Juventus ensure Champions League action next season with victory at Venezia
Juventus booked a Champions League place next season as Manuel Locatelli's penalty secured a thrilling 3-2 victory at relegated Venezia.
Locatelli kept his nerve 17 minutes from time after Venezia, relegated with the defeat, had fought back in a vain attempt to deny Juventus finishing fourth in Serie A.

Daniel Fila fired Venezia ahead after two minutes and a quickfire Juventus equaliser through Alberto Costa was ruled out by VAR.

Juventus did level through Kenan Yildiz's fine finish after 25 minutes and Costa set up Randal Kolo Muani six minutes later.
Ridgeciano Haps equalised for Venezia 10 minutes after the restart, but Hans Nicolussi Caviglia brought down Francisco Conceicao and Locatelli calmly dispatched the spot-kick to guarantee Juventus joy and Roma pain.
Despite winning 2-0 at Torino, Roma came fifth and will play in the Europa League next season.

Leandro Paredes converted from the spot to put Roma ahead after 18 minutes and Alexis Saelemaekers soon added a second after the restart.

Atalanta were already assured of third place and Champions League qualification but lost 3-2 at home as Parma secured their top-flight survival.
Daniel Maldini scored twice in the space of 60 seconds to give Atalanta a comfortable half-time lead.
But Parma replied through Antoine Hainaut and a Jacob Ondrejka double, with the winner coming in the first minute of stoppage time.

Empoli's relegation was confirmed by a 2-1 home defeat to Verona.
Fiorentina qualified for the European Conference League spot next season at Lazio's expense with a 3-2 victory at 10-man Udinese.

Nicolo Fagioli, Pietro Comuzzo and Moise Keane – who scored the winner eight minutes from time – turned around an early deficit against Udinese hosts, who had Jaka Bijol sent off for two bookable offences before half-time.
Lazio finished below Fiorentina on goal difference and miss out on European football altogether after losing 1-0 at home to 10-man Lecce, who started the day in relegation danger.

Santiago Pierotti was sent off in first half stoppage time after Lassana Coulibaly had put the visitors ahead, but Lazio could not find an equaliser and were reduced to 10 themselves in the final seconds when Alessio Romagnoli saw red.
Barcelona celebrated their LaLiga title success with a 3-0 victory at fourth-placed Athletic Bilbao.
Robert Lewandowski scored twice in the opening 17 minutes and Dani Olmo converted a stoppage-time penalty as Barcelona finished the campaign with 102 goals, becoming the first LaLiga side to reach three figures since 2016-17.

Atletico Madrid had earlier made absolutely certain of third spot by routing Girona 4-0 in Catalonia.

Substitute Alexander Sorloth scored a second-half hat-trick and Clement Lenglet was also on target as Girona's disappointing season ended on a low note.
Fifth-placed Villarreal finished on the same points total as Bilbao by beating Sevilla 4-2 for a sixth successive victory.
Yeremy Pino and Papa Gueye struck inside the opening eight minutes before Djibril Sow gave Sevilla hope.
Alex Baena restored the two-goal cushion and Gueye added a fourth after the restart, with Ramon Martinez managing a late consolation for the visitors.

Sesko is on Arsenal 's shortlist as they look to sign a world-class striker in the summer transfer window, but so is Viktor Gyokeres – and that indecision could cost them. Mikel Arteta 's side know they need to splash the cash to sign a centre-forward this summer, having finished second in the Premier League for three straight seasons and come up short in the semi-finals of the Champions League. They have been monitoring Sesko for some time and came close to signing him last summer – yet their failure to move quickly could come back to bite them. Chelsea have already signed a striker this summer, having beaten Manchester United to the £30million signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich. Yet the Blues might not be done there, with another striker a real possibility. Enzo Maresca's side are currently locked in negotiations with Borussia Dortmund over the signing of winger Jamie Gittens. They have seen an initial offer of €35m (£29.5m) rejected by Dortmund, but are expected to return with an improved bid in the coming days. However, Sky Sports says they are also pondering whether to push for another striker, with Hugo Ekitike and Sesko on their shortlist. PSG star 'tempted' by Man Utd transfer as Ruben Amorim considers major change
Manchester United no longer has the pull it once had but a PSG star is nonetheless willing to leave the Champions League winners to join the Premier League strugglers. United endured a miserable 2025-26 campaign under Erik ten Hag and his successor Ruben Amorim, finishing just 15th in the Premier League table, some 24 points outside the Champions League places. The Red Devils fared better in Europe but losing to Tottenham in the Europa League final means Manchester United will not be involved in any European competition next season. Paris Saint-Germain, in contrast, enjoyed a stunning 12 months, winning their first ever Champions League trophy and a domestic double under Luis Enrique. One of the key members of Enrique's squad, despite the abundance of attacking talent in Paris, was Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma. L'Equipe say contract talks began 'several months ago' but a positive outcome is still yet to be reached, with Donnarumma's camp said to be disappointed by the terms offered in earlier offers. The French outlet say a number of clubs are monitoring Donnarumma's situation, with Manchester United and Manchester City showing interest in bringing the shot-stopper to the Premier League. United's interest in Donnarumma suggests Amorim is considering replacing current Old Trafford No. 1 Andre Onana, who endured an inconsistent season in Manchester. Onana featured in a Champions League final shortly before his £47m move from Inter Milan but has largely struggled at Manchester United. Man City, meanwhile, are looking for a long-term replacement for Ederson, who has spent almost a decade at the Etihad Stadium, lifting six league title. The 31-year-old Brazilian has been one of the best goalkeepers in the worldsince joining Manchester City but appears to be on the decline approaching his 32nd birthday. Asked about his future at PSG after lifting the Champions League trophy, Donnarumma said: 'I don't know yet what's going to happen. 'I haven't decided anything. For the moment, I want to focus on the matches with the national team, and nothing else. 'I will discuss the situation at the club in the coming days with the management and my staff. For now, it's still too early.' More Trending Donnarumma is not the only PSG player being linked with Manchester United. His teammate Goncalo Ramos has reportedly been offered to Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Amorim is desperate to sign a new striker this summer and Portugal international Ramos would be a cheaper alternative to Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko. Ramos, 23, scored 18 goals for PSG last season and has nine goals in 15 games for Portugal.
