i2Cool's Radiative Cooling Technology to Drive Global Sustainability in UN-Backed FIRST Programme
The FIRST Programme has emerged in response to urgent global challenges, including climate change, biodiversity loss, water scarcity, and the need for clean energy transitions. With a strong focus on innovation and international collaboration, the programme aims to accelerate progress on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Led by CityUHK in collaboration with UNESCO, i2Cool, and a diverse network of international partners, the initiative represents a concerted global effort to build a sustainable future through science, technology, and cooperative action.
Mr. Tse Chin-wan, BBS, JP, Secretary for Environment and Ecology of the HKSAR said "With the endorsement of the UNESCO, the FIRST Programme sets a powerful example of how collaboration and innovation can create a more sustainable future for all. I am pleased to support this initiative and look forward to seeing its positive impact on our community and beyond."
Professor Freddy Boey, President and University Distinguished Professor of CityUHK, said, "I am delighted that CityUHK will lead this crucial initiative to address sustainability challenges by developing affordable innovations in collaboration with our global partners. Ir Prof. Edwin Tso Chi-yan, co-founder of i2Cool and Associate Dean (Internationalisation and Outreach) at CityUHK 's School of Energy and Environment (SEE) , has been appointed as the FIRST Programme Director. Commenting on the launch, Prof. Tso stated, "We will kick off the first phase of the FIRST Programme in June 2025, targeting pilot regions with hot climates and limited access to reliable electricity."

Among these, passive radiative cooling technology developed and implemented by i2Cool distinguishes itself through its mature product platform and extensive global deployment experience to provide critical support in high-temperature and resource-scarce areas.
Since its founding, i2Cool has been dedicated to advancing " green cooling + social benefit" through its "Cool Down for a Better Summer" initiative. This initiative has already reached over 7,000 square meters in climate-vulnerable communities worldwide. In total, i2Cool's innovative cooling technology has been implemented across more than 380,000 square meters in nearly 30 countries and regions, resulting in over 200 successful projects.

Fabrizio Romano has essentially confirmed that one Premier League star will join Liverpool. It seems this one is going to happen. Liverpool have been busier than anyone in this transfer window as they've overhauled their squad. It seems we're either seeing Guehi arrive at Liverpool in the next two weeks or we're seeing it next summer, then. Romano certainly believes so. We imagine a lot of it might hinge on what Real Madrid plan to do with Ibrahima Konate. He's also out of contract in a year and Los Blancos want to sign him. Maybe they'll wait, but maybe they'll try a late push. Guehi would certainly be an ideal replacement.

Dillon Gabriel takes apparent swipe at Shedeur Sanders, saying 'There's entertainers and there's competitors'
Dillon Gabriel appeared to throw some shade in addition to his 18 passes during his preseason debut on Saturday for the Cleveland Browns. After sitting out the Browns' preseason opener with a hamstring injury, Gabriel got the start versus the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and played respectably. He completed 13-of-18 passes, but one of them was returned for a pick 6 by Eagles rookie safety Andrew Mukuba. Yet Gabriel didn't necessarily let his performance speak for itself. Interviewed on the sideline after Tyler Huntley took over at QB, he appeared to take a swipe at fellow rookie Shedeur Sanders, with whom he's competing for a spot on the Browns' depth chart and perhaps a spot on the roster. "There's entertainers and there's competitors, and I totally understand that," Gabriel said. "But my job is to compete. And that's what I'm focused on." Interpreting that comment as a dig at Sanders could be taken the remark out of context. But the exact exchange went like this: Kinkhabwala: "You gave us some fabulous wisdom on how you tune out the noise and don't let it infiltrate yourself, Will you share that with everybody at home?" Gabriel: "Yeah, it's just part of it. You know, there's entertainers and there's competitors, and I totally understand that. But my job is to compete. And that's what I'm focused on." Gabriel was asked about demonstrating leadership and talking to receivers and running backs on the sideline in the previous question. So it's possible he was continuing some thoughts on that, even though Kinkhabwala went on to another question. Another possibility is that Gabriel remembers what he heard at Oregon — perhaps head coach Dan Lanning, in particular — about facing Sanders and Colorado. Lanning infamously made a pregame locker room speech in which he told his players, "They're fighting for clicks, we're fighting for wins." However, Bo Nix was Oregon's quarterback that season. Gabriel was at Oklahoma. And the Ducks did not play the Buffaloes during his lone season at Oregon after transferring. Yet it's not difficult to imagine that Gabriel talked to his former coaches and teammates before he was preparing to compete against Colorado's outspoken QB in a competition for a roster spot. As a third-round draft pick, Gabriel's place on the roster seems more assured than Sanders, who was selected in the fifth round. Yet Sanders has received decidedly more attention from media and fans because of his drop down the NFL draft board and his self-promoting persona at Colorado that continued leading up to the draft. In his preseason debut, Sanders threw for 138 yards and completed 14-of-23 passes with two touchdowns. Yet Gabriel's remark, especially the "entertainers" crack, didn't seem to be addressing the media. Maybe it was a good-natured swipe. But it could certainly be picked apart and become a topic during the upcoming week of practice. As a result, Gabriel possibly created the very noise he was asked about tuning out.
