City road still closed after bus collision

A city centre road has been closed for more than 12 hours after a collision involving a bus. Hertfordshire Police was called to St Peters Street in St Albans on Saturday at about 16:00 BST after the bus collided a building. A spokesperson for the police force said there had been no major injuries reported, but the collision had caused structural damage to the building. The road was initially closed in both directions by police officers, but one side of the road had since reopened with the bus still at the scene. On Sunday morning, the southbound carriageway was closed from The Cock pub to the Town Hall. Photos taken at the scene show the police cordon still in place with marked police vehicles parked up. The bus can be seen still at the scene within the police cordon. Officers thanked members of the public for their patience and co-operation. Adolescence scenes shot at Watford's former police station

Scenes for Netflix hit Adolescence were filmed in Watford, as the town continues to emerge as a film and television hotspot. The town's business improvement district (BID) confirmed the news, revealing that the show was part-filmed at the former police station in Clarendon Road. While not confirming exactly which scenes were shot in the town, it is likely the filming was for either episode one or three, both of which were set in a prison setting. Starring Stephen Graham and debuting star Owen Cooper, the show won critical acclaim for its one-take filming style and focus on toxic masculinity. It tells the story of 13-year-old Jamie Miller, played by Cooper, who is accused of murdering his classmate. Following its release earlier this month, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has backed calls for the programme to be shown in schools. It shines a spotlight on so-called "incel" culture and the role played by controversial influencers, such as Andrew Tate. The police station site is soon to be demolished after a planning application was approved to turn it into a 314-home development. Herts Police left Clarendon Road for a new premises in George Street, by St Mary's Church, in April last year.
