NBA trade rumors have begun to the heat up with the offseason right around the corner as teams look to upgrade their roster this summer.

One team that has seen their fair share of trade rumors is the Denver Nuggets who may end up making some moves this summer after being eliminated in the second round of the playoffs for the second consecutive season.
Of course, the Nuggets are trying to capitalize on Nikola Jokic's prime as they try to win another championship but they may need to retool their roster around the three-time MVP to become contenders once again.

Because of this, many of the Nuggets' players have been in trade rumors but the main one that continues to talked about is their star forward Michael Porter Jr.
Porter Jr. put together a career-best season this year but with Denver lacking assets, he could be their main part of a package to upgrade their roster.

With this in mind, Sports Illustrated's Liam Willerup recently proposed a three-team mock trade that includes the Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets.
In the trade, Willerup has Denver receiving Dalton Knecht and Rui Hachimura, Los Angeles receiving Nicolas Claxton and Brooklyn receiving Porter Jr. and a 2031 first-round pick via the Lakers.

This is an interesting trade but one that could benefit all three teams involved. For the Lakers, they would complete their goal of adding a new starting center and they would receive a solid one in Claxton.
For the Nets, they would add a potential star in the making in Porter Jr. who would finally be the focal point on offense.

Denver would also add some key pieces with Hachimura taking over Porter Jr.'s spot while also adding a young bench piece in Knecht to upgrade their second unit offensively.

While this trade may work well for all the teams involved, the Nuggets have expressed no interest in moving on from Porter Jr. this summer but they may have to if they want to become title contenders once again.

49ers WR problem highlighted in PFF list of best QB-pass catcher duos
The San Francisco 49ers have a potential problem lingering with their receiving corps, and it was underscored in a list of every team's top QB-WR/TE duos created by Pro Football Focus. San Francisco's duo features tight end George Kittle paired with quarterback Brock Purdy. They landed at No. 14 on the list. The 49ers are one of only three teams with a tight end listed alongside the QB, joining the Arizona Cardinals (No. 17) and the Las Vegas Raiders (No. 20). Advertisement It's not a great sign for the 49ers' passing game that they don't have a receiver worthy of making the list. Brandon Aiyuk's knee injury continues leaving a sizable question mark over his potential contributions in 2025. Last year's first-round pick Ricky Pearsall also dealt with injuries in training camp before a gunshot wound he sustained in a robbery attempt the week before the regular season sidelined him for the first six weeks. He had flashes last year, but he's still a largely unproven commodity. Jauan Jennings led the team's WRs last season with 975 yards, but he still profiles as more of a secondary pass-catching option than a primary one. If the 49ers are going to have a sustainable, championship-caliber passing attack, they're going to need to find more consistent, legitimate production from their receiving corps. Advertisement On the other hand, part of the reason Kittle is listed with Purdy instead of any of the club's receivers is that Kittle is still an outstanding player. Via PFF: Purdy's 134.5 passer rating when targeting Kittle over the past two seasons ranks first among the quarterback-receiver duos on this list. They also have more than 2,100 yards together during that time. Purdy and Kittle have established an incredible connection, which has stood true in both high- and low-volume situations. Kittle has had a career resurgence since Purdy took over as the starting QB. From 2020-22 he didn't have a 1,000-yard season, but he's had more than 1,000 in each of Purdy's full seasons as a starter. He also set a career-high with 11 touchdowns in 2022 thanks in part to seven TDs over the final four weeks of that season with Purdy under center. Those seven touchdowns would've been a career-high for a whole season. In 2023 Kittle hauled in six TDs, which tied his previous career-high, and in 2024 he pulled down eight TDs -- the second-most in his career. The 49ers can get by if Kittle continues producing at an All-Pro level. They'll still need to find production from their receiving corps, but it wouldn't be the end of the world if Kittle is the team's leading receiver with another 1,000-yard campaign. The Thunder have been exceptional after losses all season. The Pacers know what awaits in Game 2
Associated Press OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — When the Oklahoma City Thunder get hit, they tend to hit back. Immediately, too. Everybody knows what probably is coming in Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night. The Thunder, down 1-0 in the series with the Indiana Pacers, will be raring to go. That's been their way all season; the Thunder are 17-2, including the NBA Cup final loss, in the next game after a defeat — with those 17 wins coming by an average of 17.5 points. The thing is, the Thunder say that's the way they play after wins as well. 'That's the trick,' coach Mark Daigneault said Saturday. 'You don't want to be reactive to the last game because then you can be too high after wins, you can be too low after losses. We just get ourselves to neutral. Understand every game is different, every game is unwritten. You go out there, the ball goes up in the air, and the team that competes better on that night wins.' As such, Oklahoma City will try to be better Sunday. And so will Indiana. There was much for both teams to clean up after Game 1. For the Pacers, it was too many turnovers. For the Thunder, it was not closing out a game that it led by 15 with less than 10 minutes remaining. 'Look, everybody's pattern after a loss is to come more aggressively. … Their whole team is going to be even more aggressive defensively,' Pacers coach Rick Carlisle said. 'The challenge for us is to be able to match that.' Thunder guard and NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander — who led all scorers with 38 points in Game 1, his finals debut — said he doesn't hang on to games for too long, even that one. He watches film, learns the lessons and moves on. He doesn't expect to deviate from that plan for Game 2. 'I take what I need to take from it, and we do it as a group,' Gilgeous-Alexander said. 'After that, I let it go because the lessons are learned. There's nothing else you can do.' Chasing history The Pacers have an opportunity at something very rare: going up 2-0 in the finals by taking the first two games on the road. It's happened only twice in finals history: Chicago did it in 1993 against Phoenix and Houston did it in 1995 against Seattle. Both the Bulls and the Rockets went on to win the NBA title in those seasons. 'I think winning on the road is hard,' said Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton, who had the game-winning shot in Game 1 with 0.3 seconds left. 'Winning an NBA game is hard, and especially a playoff game, and let alone a finals game, right? It's not easy. You're just trying to be as present as you can.' The stakes The Thunder know their odds of winning this title take a serious dive if they lose Game 2 and head to Indianapolis trailing the series 2-0. So, technically, Sunday isn't a must-win game. There's a Game 3 on Wednesday no matter what and a Game 4 on Friday no matter what. But nobody needs to tell OKC the stakes right now. 'Game 1 was a must-win and we didn't win. Now we flip to Game 2 and it's a must-win again,' Thunder forward Chet Holmgren said. 'We've been in must-win situations in this playoff run, and honestly in the playoffs, every game feels like a must-win. You're not saving anything in the tank for any games down the line.' SGA, 3K Assuming he scores in Game 2 — obviously, a reasonable assumption — Gilgeous-Alexander will join a new club. The MVP is just two points shy of reaching the 3,000-point mark for the season, including playoffs. (If the NBA Cup final game counted, which it doesn't, he'd already be over 3,000 for the season.) This will be the 25th time a player has scored 3,000 in a season; Gilgeous-Alexander will be the 12th person to do it. Gonsolin joins Glasnow, Sasaki and Snell among 14 Dodgers pitchers on injured list

LOUIS (AP) — Tony Gonsolin was placed on the 15-day injured list Saturday by the Dodgers because of right elbow discomfort, joining fellow rotation members Tyler Glasnow, Roki Sasaki and Blake Snell among 14 Los Angeles pitchers on the IL. NL West-leading Los Angeles activated relievers Kirby Yates from the 15-day IL and Michael Kopech from the 60-day IL before Saturday's game against St. Louis and designated right-hander Chris Stratton for assignment, one day after he rejoined the team. Gonsolin, a 31-year-old right-hander, made his season debut on April 30 after recovering from Tommy John surgery on Aug. 18, 2023, and was 3-2 with a 5.00 ERA in seven starts. He last pitched Wednesday in a 6-1 loss to the New York Mets, allowing three runs — two earned — three hits and three walks in five innings. Other Dodgers pitchers on the IL are right-handers Luis García, Brudar Graterol, Michael Grove, Edgardo Henriquez, Kyle Hurt, Evan Phillips, River Ryan, Emmet Sheehan, Gavin Stone and Blake Treinen. Kopech, a 29-year-old right-hander, had been sidelined since spring training with right shoulder impingement and had a 15.63 ERA in nine rehab appearances with Triple-A Oklahoma City from May 8 through last Sunday. Yates, a 38-year-old right-hander, had been sidelined since May 17 because of a strained right hamstring. He is 3-2 with a 4.34 ERA in 22 relief appearances, striking out 31 and walking six in 18 2/3 innings.
