanpur disruption was purely a technical snag, the recurring outages in both towns have left residents frustrated, especially during peak summer heat.
