It comes as a granddaughter blasted council bosses over the state of the cemetery where her family are buried - saying she had to clean the place herself once a month.
Ceilidh McPherson is incensed at Glasgow City Council over the state of Sandymount Cemetery, near Barlanark and Springboig, in the east end of the city.
She feels that Glasgow City Council"doesn't care" about how the cemetery looks and has been forced to tidy up her grandparents' graves herself.
Ceilidh said: "My gran died in 2000 and was buried in Sandymount. At the time they were just getting rid of the grounds keepers so it was spotless.
"Growing up, we went every Saturday, and I noticed the lack of grass cutting and care to the cemetery. We recently buried my granda in 2020 there and noticed full-on neglect from then to now.
"The graves are sinking and overgrown with weeds and grass. Weeds are so high. I'm 5ft 6 and they're as tall as me nearly. I now go to the graves few times a month to clear what I can. All stones are now falling over you can't tell who's who.
"The people that live there are throwing their rubbish onto the gravesites and not caring. I'm absolutely shocked and livid that the council isn't doing anything about it.
"We should always respect the dead, they deserve a forever resting place that's well kept. Not a rubbish overgrown pits. Dunbartonshire cares more about its gravesites than Glasgow City Council does."

Emmerdale's Mackenzie Boyd killed by crossbow after John Sugden showdown

The Dales' notorious villain John Sugden struck again in Thursday night's episode. Emmerdale's Thursday night episode (August 21) showed some cut-throat scenes, as Mackenzie Boyd became John Sugden's latest victim. John shot Mack with a bow and arrow before hitting him over the head with a giant rock in the latest gory episode of the ITV soap. ‌ Mack had uncovered evidence that proved John was lying, and keeping some dark secrets. But villain John realised Mack was onto him, which led to a confrontation where Mack told John he knew he was the one who killed Nate Robinson. ‌ With John making it clear he could not let Mack get out of the situation alive, Mack ran for his life through the woods, only to be caught and seemingly murdered by the Emmerdale killer. It comes after recent reports claimed Mack would be killed off, with actor Lawrence Robb said to be leaving the ITV soap, reported The Mirror. ‌ At the end of Wednesday's episode we saw Mack make the worrying realisation that John was hiding a huge secret. He found a scrapbook from John's army days and in it was a photo of John with a man named Ben. ‌ But Mack already knew Ben, having met him in the shop earlier that day. He confirmed he was the removal man who had collected Nate Robinson's belongings, which the police now know was organised by Nate's killer. Fans know John murdered Nate and disposed of his body in the lake, before making it look as though Nate had moved away. ‌ He had the belongings collected and burned them, while Ben was seemingly under the impression he was talking with Nate. So on Wednesday he claimed to the police that he had no idea Nate was dead and had been the entire time, before identifying Owen as the man he met with to hand over the belongings. Of course this was a lie as Owen was the man John had framed for Nate's death after his own demise weeks ago. ‌ Mack put the pieces together and realised John had killed Nate and then asked his pal Ben to pose as a removal guy to get his belongings. He worked this out via the photo, and John realised he had been rumbled. So what ensued was a deadly chase through the woods as Mack fled for his life, with us finally seeing his flashforward scene play out. ‌ But John shot Mack with a bow and arrow in some very grim scenes indeed. As Mack struggled to breathe and stay alert, he begged John to let him live and promised he would stay quiet. ‌ But John said he needed to silence him, needing to cover his tracks once more. Mack told him he wasn't a murderer, with Nate's death having been an accident, leading to John chillingly commenting that this was about survival. With that he picked up a giant rock and appeared to slam Mack over the head with it, killing him. As the episode came to an end, John claimed he needed to get some petrol and left in his van that was covered in blood - which no one noticed. Not only that, but Mack's body was laying under a sheet in the back of the van confirming his fate. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!

Warning as four Scots scammed out of £29,000 by online 'employment fraudsters'

Police Scotland have warned that "scams of this nature can be difficult to spot and anyone can be fooled". Four people in Scotland have been scammed out of a combined £29,000 by online employment fraudsters. ‌ Police Scotland are investigating four reports of fraud in the Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray areas after the victims involved were scammed out of over £29,000. ‌ Members of the public are told they can make money by 'liking' certain online videos, with people believing they are employed by the online platform provider. ‌ As time goes on, after liking a number of online videos the victims are encouraged to pay to unlock the next level of tasks. The scammer promises the victim that they will earn higher rewards with a high level of investment. ‌ Victims will sign up to a website owned by the scammer and will see an online balance which will increase as the victim pays more money and likes more videos. However, the money is never returned and the victims are never paid, despite many people believing they are employed they are in fact being scammed. Constable Michael Adam, Divisional Cyber Enabled Team, in Aberdeen said: 'Scams of this nature can be difficult to spot and anyone can be fooled. These fraudsters are experts at impersonating people and organisations. ‌ "If something sounds too good to be true it usually is. Only sign up with legitimate and verified companies and if you have any doubts, delete it." Earlier this month, in a separate incident, we reported that accommodation providers and travellers are being urged to remain vigilant following reports of scam emails targeting hotel bookings on the Isle of Barra. ‌ A local hotel has reported that several guests with upcoming reservations have received fraudulent emails requesting their bank details under the guise of "confirming" their bookings. These emails originate from addresses not associated with the hotel, raising concerns about a potential phishing scam. Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing. ‌ Authorities are encouraging all accommodation providers - as well as individuals with plans to stay on the island - to be alert to any suspicious communication regarding their bookings.
