Jenna Bush Hager Gushes About Husband Henry's Support in Her Career

Yahoo13-05-2025

Just last month, Jenna Bush Hager gave fans a glimpse into her home life when her husband, Henry Hager, joined her as Today Show co-host following Hoda Kotb's exit. While he was nervous at first, chatting with his wife soon calmed the jitters, and fans loved getting to know behind-the-scenes stories of dating during her years in the White House, parenting their three kids, and more.
Speaking to SheKnows about their connection at the IT Cosmetics launch of the Do It All Radiant Concealer on April 22, Jenna gushed that her husband is one of the biggest reasons that she – you guessed it – does it all.

'My husband helps me do it all,' she tells SheKnows. 'I mean, we moved to New York because I got a job. He moved for me because he believed in me. And so he, you know, is my partner in everything.'
Jenna and Henry got married in May 2008 after four years together. They share kids Mila, born in 2013, Poppy, born in 2015, and Hal, born in 2019.
'I think the days of women doing it all, and the men doing nothing are done,' she says. 'So find somebody that's going to do it all with you, because having a team member, a teammate, is really important.'
'Obviously, he would be the first to say, 'Oh my gosh, you signed the kids up for all this stuff,' 'You do all of this,'' Jenna adds. 'But I couldn't do any of it, really, without him.'
While Henry's support certainly helps, there's one key principle Jenna follows to continue her roles as a mom, wife, TV host, book club leader, and so on.
'I feel like I do it all and kind of a wild, frenetic, messy way,' she says. 'I think when all women wear a lot of different hats, and we're constantly shuffling and reorganizing, and there's so much going on in our brains, and so I try to do it all without putting pressure on myself, being full of grace to myself as I would be to my best friends, which isn't always easy.'
'Even on the way here, I called my kids and they were like, 'What, you might be home after bedtime?' And the truth is, that's what all women are doing every single day,' she says. 'So I think I try to do it all with grace to myself, which means not putting pressure to do it all perfectly.'
It also helps to have a handy concealer, like the IT Cosmetics Do It All Radiant Concealer, to hide anything that needs hiding, too. 'I like things that are like, especially on the weekends with my kids, super simple, super clean,' she says. 'You put on one product and you go, which is one of the reasons why I'm obsessed with this product.'
Coming up for Jenna is Mother's Day next month, which will also coincide with Henry's 47th birthday and their anniversary (both on May 10th). 'There's a lot to celebrate, and sometimes his birthday gets the shaft, and sometimes my mother's day gets the shaft,' she laughs. 'But I like just hanging with the kids.'
'I don't have a wish list, and I do need to send something to my mom, but I just got to see her,' she recalls. On April 7, Jenna shared a sweet shot on Instagram of her having dinner with her sister, Barbara Bush, her mom, Laura Bush, and her dad, former president George W. Bush.
'We went to dinner with my sister, my mom, my dad and me, and because I've been married since I was a child bride,' she jokes. 'And my sister is married and I have three kids, that doesn't happen very often, and so that was so, so nice,' she says. 'I mean, it's really just, I want time, you know?'
With a sweet and supportive family like Jenna's, we'd also be wishing for more time!Best of SheKnows

Downton Abbey 3 Isn't Bringing Back Matthew Goode, But I Actually Like His Reasoning For Why This Is ‘A Really Positive Thing'

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. By the time Downton Abbey, one of the great Peak TV era shows, ended in 2015, Michelle Dockery's Lady Mary Talbot had been lucky enough to find love again, this time with Matthew Goode's Henry Talbot. The two of them were even expecting a child, and we got to meet little Caroline alongside her parents in the 2019 Downton Abbey movie. However, Henry wasn't around in 2022's Downton Abbey: A New Era and also won't appear in Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, one of the later 2025 movie releases. However, Goode sees his absence this time around as a 'really positive thing' for a specific reason, and I have to say, I like the way he's thinking. As far as why Goode isn't appearing in Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, it boiled down to scheduling conflicts, as he told THR that he was busy filming the British crime thriller series Dept. Q. The actor also mentioned that even if he had been able to carve out time, there was only 'half a page' of material for him. Goode continued: And actually, I said, you know what? Why can't this be a really positive thing? Because I don't know what they're doing. They might kill [Henry]! I didn't see the script. But it's a wonderful opportunity — [Mary, Michelle Dockery's character] is like this modern feminist icon and in a weird way, maybe she doesn't need a fella. Maybe Downton's enough or maybe some old suitor will come in. Now, it opens up the story to have something significant happen. Why have Henry come? I will admit that the idea of Mary losing another husband doesn't sit too well with me. Downton Abbey fans (who can currently revisit the show with a Peacock subscription) will obviously remember that Dan Stevens' Matthew Crawley was her chief love interest during the show's first three seasons, but he died in a car crash on the way home after seeing his newborn son in the hospital. In fact, Henry being a race car driver was the main reason Mary initially broke off her romantic relationship with him, as she couldn't bear the thought of losing another husband in a car crash. More on Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale Downton Abbey 3 Was Always Going To Be Difficult Without Maggie Smith, And Paul Giamatti Confirms 'It Was Not The Same' Downton Abbey 3's Michelle Dockery On The 'Beautiful' Third Movie And Honoring Maggie Smith But putting that aside, Mary did just fine without Henry by her side in A New Era, with his absence in that movie being attributed to him participating at a racing event in Istanbul. If Matthew Goode's musing that Henry Talbot could be killed off is correct, it's not like Mary is lacking in a support system to help her through this new round of grief, between her parents, sister, brother-in-law, the family's staff, the list goes on. My only request is that if Henry does indeed shuffle off this mortal coil, don't let it be from a car crash. It's also possible that nothing bad's going to happen to Henry, and whatever his small role would have been in Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale would simply have set up the reason for his exit. In any case, I'm ok with not seeing Mary with Henry again, nor do I need to see her take up another suitor. With this being the final film in the Downton Abbey franchise, I'd much rather see her spending as much time as possible with her family and other loved ones in her life. Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale opens in theaters on September 12. For the Matthew Goode fans out there, you're also welcome to watch him play Detective Carl Morck in Dept. Q, which can now be streamed with a Netflix subscription.

Miley Cyrus Sets The Record Straight On Her Estrangement With Dad Billy Ray Cyrus

Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus are back on better terms. The singer opened up about her strained relationship with her father in a vulnerable sit-down with The New York Times 'The Interview' podcast. Interviewer Lulu Garcia-Navarro asked Cyrus if she was still estranged from her dad, to which she said 'no.' 'I think timing is everything,' the 32-year-old said. 'As I've gotten older, I'm respecting my parents as individuals instead of as parents — because my mom really loved my dad for her whole life, and I think being married to someone in the music industry and not being a part of it is obviously really hard.' The 'Flowers' singer said she thought she 'took on some of my mom's hurt as my own because it hurt her more than it hurt me as an adult, and so I owned a lot of her pain.' Now that both of her parents are with other people, Cyrus said that she 'can love them both as individuals instead of as a parental pairing.' 'I'm being an adult about it,' she said. 'At first it's hard, because the little kid in you reacts before the adult in you can go, 'Yes, that's your dad, but that's just another person that deserves to be in his bliss and to be happy.' My child self has caught up.' Speculation swirled that Cyrus and her 'Achy Breaky Heart' father were on strained terms after her siblings appeared to take sides following their parents' 2022 divorce. Cyrus previously denied being estranged from her father in an interview with David Letterman last year, in which she spoke about Billy Ray's 'narcissism' and said she was mostly raised by her mother. During the sit-down, Letterman said, 'There's not estrangement here with your father, it's just, kinda, the way things are played?' 'Yeah,' Cyrus said at the time. 'I think, what is so beautiful is that my parents ― they served their children, and I know this. My parents served us and sacrificed so much for us. Anything we dreamed of, they made possible.' Despite Cyrus' denial of a rift with her father, the singer seemed to purposefully leave her father out of her acceptance speech when she won her first Grammy in early 2024. She thanked her mom, sister Brandi Cyrus and her boyfriend, Maxx Morando ― seemingly leaving out her other siblings and father on purpose as she shouted out: '...all the people that we love! I don't think I've forgotten anyone.' To add to the speculation, Miley Cyrus and two of her siblings attended their mom Tish's wedding to 'Prison Break' actor Dominic Purcell in 2023. Notably absent were Cyrus' two siblings ― Braison and Noah Cyrus, the latter of whom was photographed wearing a Billy Ray Cyrus shirt over Tish's wedding weekend. Princess Diana's Letter Two Days After Her Wedding Reveals Early Issues in Marriage To King Charles

A letter Princess Diana sent two days after marrying King Charles III in 1981 speaks volumes about the early stages of their marriage. The letter is one of 300 pieces available for auction by Julien's Auctions. The extraordinary collection, Princess Diana's Style & A Royal Collection, is one of the largest auctions of items that once belonged to the late Princess of Wales in history. More from SheKnows Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Reportedly Considered Another Last Name Before Embracing Sussex Dated July 31, 1981, the letter is from Diana to Mark Simpson, a footman at Buckingham Palace, whom she appears to be thanking for helping her early transition into life in the Royal Family. The letter reads, 'Dear Mark, I just wanted to thank you for all your kindness + patience you've showed towards me since I moved into B.P. My stay was made so much easier by your company as it was so terribly lonely + we had so many laughs for that I can't thank you enough. Do hope you were able to enjoy Wednesday + that you liked my dress? I'm off to Britainia tomorrow, what with all those men around. I will have to keep a watchful eye on Evelyn! The bad news is that I haven't eaten any cereal — sob. How am I going to cope without my bowls of cereal….[smiley face]. A large thank you for being you — Much love, Diana.' Just days after marrying the then-prince in a lavish London ceremony that was watched by upwards of 700 million people around the world, Diana makes no mention of her new husband and instead discusses feeling 'terribly lonely' in her new home. 'It's like a couple of days after she got married. She'd been living in Buckingham Palace as she was transitioning from being a normal person to being a royal and the future queen,' Martin Nolan, co-founder and executive director of Julien's Auction, told People about the letter. 'So she had to learn from the Queen Mother and the Queen about curtsying and all that. But she had fun with Mark Simpson, the footman. And he was about the same age, a little bit older than her,' Nolan adds. 'And she talks here, it speaks of how she was lonely when she was in the palace.' The letter shows early signs of distance between Diana, who turned 20 weeks before her wedding, and her 32-year-old husband Charles.
