Apple's latest MacBook Air M4s have never sold for less at up to $200 off

CNN2 days ago

Earlier this spring, we updated our guide to the best MacBooks with the shiny new version of the MacBook Air, now powered by an M4 processor. Now, before I lose any of you budget-conscious shoppers, our pick for the best MacBook is actually one of the best values in the Apple lineup, thanks to some of their highest price cuts on Amazon to date. With up to $200 in savings attached, both the 15-inch version and its smaller 13-inch counterpart are dropping to new Amazon all-time lows.
Apple 15-Inch MacBook Air M4 in Starlight
The lowest price to date has now gone live on the new 15-inch MacBook Air. It sports an M4 chip for speedy performance today and well into the future. The 16GB of onboard memory also helps this MacBook stand up to years of use. Today's offer is $100 under the Memorial Day weekend discount and $25 below the previous all-time low.
Apple 13-Inch MacBook Air M4
Several colors of the smaller MacBook Air M4 are on sale today. Pricing starts at $812 with the Midnight design, which is also $73 below the tech deal I spotted on Memorial Day and the best offer to date.Read our review Apple just refreshed its MacBook Air series in March with its latest processors. The new M4 version improves everything our editors and readers have come to enjoy about the powerful laptop while keeping its compact design. When these new machines first hit store shelves, I had to check in with my friend and fellow CNN Underscored editor Henry T. Casey for his take. Before he published his review, which called it 'the best boring laptop [he's] ever used,' he shared much of the same sentiments as me.
Calling something boring might seem like a diss, but in this case, it's anything but that. When a company routinely updates a product, like the MacBook Air, it's no surprise that the newest iteration may lack exciting new features. For these MacBooks, that's exactly why we're such big fans. Apple is taking a tried-and-true approach, adding better performance to its beloved laptops instead of introducing gimmicks or questionable inclusions just for the sake of mixing it up. It's just more of what we've enjoyed from previous generations.
Casey's full MacBook Air M4 review sheds even more insight into that approach. If you're on the fence about the latest MacBook Airs, I'd recommend reading through to see just how it fared when being run through its paces by our tech expert. Casey didn't have an official confirmation of this at the time of his review, but the MacBook Air M4 would go on to become our pick for the best MacBook on the market, further solidifying just how good today's deals are.
Not everyone needs the latest and greatest laptop to get work done. As someone who's typing this on an older MacBook Pro, I certainly get that point, but if you're in the market for a new machine that you're hoping will last as far into the future as possible, today's discount on the MacBook Air M4 fits the bill.
Apple products are known for their incredible lifespans, and its MacBooks are no exception, especially when compared to the other best laptops on the market. The decision to take advantage of today's deal comes down to what you value most. If you'd like to spend a little extra on a future-proofed computer that'll last as long as possible, the MacBook Air M4 is the way to go. Otherwise, our pick for the best budget MacBook might be a better buy.
CNN Underscored has a team of writers and editors with many years of product testing experience as well as experience researching and recommending other buys, and they ensure each article is carefully edited and products are properly vetted. Why 1Password is The Travel Accessory I Never Leave Behind

This post is sponsored by 1Password. If you've ever tried managing a family trip, you know the chaos is real. Between booking flights, wrangling hotel check-ins, and keeping everyone's travel docs straight, the last thing you want to worry about is where you saved your Airbnb login. That's why 1Password has become my go-to travel tool-not just for me, but for the entire family. While 1Password is known as a password manager, seasoned travelers know it's much more. As Sophia Orlando, SheBuysTravel's CTO, explains: '1Password isn't just a place to store passwords (though it does that really well). It's where I keep everything I might need while traveling: passport numbers, credit cards, TSA PreCheck info, emergency contacts, frequent flyer logins, even random international transit apps I'll forget about a week later. And I know it's all secure.' This approach transforms what could be a scattered collection of login details, photos of documents, and hastily saved bookmarks into one organized, accessible place. No more digging through email threads to find that hotel confirmation number or trying to remember which app you used to book that cooking class in. Apple's iCloud Keychain does a good job of managing passwords, as long as everyone in your family is on an Apple device. However many families have a mixed tech ecosystem. Maybe your spouse is on Android, the kids have Chromebooks for school, and you toggle between Mac and PC for work. This is where 1Password's cross-platform compatibility becomes invaluable. Whether you're using iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, your family's digital life travels with you. The browser extensions work seamlessly across Chrome, Safari, and Firefox, ensuring that Disney+ login or that obscure transit app works regardless of which device you grab at the airport. Understanding 1Password's security model helps explain why it's particularly suited for travel. Your data receives end-to-end encryption protection, meaning no one, not even 1Password, can read your password. Added to that, everything saved in 1Password is encrypted locally on your device before reaching their servers. The Secret Key feature adds a second layer of protection, a unique, locally stored component that works alongside your Master Password. Think of it as a second lock on your safe that only your device knows about. Even if someone accessed 1Password's servers, they'd find only encrypted data. In that sense, it's like a safe deposit box at your local bank. As Orlando notes: 'From a technical standpoint, 1Password uses end-to-end encryption and a zero-knowledge setup, so even 1Password can't see what's inside my vault. That matters to me. But honestly, what I appreciate most is the peace of mind. If I'm in a different country and I need access to something important-I don't have to dig through emails or try to remember a password I created two years ago.' 1Password for Families introduces shared vaults that transform family travel coordination. Create a dedicated 'Summer 2025 Trip' vault and populate it with everyone's passport copies, the Airbnb reservation, insurance information, and that carefully curated list of must-try gelato spots. Instant access for everyone, with real-time syncing that eliminates the midnight 'Can you send me the flight confirmation again?' texts. Fellow SheBuysTravel author Jennifer Mitchell has experienced this transformation firsthand: 'We've been using 1Password for years, and it's been a total game changer for our family. It's so convenient to have all our shared logins-like streaming services or travel accounts-in one place. Plus, we each get our own private vault for personal items we need to keep track of. When we're traveling, it's quite handy to pull up flight details, hotel info, or rental car reservations without digging through emails.' One of 1Password's most underrated features addresses a uniquely modern travel concern: what happens when you need to cross borders with sensitive data on your devices? Travel Mode lets you temporarily remove sensitive vaults with a single toggle, showing customs agents or airport inspectors only what you choose to keep accessible. During a recent international trip, I activated Travel Mode before departure, keeping only essential travel information including flight details, hotel bookings, and emergency contacts, while temporarily hiding banking logins and tax documents. Once I reached my destination, everything returned with another simple toggle. The peace of mind was worth the feature alone. Travel involves uncertainty, but managing your digital life doesn't have to add to the stress. 1Password provides the infrastructure that lets families move confidently through airports, Airbnbs, and amusement parks with one less worry. 1Password is kicking off the summer travel season with a special offer. Use our links to save 50% off your first year, whether you choose an individual plan or a family plan, which enables you to set up accounts for up to five family members. My crew is on the Family plan, and honestly, it's fantastic. 1Password securely stores your passwords, documents, credit cards, and much more, making it an indispensable, easy-to-use tool for managing your digital life. New Apple ‘Lessons' Ad Highlights Student Learning As Mac Sales Grow In India

Apple Lessons ad Apple Apple MacBooks are arguably one of the best options for students, and the Cupertino giant is highlighting this in its new ad for India. Released on June 4, the new Lessons ad focuses on how students can use a Mac to 'level up' and make the most of their studies. This comes at a time when M4 Mac sales have seen double-digit growth in a quarter. The new Lessons ad encourages students to try different approaches to learning instead of mugging up answers. It showcases a few Apple Intelligence features like Summary in Writing Tools to turn a lengthy note into short bullet points, and how the MacBook Air M4 allows students to run multiple engineering applications, including AutoCAD, MATLAB, and more simultaneously. According to a report from Counterpoint, Apple saw 17% YoY growth in the global PC market shipments in Q1 2025. It was driven by M4 series Macs. In India, Apple had a 6% PC market share with 29% growth in 2024. The Cupertino tech giant has seen very strong momentum for its MacBook sales in the country—and there are various reasons for it. 'Education as a segment is increasing. Young professionals and even young students are opting for Macs, especially after the launch of their M series chipsets, because a lot of people believe and correlate that to performance and efficiency gains, which they offer,' says Tarun Pathik, Research Director at Counterpoint. The consumer financing and discounts on Apple products are also playing a major part in MacBook adoption in India. 'That [consumer financing and discounts] is one of the reasons why iPhone sales are growing in India at one of the fastest rates in the world,' he added. 'And this has led to an increase in Mac sales. We have always seen a very healthy step-by-step entry into the Apple ecosystem.' The first point of entry into the Apple ecosystem is the iPhone, which is followed by the AirPods, Apple Watch, iPad, and eventually a Mac. 'We are seeing that transition of such users who entered through iPhone a couple of years back and now they are reaching the level three or four to buy a Mac,' explains Pathik. While Apple is focusing on the education segment with its new ad, the Cupertino giant is also forming corporate partnerships that have contributed to its Mac growth. 'Indian companies like Zoho and Wipro have integrated Macs into their operations, which has increased Apple's enterprise adoption,' he said. With education and enterprise both driving momentum, Apple's Mac strategy in India seems to be working. The new Lessons ad is a timely push to deepen that growth.
