This phone has twice the battery capacity of the Galaxy S25 Edge and costs less than $200

TL;DR HONOR just announced the X70 phone, set to go on sale on Friday in China.
Despite its $165 price tag, the HONOR X70 features a massive 8,300mAh battery and military-grade toughness.
At 8.2mm, it's about the same thickness as the iPhone 16 Pro.
A $165 smartphone wouldn't usually raise expectations about its specs, but one manufacturer clearly didn't get that memo. Despite the price tag, the new HONOR X70 boasts an insane 8,300mAh battery along with military-grade toughness, and it isn't even a brick.
In a new post on Weibo, HONOR confirmed that the X70 is now available for pre-order in China, with a full launch set for July 18. Despite the budget price, the phone boasts a battery that's more than double the size of the one inside the Galaxy S25 Edge, along with what the company calls the 'industry's first gold standard triple-drop protection.' It also features a new internal structure likened to a bulletproof vest, supposedly making the device resistant to impact on all ten sides.
The phone is rated IP69K — the highest level of protection under the IP standard. This means it can withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water jets and is completely dust-tight. Many flagship phones stop at IP68, and the X70 is also listed as meeting IP69, IP68, and IP66 standards.
Charging is similarly overkill. The device supports 80W fast charging both wired and wirelessly, which is rare at any price point. HONOR also claims the battery is rated to last six years of daily use without serious degradation.
According to the text in the promotional image, the phone measures 8.2mm thick — impressive for a device with such a large battery. That's not slim, but for context, it's roughly on par with an iPhone 16 Pro. The phone also features a 120Hz eye-care display, dual stereo speakers, and a 4,000-level 3D spatial positioning system that may enhance navigation and camera performance.
Color options include black, red, green, and marble white, and storage configurations range from 8GB + 128GB to 12GB + 512GB. Even the top model stays under $235. It's worth noting that these prices do include a 'national subsidy.'
There's no word yet on a global launch, but at this price, some buyers might already be looking for ways to import one.

FBI Warning To 10 Million Android Users — Disconnect Your Devices Now

Discconnect now, FBI warns 10 million Android users. Update, July 26, 2025: This story, originally published on July 25, has been updated with a statement from the researchers which initially disclosed and disrupted the BadBox 2.0 operation that the FBI and Google are tackling head-on. In March, I reported that one of the largest botnets of its kind ever detected had impacted over a million Android devices. That massive attack was known as BadBox, but it has now been eclipsed by BadBox 2.0, with at least 10 million Android devices infected. Google has taken action to protect users as best it can, as well as launching legal action against the attackers, and the FBI has urged impacted users to disconnect their devices from the internet. Here's what you need to know. The FBI, Google And Others Warn Of Android BadBox 2.0 Attacks The FBI cybersecurity alert, I-060525-PSA, could not have been clearer: ongoing attacks are targeting everything from streaming devices, digital picture frames, third-party aftermarket automobile infotainment systems and other assorted home smart devices. The devices, all low-cost and uncertified, mostly originating in China, allow attackers to access your home network and beyond by, the FBI warned, 'configuring the product with malicious software prior to the user's purchase.' It has also been noted, however, that mandatory 'software updates' during the installation process can also install a malicious backdoor. Point Wild's Threat Intelligence Lat61 Team reverse-engineered the BadBox 2 infection chain and, as a result, uncovered new indicators of compromise that have been shared with global Computer Emergency Response Teams, as well as law enforcement. 'This Android-based malware is pre-installed in the firmware of low-cost IoT devices, smart TVs, TV boxes, tablets, before they even leave the factory,' Kiran Gaikwad from the LAT61 team said, 'It silently turns them into residential proxy nodes for criminal operations like click fraud, credential stuffing, and covert command and control (C2) routing.' Google, meanwhile, confirmed in a July 17 statement that it had 'filed a lawsuit in New York federal court against the botnet's perpetrators.' Google also said that it has 'updated Google Play Protect, Android's built-in malware and unwanted software protection, to automatically block BadBox-associated apps.' Human Security Behind Initial BadBox 2.0 Disclosure And Disruption Human Security, whose Satori Threat Intelligence and Research Team originally both disclosed and disrupted the BadBox 2.0 threat campaign, said at the time that researchers believed 'several threat actor groups participated in BadBox 2.0, each contributing to parts of the underlying infrastructure or the fraud modules that monetize the infected devices, including programmatic ad fraud, click fraud, proxyjacking, and creating and operating a botnet across 222 countries and territories.' If nothing else, that provides some context to the scale of this campaign. Now, Stu Solomon, the Human Security CEO, has issued the following statement: 'We applaud Google's decisive action against the cybercriminals behind the BadBox 2.0 botnet our team uncovered. This takedown marks a significant step forward in the ongoing battle to secure the internet from sophisticated fraud operations that hijack devices, steal money, and exploit consumers without their knowledge. Human's mission is to protect the integrity of the digital ecosystem by disrupting cybercrime at scale, and this effort exemplifies the power of collective defense. We're proud to have been deeply involved in this operation, working in close partnership with Google, TrendMicro, and the Shadowserver Foundation. Their collaboration has been invaluable in helping us expose and dismantle this threat.' FBI Recommendations And Mitigations — Disconnect Your Devices Now The FBI has recommended that Android users should be on the lookout for a number of potential clues that your Chinese-manufactured smart device could be infected with BadBox 2.0 malware. When it comes to mitigation, the advice is straightforward: users should 'consider disconnecting suspicious devices from their networks,' the FBI said.

Bank of America says these five stocks have more room to run ahead of earnings

Bank of America said this week it sees a host of companies that are well positioned ahead of earnings. Analysts named stocks like Amazon that have compelling valuations or expected catalysts as quarterly reporting season continues. Other buy-rated names it cited include: Anheuser-Busch InBev, Oddity Tech , Bilibili and AppLovin. Oddity Tech The global beauty tech platform is firing on all cylinders, the firm wrote. Analyst Anna Lizzul praised the company's "innovative" digital offering in a recent note and says it has a wide moat for growth. "With the vast majority of its sales direct-to-consumer (DTC) we see ODD at a strategic vantage point to grow with this rise," she wrote. The firm also raised its price target to $80 per share from $68 in advance of the company's earnings report on Aug. 4. "We see ODD well positioned to benefit from the beauty category increasingly moving to online sales as consumers' preferred purchasing channels shift," she went on to say. Shares are up 64% this year. Bilibili Analyst Miranda Zhuang is standing by shares of the China-based online video platform. Bank of America recently attended an investor day and came away feeling even more constructive on the stock. "Management highlighted strategies centering on high-quality content, AI empowerment to content and monetization, long-lifecycle games," she wrote. Zhuang raised her price target on the stock to $27 per share from $25 citing the company's second-quarter earnings report in mid-August as yet another positive catalyst for the stock. "We reiterate our Buy rating given Bilibili's unique platform value proposition, long growth runway, and benefits from AI," Zhuang said. Bilibili shares are up 28% this year. Anheuser-Busch InBev Shares of the alcoholic beverage giant have plenty more room to run, according to the firm. The company is scheduled to report its second-quarter earnings on July 31. "Volume in Q2 will likely be held back, again, by China and the US, but we expect continued margin expansion in Q2, supporting +5.6% organic EBITDA growth," analyst Andrea Pistacchi wrote. However, despite the possible volume decline, the firm says there's plenty of other positive catalysts. "One of the main areas of focus for Q2/H1 results will be share buy backs," he said. Meanwhile, shares of the company are up almost 40% this year. "We continue to like ABI, as one of the most reliable staples compounders," he went on to say. Oddity Tech "An innovative consumer tech platform, ODD utilizes proprietary technology to provide consumers with product recommendations. We see ODD well positioned to benefit from the beauty category increasingly moving to online sales as consumers' preferred purchasing channels shift. ... With the vast majority of its sales direct-to-consumer (DTC) we see ODD at a strategic vantage point to grow with this rise." Bilibili "Management highlighted strategies centering on high-quality content, AI empowerment to content and monetization, long-lifecycle games. ... We reiterate our Buy rating given Bilibili's unique platform value proposition, long growth runway, and benefits from AI. ... We expect 2Q ad business to benefit from good ad spend from ecommerce campaigns and the digital products category." Anheuser-Busch InBev "Volume in Q2 will likely be held back, again, by China and the US, but we expect continued margin expansion in Q2, supporting +5.6% organic EBITDA growth. .... One of the main areas of focus for Q2/H1 results will be share buy backs. ... We continue to like ABI, as one of the most reliable staples compounders." AppLovin "APP remains top pick under coverage. We see big upside to CY26 EBITDA expectations, with this print potentially prompting upward revisions; the vast majority of investors we spoke with appear to exclude both a continued managed service onboarding ramp, and a major self-serve ramp in CY26." Amazon "Expect retail beat, AWS growth in focus for 2nd half. ... We think Amazon's focus on the customers and the buyer experience is right for the Internet. We think Amazon is well positioned to capitalize on the global growth of eCommerce and other secular trends such as cloud computing, online advertising and connected devices." Read more.
