A cold front will take away above average temperatures
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. ( WBTW) — Temperatures are significantly warmer this morning, with most cities in the 50s. Skies will be clear this morning, and clouds will slowly increase throughout the day ahead of a cold front. The afternoon will be dry and warm, with temperatures in the mid- and upper-70s.
A cold front moves through this evening with a few showers. The Pee Dee should expect rain from 5-8 p.m. and the Grand Strand from 8-11 p.m. Not much accumulation will come. It will be light rain. The front will set the temperatures back into the low-60s on Friday.
The Myrtle Beach Marathon is Saturday morning and runners should expect sunshine and upper-40s at 7 a.m. The afternoon will be warmer with highs in the upper-60s at the coast and mid-70s inland, but another cold front approaches Saturday night into Sunday.
No rain is expected with Sunday's front and temperatures will lower to the upper-50s Sunday and Monday, then gradually warm again next week.

One or Two Stronger Storms Possible Late Thursday

Wednesday, June 11 forecast: Heavy downpours to soak some areas through Friday
Early summer heat & humidity came with more of a summer sky as well as clouds bubble up into isolated downpours. The rain was isolated today, but it will become much more widespread over the next couple of days. Download our KOLR 10 weather app A slow-moving stormy system will swirl north out of Oklahoma and Texas through Thursday. Isolated evening downpours will give way to mostly cloudy skies and peek-a-boo moonshine. As the storm approaches, light rain on the leading edge of the storm will spread in from the south as we approach sunrise. This will make for some wet roads as we start Thursday, mainly over Southwest Missouri into Northern Arkansas. Most of this rain looks very light. That wave will fade Thursday morning with some peeks of sun possible. Temperatures will climb through the 70s with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms flaring up heading through the afternoon. Locally heavy rain will be possible along with a few lightning strikes. Thursday night into Friday, the core of the storm will move through. Pockets of heavy rain and embedded thunder will remain possible through the period. There will be just enough instability and wind energy to keep an eye out for an isolated severe weather risk. Heavy rain will be the biggest concern, though. The slow movement of areas of rain, which could be heavy, will lead to a risk of locally heavy rainfall totals and flooding risk. The slow-moving system will move out on Saturday. Rain chances over the weekend, especially Saturday, look much lower with many areas remaining dry. Sunnier skies will also bring early summer heat back to the area. A more summer-like look to the pattern will be taking hold as we move into the following week. We can expect some pop-up showers and thunderstorms most days, but most areas will remain dry. Temperatures will creep higher at night and during the day. 90° will likely remain just out of reach for most areas, but we'll be getting close. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc.
