Los Angeles Metro highlights bus system improvements in wake of study on delays
In a statement, Metro pointed out that the agency had already identified the delays and the affected routes and has been working since 2020 to alleviate issues through its NextGen Bus Plan.
The problematic major streets identified by the Streets for All study — Van Nuys and Wilshire boulevards, for example — 'are the corridors we are focused on under the NextGen Bus Plan to bring speed and reliability improvements,' Metro said.

'Through collaboration with riders, the community, elected officials and our jurisdictional partners, we are advancing the bus priority treatments most appropriate to the line or corridor being analyzed in support of reducing travel times and improving reliability for our riders,' Metro added.
Metro also detailed some of those methods of increasing speed and reliability:
More than 24 miles of new bus lanes are under design or pending construction, in addition to more than 70 miles of bus lanes already created by the agency
More enforcement of tickets for those parked in a bus lane
The implementation of up to 125 improved bus stops by 2028 using bus bulbs and bus boarding islands, which 'offer more space for passengers while allowing the bus to stop in the travel lane, eliminating delays buses normally experience when trying to merge back into traffic'
Transit signal priority, which extends green lights for buses and shortens red lights if a bus is waiting, is being newly implemented or upgraded at more than 2,400 signals

‘Plenty of Reasons,' Says Investor About Tesla Stock
To listen to Tesla, Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) CEO Elon Musk, the sky is truly the limit. The company head made some bold pronouncements on the company's Q2 earnings report last month, such as the prediction that 'we will probably have autonomous ride-hailing in probably half the population of the US by the end of the year.' Of course, world-changing ambitions are nothing new for Musk, who has made no secret of his designs of making Tesla the most valuable company in the world. Many investors are happy to go along for the ride, though it has been a bumpy one over the past year. While TSLA's share price is up 71% over the past twelve months, 2025 has seen its shares of ups and downs and it has fallen 16% for the year. Indeed, Musk's declining popularity across large swaths of the U.S. and Europe – key markets for Tesla – drove EV sales down during the first half of the year. Despite the eye-watering figures of the technologically ambitious projects, one investor known by the pseudonym Hunting Alpha is latching onto the real-world numbers. The investor believes that these provide plenty of reasons for why TSLA is a no-go zone for now. 'I continue to be bearish on the stock due to mounting challenges in its current business and seemingly overoptimistic expectations on new developments,' explains Hunting Alpha. The investor cites the expiration of the EV tax credits, which add another pressure point for declining sales figures. Though Hunting Alpha does acknowledge that there could be a sequential increase this quarter as consumers rush to buy EVs before the $7,500 cushion goes away – CFO Vaibhav Taneja encouraged buyers to 'place your order now' – the investor anticipates a 'sharp demand slowdown' in the months that follow. Another cause for concern is the 'robotaxi dream,' which the investor believes is a bit farther out on the horizon than bulls might be hoping for. Take Musk's pronouncement that the company will available for half the U.S. by the end of the year. Currently, Hunting Alpha points out, Tesla is present in just two major regions – Austin, Texas and the San Francisco Bay Area – which are home to roughly 9 million people. 'Going from 9 million to 174 million in just 5 months seems rather unrealistic to me,' emphasizes Hunting Alpha, who reminds investors that there some 347 million Americans. While the future might be bright, it's just not enough for Hunting Alpha at present. 'I cannot ignore the headwinds in its current business,' concludes Hunting Alpha, who rates TSLA a Sell. With 14 Buys, 15 Holds, and 8 Sells, TSLA holds a consensus Hold (i.e. Neutral) rating. Its 12-month average price target of $307.23 has a downside of ~9%. Robot Driver Puts Ranger Super Duty Through Ford's Harshest Test
Ford does not believe in being gentle with its trucks. To prove the Ranger Super Duty can take punishment, the brand sends it straight to the harshest road it could find. Since it didn't meet their standards, Ford built their own. At Ford Australia's You Yangs Proving Ground in Victoria, there is a stretch of man-made hell called Silver Creek, and it is where the Ranger earned its stripes. Silver Creek is not your everyday 4x4 trail. Instead of a creek bed filled with smooth stones, Silver Creek has 300 randomly scattered bumps, each a different size and shape, purposefully designed to push the chassis' limits. Ford says "a single run on Silver Creek generates over 2000 suspension movements," and it especially targets "the durability of engine and body mounts, joints, and connectors". Everything from top to bottom gets pushed to its limit, and Ford claims the test is equivalent to 10 years' abuse from driving in harsh conditions. Judging by the above video of the SIlver Creek test, it would not just take a toll on Ranger, but anyone behind the wheel too – yes, it's that rough. As a result, Ford programmed an autonomous robot to pilot the Superduty up and down the track. This mechanical daredevil ran the Ranger Super Duty over Silver Creek 24 hours a day, in rain, hail, and shine. racking up more than 2,000 suspension movements in a single pass. The aim was to push every mount, joint, and connector to their limits without mercy. As if things were not difficult enough, the Ranger Super Duty faced Silver Creek while loaded to its maximum gross vehicle mass of 4,500 kg (9,921 lbs). The forces pounding through the truck in that state are brutal, far exceeding what most owners will ever put it through. And that is exactly the point. If it can survive Silver Creek fully loaded, it can survive just about anything an owner might throw at it.
