Sudan's RSF says seized border area with Egypt, Libya as army announces pullout
The Sudanese military announced on Wednesday that it has withdrawn from a key area bordering Egypt and Libya, while the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) issued a separate statement claiming its takeover.
The announcements came a day after the army accused forces loyal to eastern Libyan commander Khalifa Haftar of launching a cross-border attack alongside Sudanese paramilitaries, the first accusation of direct Libyan involvement in Sudan's war.

Israel urges Egypt to block Gaza-bound activist convoy
Israel's defense minister on Wednesday called on Egypt to block a hundreds-strong pro-Palestinian activist convoy from reaching Gaza as the group arrived in the Libyan capital of Tripoli. "I expect the Egyptian authorities to prevent the arrival of jihadist protesters at the Egypt-Israel border and not to allow them to carry out provocations or attempt to enter Gaza -- an act that would endanger the safety of (Israeli) soldiers and will not be allowed," Israel Katz said in a statement. Israel orders military to stop Gaza-bound yacht carrying Greta Thunberg
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz told the military on Sunday to stop a charity boat carrying activists including Sweden's Greta Thunberg who are planning to defy an Israeli blockade and reach Gaza. Operated by the pro-Palestinian Freedom Flotilla Coalition (FFC), the British-flagged Madleen yacht set sail from Sicily on June 6 and is currently off the Egyptian coast, heading slowly towards the Gaza Strip, which is besieged by Israel. "I instructed the Israeli army to act so that the Madleen ... does not reach Gaza," Katz said in a statement. "To the anti-Semitic Greta and her Hamas-propaganda-spouting friends, I say clearly: You'd better turn back, because you will not reach Gaza." Climate activist Thunberg said she joined the Madleen crew to "challenge Israel's illegal siege and escalating war crimes" in Gaza and highlight the urgent need for humanitarian aid. She has rejected previous Israeli accusations of anti-Semitism. Reuters
