The so-called "Miss England Avatar Round" give beauty queens the chance to step into the world of AI technology.
Organisers behind the famed contest believe it's the first beauty pageant in the world to introduce such a round.
Over the course of two-hours, each participant can develop a fully-animated digital clone of themselves, capable of delivering presentations and making virtual appearances.
Afton McKeith, daughter of I'm A Celeb star Gillian McKeith, was the first Miss England semi finalist to complete the filming process this week.
A sample video shows her virtual clone interacting, wearing an array of outfits and even speaking in different languages.
"This is not actually me, I am Afton's digital twin," the avatar says.
"I have no human needs, no sleep, no stress, no make-up disasters.
"Just pure calculated perfection.
"Very soon digital twins won't be a novelty, they will be attending meetings, handling interviews and running entire lives.
"Lets face it, wouldn't you rather send your avatar to your 9am meeting if you could?"
mum's an I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! legend. But Afton's more likely to be found backstage at a pageant than in the jungle
Miss England has got tech firm MirrorMe on board to make the new round possible.
Contestants need to record voiceovers and movements to bring their avatars to life, allowing them to explore how they might represent themselves in future digital interviews, business pitches, or public speaking engagements - with the ability to speak more than 140 languages too.
The Miss England business avatar round will be one of ten rounds in the next Miss England semi final that contestants can opt to enter.
A winner will be judged on the highest combined views for their AI video presentations on the MirrorMe website, Vimeo and YouTube.
The real Afton, 25, said: "It's such an exciting honour to be the first Miss England contestant to experience the Avatar Round.
"This initiative is a brilliant way to encourage more young women to step into the world of business and technology.
"A digital twin can be a powerful asset as it allows you to create content that can be reused, save time on filming and even license your likeness to companies for campaigns or educational tools.
"It's about working smarter and exploring new ways to build your brand, create income and stay present even when you're not physically available."
Angie Beasley, who has run the Miss England competition for 23 years, added: 'Miss England has always been about more than just looks.
"With the rise of remote working, AI and virtual platforms, I felt it was time to reflect the world our contestants are stepping into.
"This round is about confidence, presence and impact — whether you're in the room or on a screen.
"It's an empowering way to bridge beauty, brains and modern tech.
"This innovative new round opens the door for contestants to embrace technology in a whole new way, highlighting their adaptability, creativity, and communication skills in the digital space."

Gabby Logan's huge net worth, new job with BBC, rugby ace son and sport star husband

Gabby Logan is set to host the BBC's coverage of the Women's Euro 2025 final between England and Spain on Sunday, but what do we know about the legendary sports presenter away from the screens? Gabby Logan is set to provide coverage for the highly anticipated Women's Euro 2025 final between England and Spain on Sunday. The Lionesses stamped their ticket to St. Jakob-Park in heroic fashion on Tuesday with a last-minute 2-1 win over Italy. ‌ Barbara Bonansea opened the scoring for Le Azzurre before a Michelle Agyemang strike sent the game to extra time. Chloe Kelly later netted a rebound from her missed spot kick to win the tie for England. Spain, meanwhile, stamped their own place in Sunday's final with a 1-0 win over Germany on Wednesday. ‌ Logan will host coverage of the fixture between England and Spain for the BBC, as the Lionesses look to defend their crown from three years ago. But what do we know about the legendary host both on and off screen? Here, Mirror Football breaks it down... ‌ Gabby Logan's substantial net worth Since launching her broadcasting career in 1992, Logan has held some prestigious positions and covered many flagship events for several broadcasters. She teamed up with Sky Sports in 1996, at a time when the industry was dominated by males, quickly becoming a recognisable face of British TV. She was selected as the host of Sport Relief in 2004 and joined the BBC permanently. In the years since, the 52-year-old has hosted her own morning show on BBC Radio 5 Live, worked on Final Score, Inside Sport, the Invictus Games, MOTD Six Nations, and The One Show, and has also had the privilege of covering the 2022 World Cup and 2024 Olympics in Paris. As a result of her professional endeavours, Logan is estimated to have racked up a significant fortune of around £4million, making her the highest female earner in the world of sports journalism. As per Sportcasting via SPORTbible, Logan also ranked seventh in a list of Britain's highest-earning sports presenters and pundits last year, with a salary of £210,000. A new role with the BBC As Gary Lineker announced that 2024/25 would be his final Premier League season at the helm of Match of the Day, the BBC was quick to rethink the set-up of their flagship football highlights show. And as a result, top chiefs decided not to replace Lineker, who had held tenure since 1999, with just one fresh face, but with three. For 2025/26, Logan will join Mark Chapman and Kelly Cates to front the programme, a move that she believes will give the show a completely different edge. Speaking about her new role, she said: "I think what's interesting is that although we're sharing the role, we won't actually be working together on Match of the Day. ‌ "It's really great to share it because we bring different experiences and different interests within the game. We bring different ways of broadcasting and that will mean our pundits are kept on their toes and share different kinds of analysis." It is reported that Logan, Chapman and Cates will split presenting duties on Match of the Day, MOTD 2 and MOTD: Champions League. It is the first time in history that three presenters will share the role. ‌ A sporting husband and a rugby star son Away from the screens, Logan has been married to rugby union star Kenny Logan since 2001, with the two striking up a romance after meeting in a bar in Chelsea. During his career as a winger, Kenny won three English Premierships with Wasps RFC and a Scottish Premiership title with Stirling County. He also represented his nation of Scotland on 70 occasions, racking up 220 points before retiring in 2004. The two welcomed twins with one another in 2005 in the form of Reuben and Lois. ‌ And Reuben has ultimately gone on to follow in his father's footsteps in rugby union as a career choice, with the 19-year-old kicking off his career as a flanker with Wasps at academy level in 2023. A move to Northampton Saints ensued the same year, where he remains to this day, although he spent last season on loan with Cambridge. However, it appears as though the Scotland U20 star will be on the move once more ahead of 2025/26, with Sale Sharks announcing the acquisition of the talent back in April. Speaking about the move, he said: "This is a great opportunity for me to play with and learn from some fantastic coaches and players – like the Curry brothers – who play in my position." Moment woman carries seagull home from night out after finding it outside Wetherspoons… but gets instant karma

THIS is the hilarious moment that one drunken pub-goer took a seagull home and got instant karma. Erin Punton, 22, says she was walking home from a night out when she noticed the seagull outside a Wetherspoons in Northumberland. 5 Feeling more than a little bit tipsy, Erin scooped up the bird and began her journey home. Filming herself on the way, Erin sang her new winged friend a ballad. The video shows her belting Valerie by The Zutons - famously covered by Amy Winehouse - with the bird underneath her arm. Dressed in a pink top and a leather jacket, she can be seen shaking her hair out of her face while continuing to clutch onto the seagull. Throughout the hilarious footage, she puts a variety of filters over the camera - including one moody, vintage effect. Eventually, she staggers into her house and proclaims that the seagull is a 'beauty'. However, she then adds: 'He actually wants to stop in my room and everything but I've got nowhere for him.' Erin has revealed that when she woke up the next morning, the mysterious bird was still there. The 22-year-old said: 'I saw the bird outside Wetherspoons and managed to pick him up without even a thought. 'I don't even know what made me pick him up. 'I put him in my sitting room with a blanket. Royal Mail deliveries AXED in seaside village after terrified posties are forced to take drastic action 'When I woke up in the morning, I'd forgotten and he was just floating around the sitting room. 'I dropped him off at the vets the next day in a box and was told he had bird flu.' Horrified, Erin admitted that she had to 'bleach her whole house' after discovering her new fluffy friend was ill. She says the whole incident has left her feeling 'sick'. The news comes after the 13 seaside towns where feeding seagulls could land you with a fine were revealed. Public health and anti-social behaviour laws, introduced in 2009, were brought in to fight nuisance behavior from gulls. Feeding seagulls can cause an increase in swooping attacks, persistent begging and damage to property. Several towns have also introduced Public Space Protection Orders (PSPOs) to clamp down on efforts to feed gulls. 5

The six little-known Sky TV remote ‘codewords' to skip annoying ads, entertain your kids & unlock 5-star films instantly

TELLY fans can instantly upgrade their Sky-watching experience just by learning a few handy remote tricks. You can easily skip past ads, track down endless entertainment for your kids, and unlock the very best movies in a matter of seconds. It all works using the voice controls on Sky TV remotes. Most modern Sky telly remote controls feature a microphone button. You might have stared at it hundreds of times and never pressed it. But it can grant you dozens of different shortcuts – and I've picked out six of the best. If you get into the habit of using these special codewords and phrases, you'll save loads of time. SKY TV VOICE TRICK #1 – SKIP ADS First up is the ability to skip ads quickly. Now this won't work if you're watching live telly – but it's genius if you're viewing pre-recorded content. If you manually fast-forward through an ad break, it's pretty slow. But with the voice remote, you can just say: "Fast-forward three minutes." It'll whisk you right past the ads and back to your beloved telly. SKY TV VOICE TRICK #2 – TOP FLICKS You may have already known that you can search for movies with your voice by saying its name or asking for a genre. Sky customers can claim delicious freebies in new giveaway scheme But that might serve up some rubbish flicks that aren't worth your time. So instead, try asking for "movies rated five stars". That'll pull up a list of top-rated movies for your perusal, and hopefully ensure that you have a solid movie night. An alternative is to ask for "movies rated one star" if you want a bit of a laugh. 4 SKY TV VOICE TRICK #3 – FAST APPS Sometimes you're watching telly on a live channel or app and then want to view something else. Scrolling through menus and between apps can be a real faff. It's actually much quicker to just voice-request the name of the app. All you need to do is say "open Netflix" and it'll pop right up. You'll be shocked at how much time this can save you – but it's one of those tricks that you need to get into the habit of using, so you can really reap the rewards. SKY TV VOICE TRICK #4 – QUICK TELLY One of the biggest problems with watching TV in the modern age is the amount of choice you have. It can feel impossible to actually pick something because there's just endless telly out there. One solution to this is Sky's recommendation feature. 4 Just hit the microphone button and ask: "What should I watch?" This will feed you telly that you actually want to see based on your viewing habits. And it even works across Sky as well as third-party apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. SKY TV VOICE TRICK #5 – WORDS OFF Sometimes subtitles find themselves mysteriously activated and you can't work out why – or how to switch them off quickly. ANOTHER SKY TRICK TO TRY Earlier this week, we revealed a clever Sky trick... You can unlock loads of classic games on Sky for free. Just load up your Sky TV, go to the apps menu, and look for Games by It's packed with top games including retro titles like Pac-Man, Breakout, and Tetris. There are kids games too, and quizzes that you can play together as a family. You don't need a special controller. Instead you simply play using your Sky TV remote. The only catch? You'll have to sit through ads – but you won't pay a penny to play. Picture Credit: The Sun / Sky / Tetris And other times, you might want them on but can't remember how to bring them up. Rather than faffing around with settings, just use your voice. You can just ask for Sky to "turn subtitles on" or "turn subtitles off" and it'll happen in an instant. SKY TV VOICE TRICK #6 – FUN FOR KIDS It's summertime, which means many parents will be at home trying to entertain their children. 4 And Sky's telly service is jam-packed with kid-friendly content. If you want to find it all very quickly, simply say "Open Kids section". This will take you straight to a treasure trove of child-friendly telly that Sky has curated.
