Belgian Grand Prix starts after 90-minute rain delay
After an initial formation lap behind the safety car, a red flag was shown, the cars were brought back into the pit lane and the starting procedure halted.
"I can't see a lot behind the safety car so I can't imagine what it's like for everyone else," McLaren's pole-sitter Lando Norris, who is nine points behind championship-leading Australian teammate Oscar Piastri, said over the team radio.
After the long wait, the FIA cleared the race to start once standing water had been removed.

The safety car then led the field around to assess visibility before a rolling start was decided.
The rain-affected 2021 Belgian Grand Prix remains the shortest race in Formula One history with only three laps completed behind the safety car and half points awarded.
"We should just run," said Red Bull's reigning champion Max Verstappen over the radio when the red flags were shown. "They're way too cautious."
Nico Rosberg, the retired 2016 world champion, told Sky Sports television that there was little drivers could do other than wait.
"The conditions out there are horrendous and the race start will be extremely difficult," said the German.
"You can't see anything. You have long straights but must stay flat, but you're blind, looking left or right at the wall to find a brake marker board."
Piastri, second on the grid, made an immediate move to pass Norris as the race proper got underway.

She is on track for a third World Cup victory and will be looking to add the World Championship to her titles, but fourth is the highest she has managed to finish in this event. Zoe Claessens will be looking to go one better than last year when she finished second behind American Alise Willoughby. The Swiss rider is number one in this season's rankings and won bronze at the Paris Olympics. Great Britain's Beth Shriever is an Olympic gold medallist and heads to Denmark in pursuit of a third world title. In the women's Under-23 race, Great Britain's Emily Hutt is the name to look out for. She has finished second in the last two U23 World Championships and will be looking to claim the title for the first time. Men's races: France's Joris Daudet is the man to beat. His win last year at Rock Hill in the United States secured his fourth world title. His compatriot Sylvain Andre will be looking to continue a successful year. Andre is top of both the men's elite rankings and World Cup standings. However, he has not won the World Championship title since 2018. Ross Cullen is the highest-ranked Briton in this season's competition. He won round four of the World Cup and is sixth in the individual rankings. No British cyclist has been the men's world champion since Liam Phillips in 2013. Saudi Arabia are said to be the main suitor for Vinicius and have sounded out the Brazilian's entourage for months, with talk of a €1 billion per season salary for the player and a €350 million transfer fee for Real Madrid. However, while Real Madrid are said to be aware of the interest from the Middle-East, there has been no firm offer from Saudi Arabia to sign Vinicius so far. While a sensational offer from Saudi Arabia for Vinicius has yet to materialise in formal terms, the scale of figures reportedly being floated will likely draw the attention of Real Madrid's leadership. The departure of Vinicius, were it to occur, would require a statement-level response from Pérez and co., and Erling Haaland is considered the ultimate prize. But any pursuit of the Norwegian hitman would face immediate and firm resistance from Manchester City, where he is central to their long-term vision, both on and off the pitch. His status as a global commercial icon, his age, and his extraordinary scoring record make him one of the few truly untouchable figures in the squad. Furthermore, with Pep Guardiola under contract until 2027 and City continuing to refresh their squad around a young core, the idea of losing Haaland any time soon seems almost incompatible with the club's broader ambitions. This doesn't mean that Liverpool won't sign him, merely that given it's a deal of huge magnitude, it's going to take a long time to iron out the details. With Joe Gomez travelling back home from pre-season due to an injury, it has exposed a great need at centre-back for the Reds. Liverpool have already lost Jarell Quansah this summer, and they now have just two senior centre-back on tour in pre-season in Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk. This has seen Slot play Luca Stephenson, Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas at centre-back. It's becoming very apparent after the four goals conceded against AC Milan that this situation is not tenable going into the season. Liverpool need more depth in the centre-back positions, especially considering Konate and Gomez are both injury prone. This is therefore the obvious next transfer Hughes is going to sort out. And while the first name everyone will gravitate to is Marc Guehi, he might not be the clear choice. In fact, Liverpool may already be targeting someone else in the position, who could be an even better fit.
