Elite DB committed to Big 10 school will visit Florida State this weekend
Florida State is currently evaluating defensive back prospects in the 2026 cycle. Four-star Brody Jennings, who is currently committed to the Michigan Wolverines, is near the top of their list.
The Seminoles made an offer to Jennings back in November. However, he's never visited FSU up until this point. They will change this weekend as Jennings has set up an unofficial visit to FSU after speaking with head coach Mike Norvell recently per Noles247.
Jennings is a legacy recruit because his father Bradley played for the program and was part of the 1999 National Championship team. However, when Norvell traveled from Tallahassee to Jacksonville to see Jennings at Mandarin High School, he made it clear that the program wants Jennings, but that he needs to make the right choice for himself.
'It was great. He was telling me if I wasn't going to go to Florida State, make sure I pick a school that's right for me and nobody else and not to care about anybody else's opinion. My dad went to Florida State so he was basically telling me don't try to come to Florida State just because of your dad,' Jennings said.
Jennings is the No. 325 recruit nationally and the No. 25 cornerback according to the 247Sports composite rankings. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder is the No. 51 prospect from Florida as well.
This visit is also important because Jennings will be getting to chop it up with defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. a little bit more.
'Great. We're building a strong relationship,' said Jennings. 'By going this week, down there to Florida State, we're going to keep building on the relationship — trying to get it strong. He's a great person. He coached great DBs, some which are in the NFL. He has great experience so he's a great coach.'
Surtain currently saw two of his former players, Renardo Green and Jarrian Jones, make waves as rookies in the NFL in 2024. Hopefully, that pedigree can get Jennings to change his mind in the near future.

Georgia Bulldogs football cornerback commit Justice Fitzpatrick announced that he will be shutting down his recruitment after recently committing to the University of Georgia. Fitzpatrick was expected to take more visits, but those appear to no longer be happening. Fitzpatrick is highly regarded and is ranked as the 47th-best player in the country. Fitzpatrick had a scheduled official visit to Ohio State this weekend but Georgia quickly moved to make sure that Fitzpatrick is going to solidified in this recruiting class.
