This weekend, the Father of Mine and Son of Mine ebooks are free

Everybody loves free stuff.
This weekend, in honor of the fact that I'll be completing my 60th trip around the sun (if I make it two more days without dropping dead), I'm giving you free stuff.
From time to time, I've made the Father of Mine or Son of Mine ebook available at no charge. From Saturday through Monday, both are free.
As in free. Free, free. No charge. No strings attached.
Sure, it would be great if you read one or both — primarily since you'll enjoy the experience. It would be good if, after reading either or both, you drop a review on the Amazon page.
The goal is to get you to read for enjoyment. We were forced to read in school, and we hated it. Reading as an adult is a great way to break up the monotony of life, especially as we wait for football season to return.
The third book in the Father of Mine series is coming. For now, the final touches are being put on a football/mob/gambling story that hopefully will serve as a cautionary tale for the NFL regarding the ways that sports betting can create very real complications. Hopefully, it'll be available in August.
There's nothing complicated about this. On Saturday, Sunday, or Monday, get a free ebook copy of Father of Mine here — and/or a free ebook copy of Son of Mine here.
All I ever ask is to start reading. If you decide to stop, that's on me.

Why Beyoncé and BET Keep Calling Jesse Collins

There's a memorable scene in Beyoncé's 'Homecoming' documentary about her headlining performance at Coachella in 2018, when she asks a production crew member for a 30-foot-wide camera track. He tells her it doesn't exist. She then proves him wrong. The Emmy-winning television producer Jesse Collins remembers that moment well, so when the pop superstar called on him to produce her Christmas Day N.F.L. halftime extravaganza 'Beyoncé Bowl' for Netflix, he was ready to meet her demands. 'Hell no, I will never tell her something doesn't exist unless it really doesn't exist,' he said recently with a laugh, 'because she'll Google it and she keeps up with technology. If it can't happen, I am 1,000 percent certain it can't happen.' Collins, 54, has worked closely with Beyoncé on awards show performances, including her raucous rendition of 'Freedom' at the 2016 BET Awards, when she danced and kicked in a shallow pool of water. 'The water was one of the most complicated things that I've ever done on any award show,' Collins recalled in a video interview from his office in Burbank, Calif., in a comfy black hoodie as the sun beamed behind him. 'Most people try to get away from water,' he said, but an executive had promised it. 'When you start the conversation with, 'This was promised to Beyoncé,' everybody's like, 'We're going to make this happen.'' Making things happen is Collins's specialty, and it's why heavyweights like Oprah Winfrey and Jay-Z have recruited him for their projects. Want all of The Times? Subscribe.

Travis Kelce's Behavior Toward Taylor Swift in Viral Wedding Video Catches Attention

Travis Kelce's Behavior Toward Taylor Swift in Viral Wedding Video Catches Attention originally appeared on Athlon Sports. After a three-and-a-half month break from the public eye, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and girlfriend Taylor Swift haven't stopped popping up on social media quite a bit lately. The couple were spotted out in public on two date nights in Palm Beach, Florida, over the last week, and Swift ended her social media hiatus to announce the major news that she bought back the master recordings of her first six albums — 'Taylor Swift,' 'Fearless,' 'Speak Now,' 'Red,' '1989' and 'Reputation' — in a $360 million acquisition. And while Kelce and Swift likely knew both of their date nights would end up in tabloids and on social media at some point, they likely didn't expect their appearance at a wedding in Nashville on Friday night to go viral. But that's exactly what happened when one guest took a video of the couple dancing together int heir seats and posted it to TikTok. The video was then reposted by several other accounts and made its way to X as well, and fans couldn't stop talking about the behavior they saw from Kelce, who not only had his hand on Swift's knee as they danced together, but he also matched her vibe pretty well. Several fans — many of whom have been clamoring for a future Kelce-Swift wedding — hit the comment sections across both social platforms applauding the Pro Bowl pass-catcher for both supporting Swift's lighthearted side and embracing her playful nature in a way many of her followers believe her previous love interests never did. 'They match each other's energies so well and yet some people still insist she's in a miserable closeted situation instead of being happy for her that she found someone who treats her how she wants to be treated,' one fan wrote. 'The way my mouth DROPPED at that video. THEY ARE TOO CUTE,' another fan added. 'Taylor and Travis attending a wedding together and dancing together in their chairs 😭🥹💜,' a third fan expressed. 'They're such a supportive couple. God continue to bless them,' one user noted. 'His hand on her knee…' another user replied. 'I love that she's finally having a normal relationship,' remarked one fan. 'Awww #TNT/#Tayvis looked so happy and cute vibing together! Power couple's chemistry/aura over 13 million! 💕💞' another fan exclaimed. Kelce was able to fit the wedding in due to the break in the Chiefs' offseason schedule. The team wrapped up Phase 2 of OTAs on Wednesday, and it'll resume Phase 3 on June 10. After Phase 3 wraps on June 13, Kansas City has a three-day break before hosting mandatory minicamp June 17-19. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 7, 2025, where it first appeared.
