US court orders George Gibney's extradition to Ireland
US magistrate Judge Daniel Irick made the order at a hearing in Florida on Friday.

Mr Gibney appeared in federal court in Orlando before Judge Irick.
In court documents, seen by the PA news agency, it stated that Mr Gibney is sought by the Government, which has filed charges against him and obtained a warrant for his arrest.
Mr Gibney has been charged with 78 counts of indecent assault and one charge of attempted rape against four minor females aged between eight and 15 years at the time of the alleged offences.
Earlier this week, Mr Gibney had agreed to being extradited from the US to stand trial over multiple sex offence charges.

He also withdrew a request to contest his continued detention, which was due to be heard in court on Friday.
Mr Gibney, who had sex offence charges against him dismissed in the 1990s, has lived in the US for years.
He was arrested on an Irish extradition warrant earlier this month.
An order was made to remand Mr Gibney into the custody of the US Marshal pending the arrival of representatives of the Irish Government to transport him back to Ireland.

It was also ordered that the transfer of Mr Gibney from custody will take place at a time agreed by the US Marshal and the Irish Government authorities.
Mr Gibney's lawyer, Alec Fitzgerald Hall, said on Thursday that after meeting his client to discuss the case, the former swimming team coach agreed to be extradited to Ireland.
Mr Gibney will be extradited to Ireland and is likely to appear before a Dublin court, however it is not yet known when this will take place.
In 2020, the podcast Where Is George Gibney, produced by Second Captains and the BBC, highlighted allegations of abuse against Mr Gibney and prompted new complainants to come forward.

The ex-president's team argued in late 2023 that Trump, and any president, must have absolute immunity from prosecution over actions taken while in office or it could impair important decision-making. The 6-3 decision split along the court's ideological lines ensures that Trump will not face another blockbuster trial anytime soon - with the case sent back to a lower court to determine what is considered his 'official' versus 'unofficial' acts. Obama spoke out about the case via his spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush earlier this week, refuting many of the accusations circling around him. 'The bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction. Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes,' Rodenbush noted. 'These findings were affirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, led by then-Chairman Marco Rubio,' Rodenbush concluded. The twin brother of NBA free agent Marcus Morris Sr. and the player's agent are disputing the reason for his shocking arrest in Florida on Sunday. Morris was arrested at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport. According to arrest records in Broward County, Morris is being held on a charge of Fraud - Writing a Check With Insufficient Funds. But hours after the arrest, Morris' brother Markieff posted an angry statement on X, formerly Twitter: 'The wording is crazy. Damn for that amount of money they'll embarrass you in the airport with your family,' the post read. 'They could have came to the crib for all that. 'When y'all hear the real story on this s**t man. All I can say is Lesson learned. Bro will tell y'all tomorrow. This weird shit gave me a headache. Can't stop nothin!' Three years later, Marcus, Markeiff, Baltimore Ravens safety Gerald Bowman, and two other assailants were arrested in connection with the assault of 36-year-old Eric Hood in Arizona. Both Marcus and Markeiff were playing on the Phoenix Suns at the time. Hood, who had mentored the Morris twins, was allegedly 'sending an inappropriate text message' to the twins' mother. After a trial, the twins and Bowman were found not guilty while the other two assailants confessed.

Outback Wrangler star Matt Wright pleads not guilty to charges after fatal helicopter crash
Outback Wrangler star Matt Wright has pleaded not guilty to attempting to pervert the course of justice more than three years after a fatal helicopter crash. The celebrity croc-wrangler was charged after the crash that killed co-star Chris 'Willow' Wilson in February 2022. Wearing a light blue shirt and blue jeans, Wright appeared calm when he fronted the supreme court in Darwin on Monday. He entered not guilty pleas for three counts of attempting to pervert the course of justice when he was arraigned, kissing his wife during an adjournment. The 2022 crash in remote West Arnhem Land killed Wilson, with pilot Sebastian Robinson also seriously injured. The trial is scheduled to begin on Wednesday and is expected to take four weeks, hearing from about 25 witnesses.
