Aryna Sabalenka is facing an uphill climb to win this year's championship at Wimbledon. The world No. 1 ranked player has her hands full against American tennis star Amanda Anisimova.

Sabalenka suffered a scare at Centre Court during the quarterfinals, defeating Laura Siegemund 4-6, 6-2, 6-4. Following her win over Siegemund, she told reporters that she learned from her meltdown against Coco Gauff at the French Open.
"I think there's a big possibility that I would have lost this match if I didn't learn that lesson at the French Open," Sabalenka said. "In some moments I just ... kept reminding myself, 'Come on, it's the quarterfinal of Wimbledon, you cannot give up, you cannot let the emotions just take over you and lose another match.'"
While the spotlight will be firmly on Sabalenka throughout the Wimbledon Championships, it appears her boyfriend has everyone's attention this Thursday.

Sabalenka's boyfriend, entrepreneur Georgios Frangulis, has been by her side since April of 2024. Last summer, he celebrated her victory at the US Open.

"There was a really tough period where I was really happy to have him by my side, always cheering me up, always making sure that we are doing some fun stuff," Sabalenka said.
Frangulis is the founder of Oakberry, a global açaí brand that originated in his home country of Brazil.
Even though Frangulis has generated millions of dollars through Oakberry, he showed up to the Wimbledon semifinals in a pretty odd outfit. During the first set of Sabalenka's match, he was spotted in her box wearing a blank tank top.
Fans usually dress their best at Wimbledon. After all, it's one of the most prestigious tournaments in all of sports.

That being said, Frangulis is getting ripped on social media for his lackluster outfit.
If Sabalenka advances to the final, Frangulis may want to go with a different look for that match.

Rafael Nadal Sends Clear Five-Word Message to Iga Swiatek After Wimbledon

Rafael Nadal Sends Clear Five-Word Message to Iga Swiatek After Wimbledon originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Iga Swiatek finally got her hands on the Wimbledon trophy, delivering one of the most dominant finals in Grand Slam history. On Saturday, she needed just 57 minutes to defeat Amanda Anisimova 6-0, 6-0 in the women's singles final at Centre Court. The win marked Swiatek's first Wimbledon title and her sixth Grand Slam overall. It was also the first time in the Open Era that any player, man or woman, failed to win a single game in a Wimbledon final. Advertisement Soon after the historic win, tennis legend Rafael Nadal shared a short but meaningful message to Swiatek on X (formerly Twitter): 'Congratulations @iga_swiatek! Amazing tournament! 🌱💪🏼' The five-word message 'Amazing tournament' included was simple and respectful. Iga Swiatek (POL) stands on the South West Hall balcony holding the Venus Rosewater Dish after winning The Wimbledon 2025. Swiatek wasted no time in setting the tone. She broke Anisimova in the very first game and never looked back. The first set was done in just 25 minutes, with Swiatek hitting only two unforced errors compared to Anisimova's 14. The second set followed a similar script, with Swiatek again racing to a 5-0 lead before closing it out to complete the double bagel. Advertisement For Amanda Anisimova, it was her maiden Grand Slam final. The 23-year-old had stunned World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the semis but couldn't bring the same energy against Swiatek. Still, her run to the final will lift her into the top 10 for the first time in her career. Swiatek's win at Wimbledon now completes her major collection on all three surfaces clay, hard, and grass. It also came as her first Grand Slam title since her French Open victory in 2024. Saturday wasn't just another win, it was a record-breaking statement, applauded by legends like Nadal himself. William and Kate to attend Wimbledon men's final

The Prince and Princess of Wales will attend the Wimbledon men's singles final, Kensington Palace has said. The royals will watch defending champion Carlos Alcaraz take on world number one Jannik Sinner on Sunday afternoon, with Kate then presenting the trophy on Centre Court. Kate, who is patron of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, received a standing ovation when she arrived on Centre Court on Saturday to watch the women's singles final. The princess told runner-up Amanda Anisimova to keep her 'head high' after the American suffered a heavy defeat in Saturday's final. Kate consoled Anisimova, who was in tears, as she presented her runner-up prize. The princess then presented the trophy to Polish player Iga Swiatek, who won the title for the first time by beating Anisimova 6-0 6-0 in a final which lasted only 57 minutes. Speaking after the match about meeting Kate, Anisimova said: 'It was such an honour to meet her. 'She definitely had a few things to say that were making me emotional again. 'She was really kind and she told me to keep my head high.' Swiatek said receiving the trophy from the princess was 'surreal', adding that Kate told her 'some nice stuff about the performance' on Centre Court. The Wimbledon champion added: 'Since I was a kid, I'm a big fan of the royal family so it was amazing and I really appreciated that. 'And I'm really grateful that it was her royal highness giving the trophy.' Last year, Kate presented the Wimbledon men's final trophy to Alcaraz in her second public engagement since she announced her cancer diagnosis. The Princess of Wales's parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, were seen in the royal box on Monday, with the Duchess of Edinburgh and the Duchess of Gloucester also in attendance. Ahead of the women's final, the princess – wearing a white belted jacket and pleated skirt – met eight-year-old Lydia Lowe, who performed the coin toss at the women's wheelchair final. After shaking her hand, the princess asked the eight-year-old whether she was 'nervous' about tossing the coin, adding: 'Have you got any advice for me, because I've got to go out.' Lydia, who suffered a brain injury in January 2024, leaving her visually impaired and having to relearn to walk, talk and eat, replied: 'Don't be nervous. Take deep breaths.' The eight-year-old performed the coin toss while representing the Dan Maskell Tennis Trust, a charity supporting people with disabilities who play tennis by providing them with specialist equipment and grants. The men's singles final on Sunday, with highs of 29C predicted, is unlikely to break the record of the warmest closing day at the tournament, which was 34.1C on July 3 1976. The extreme heat during the 1976 tournament prompted organisers to allow umpires to remove their jackets.

Alfie Hewett's Wimbledon reign ended by Tokito Oda in thrilling final

Britain's Alfie Hewett lost his Wimbledon title to world number one Tokito Oda after an absorbing men's wheelchair final. The 27-year-old from Norwich, who won his first Wimbledon crown last year, was beaten 3-6 7-5 6-2 on a packed Court One. Advertisement Hewett was four from four on break points as he took the first set in 33 minutes. He broke Oda again as the Japanese teenager, who beat Hewett in the 2023 final, served for the second set at 5-4. But Oda broke back before holding to level the match, and then went a double break up in the decider. Hewett saved two championship points on serve and another in the next game, but Oda converted his fourth to secure his second Wimbledon title after two hours and 16 minutes. 'Last year was obviously such a special moment for me, but I don't think trophies compare to this atmosphere and this kind of support,' said Hewett.
