Blackpink announces 2025 world tour
Blackpink are going on the road this year.
The K-pop powerhouse - comprising Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo and Lisa - has officially announced its 2025 world tour, set to launch this July with a limited run of stadium shows across Asia, North America and Europe.
The tour kicks off on 5 July in Seoul, South Korea, at the Goyang Stadium, before heading to Los Angeles, New York City, Paris, Barcelona and more.
The global trek will wrap up on 15 August at London's Wembley Stadium, making Blackpink the first K-pop girl group to headline the venue.
Tickets go on sale on 27 February.
While the band has not officially released additional dates, they have teased that Tokyo Dome concerts are also in the works, set for mid-January 2026.
The tour marks Blackpink's first since the record-breaking Born Pink World Tour in 2022-2023, which sold more than 700,000 tickets across 29 shows, and landed the group on Billboard's Top Tours chart.
During their brief break from group activities, the members have been focusing on solo music: Lisa's mini-album Alter Ego drops 28 February; Jennie's Ruby arrives 7 March, featuring her collaboration with Doechii on ExtraL; Jisoo's Amortage debuted on Valentine's Day; and Rosé's solo album Rosie was released in December 2024, including the hit song APT with Bruno Mars.

June 6 (UPI) -- Mariah Carey released her first song of 2025 on Friday. The music icon, 56, dropped the single "Type Dangerous" and its official lyric video. "Said we'd be together, but you didn't stay forever," she sings. "Now I guess it's just whatever till the 12th of never. I've never been afraid of love. That's why I like 'em dangerous." The video shows the singer driving her car with wind in her hair. The song is set to appear on an upcoming album. "Type Dangerous" follows the release of the deluxe anniversary edition of The Emancipation of Mimi, which dropped May 30. The new version has 40 songs -- twice the number of tracks that appeared on the 2005 original. "So happy to celebrate this milestone anniversary with you all for an album that meant so much to me then, and means even more now," Carey said on Instagram. Barry Manilow heartbroken by Billy Joel's health crisis
Barry Manilow's heart "broke" when he heard about Billy Joel's health crisis. The veteran musician was forced to cancel all of his tour dates for the rest of the year after he was diagnosed with a rare brain condition called Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), which is caused by a build-up of fluid in the brain, and now Manilow has admitted he feels terrible about seeing the Piano Man go through such a tough time. He told Billboard: "Oh, it's so horrible, so horrible. It just broke my heart when I heard about Billy Joel. I'm such a fan of his work. I really hope he's able to get back to it." Manilow went on to admit there aren't many of his contemporaries still performing. He said: "It's like: 'What? Am I the only one left?' It's Billy Joel, and Elton [John] is not well and Rod [Stewart] and Neil [Diamond]. Diana Ross is still in great shape, I think. "There must be only a handful of people in my world that are still there. "I'm still healthy. I'm strong and I've still got my voice and my energy. The night I can't hit the F natural on Even Now, that's the night I throw in the towel. But I can still do it." Joel recently axed all of his tour dates - including 17 dates in North America and England - but reports suggest he has no plans to retire despite the diagnosis. Announcing the news on social media, a statement from Joel's team read: "Billy Joel has announced that he will be cancelling all scheduled concerts following a recent diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH). This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision and balance. "Under his doctor's instructions, Billy is undergoing physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period. Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritising his health. "He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage." Billy added his own message to fans, saying: "I'm sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding."

Taylor Swift Helped The Hottest Rapper In The World Hit No. 1 For The First Time A Decade Ago
A decade ago, Taylor Swift was one of the biggest pop stars on the planet. It seems that not much has changed in 10 years, as the singer-songwriter continues to dominate the global music industry, albeit in slightly different ways. In the spring of 2014, Swift was heavily promoting her album 1989, her first pure pop project. The title had already produced a number of smashes, and Swift was not slowing down. On the chart dated June 6, 2015, 'Bad Blood' rocketed from No. 53 to No. 1 on the Hot 100. As it did, Swift added to her growing collection of champions, while the artist featured on the tune earned his first. When 'Bad Blood' bolted to the summit on the Hot 100, Kendrick Lamar collected his first champion on the list of the most-consumed songs in the nation. Prior to that point, he had proved himself to be not just a superstar, but one of the most interesting musicians in hip-hop. He'd earned critical acclaim and commercial success, but he had yet to top the Hot 100. Much of Lamar's output by that point had been his own, as he was not yet a big enough draw for well-known acts outside of the rap vertical to recruit. Swift jumped on his growing popularity and talent, and his verse on 'Bad Blood' lent the track some credibility. The collaboration turned the pop tune into a hip-hop/pop hybrid, making it more palatable for a larger audience. Lamar's presence certainly helped Swift send 'Bad Blood' to No. 1 on the Hot 100. It's not clear if the tune would have ruled the ranking had it remained a solo affair, but the combination was smart for both acts. Before 'Bad Blood,' Swift had topped the Hot 100 three times. She earned her first No. 1 in 2012 with 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together' from her album Red. 1989 produced a trio of winners ahead of 'Bad Blood,' with 'Shake It Off' and 'Blank Space' both reaching the top position in 2014. Once 'Bad Blood' took over the charts in America and became the biggest song, both artists won. Swift showed just how huge 1989 was with a third No. 1, and it wouldn't even be the last big hit from the project. Lamar demonstrated that, in addition to being a beloved and respected rapper, he had what it takes to produce pop hits as well — or at least be involved in them. He also showed that his star power had reached a point where even the biggest names in the industry came to him for a verse, which is a highly desired position for any hip-hop artist. 'Bad Blood' went on to score a pair of Grammy nominations. While Swift and Lamar lost Best Pop Duo/Group Performance to 'Uptown Funk' by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, the track claimed Best Music Video. Lamar even beat himself that year, as his own 'Alright' was nominated at the same time in that vertical. In the decade since 'Bad Blood' took over the Hot 100, both artists have added to their list of Hot 100 rulers. Swift has more than doubled her total accumulation of winners on the chart, adding eight more champions to her total following 'Bad Blood.' Lamar has collected five additional leaders, including three in 2024 alone. If 'Bad Blood' did not exist, both Swift and Lamar would still be superstars. They would both continue to rack up hits and win Grammys, but the tune is still important to both of them, and it ranks among their most successful on the Hot 100, even a decade on.
