Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara Start Shooting For Anil Ravipudi's Mega 157
Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara have reportedly started shooting for director Anil Ravipudi's highly anticipated film, tentatively titled Mega 157. The filming began on Friday, May 23, in Hyderabad.
Sources close to the project revealed that Anil Ravipudi had been eagerly waiting to direct his idol, Chiranjeevi. They also noted that the Telugu superstar was equally enthusiastic about working with the acclaimed director, known for his successive blockbusters.
On Friday, the team started shooting important talkie scenes, with Chiranjeevi and others participating. Chiranjeevi is set to deliver both humour and charm in this film, marking an exciting return to comedy that his fans have been eagerly awaiting.
According to sources, the film will perfectly blend humour with emotion, and action. The screenplay, carefully crafted by Ravipudi, aims to present Chiranjeevi in a new and dynamic role, combining laughter and emotional depth to connect with audiences of all ages. Interestingly, Chiranjeevi's character in the film is named Shankar Varaprasad, which is his real name.
Produced by Sahu Garapati under the Shine Screens banner in collaboration with Sushmita Konidela's Gold Box Entertainments, and presented by Archana, the film is being created on a grand scale.
While Sameer Reddy is handling cinematography, Bheems Ceciroleo is composing the music, and Tammiraju is in charge of editing. Writers S Krishna and G Adi Narayana have contributed to the script, with S Krishna also serving as the executive producer. AS Prakash is the production designer. The filmmakers are planning to release the movie for Sankranthi next year.
Meanwhile, Megastar Chiranjeevi did not have any film releases in 2024, marking a hiatus in his illustrious career. However, he remained active behind the scenes, preparing for significant projects slated for 2025 and beyond. Apart from tentatively titled Mega 157, the veteran actor will be seen in socio-fantasy action film, Vishwambhara. Initially set for a Sankranthi 2025 release, the film's premiere has been delayed with no new official date announced yet.

The fifth instalment in the popular Housefull franchise is all set for release on June 6, and advance bookings for the film suggest a strong opening for one of Bollywood's most celebrated franchises.
