Thrilling and Fun New Trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson's ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER — GeekTyrant

Geek Tyrant24-07-2025
Warner Bros has released the second official trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson's upcoming film One Battle After Another , and it looks like Anderson's most action-driven project yet.
The movie promises an intense blend of political intrigue and personal stakes. The story follows Bob Ferguson, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, a former revolutionary on a desperate mission to rescue his daughter after she's arrested.
The official logline reads: 'When their evil enemy resurfaces after 16 years, a group of ex-revolutionaries reunites to rescue one of their own's daughter.'
The movie is inspired by Thomas Pynchon's postmodern novel Vineland , and it feels like a gripping mix of Anderson's meticulous character work and explosive, large-scale action.
The cast includes Regina Hall, Sean Penn, Alana Haim, Teyana Taylor, Wood Harris, Benicio del Toro as 'Sensei,' Shayna McHayle, and Chase Infiniti as Ferguson's daughter.
The new trailer teases more character dynamics and escalating tension, all leading toward a high-stakes showdown between Bob and the feds. As one might expect from PTA, the visuals are rich with grit and atmosphere, and the tone hints at a slow-burn thriller that explodes into chaos when the moment comes.
Watch the trailer below and get ready for what is sure to be a great film. One Battle After Another when it's released in theaters on September 26th.

Liam Neeson Says He Knew Pamela Anderson Was ‘Wonderful' From The Moment They Met

Pamela Anderson and Liam Neeson were friends before they started dating, but their first impressions of each other suggest that a spark was always there. The Naked Gun co-stars appeared on SiriusXM's Radio Andy with Andy Cohen and spoke about their first meeting. Neeson began, 'Well, you know, we had never met before [filming The Naked Gun], and I remember thinking, "Wow, she is gorgeous," but she had this wonderful sense of silliness and just humanity about her. I don't want to blow her head up, but it was like I just felt an ease with her, you know, and we discovered a silliness with each other, which was terrific, you know?' Anderson had similar praise for Neeson, saying, 'Well, I was nervous to meet him, of course, and you're always nervous the first day on the set, and it was just easygoing and very silly, which puts you at ease and very silly, on and off.' This is far from Neeson's first time praising his new partner. During his appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert last night, he called Anderson 'great' and 'terrific.' Back in October, he spoke about being smitten with his co-star, who plays his love interest in the film. 'With Pamela, first off, I'm madly in love with her,' he told People. 'She's just terrific to work with. I can't compliment her enough, I'll be honest with you. No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She's funny and so easy to work with. She's going to be terrific in the film.' Anderson and Neeson recently started dating. On July 29, People broke the news, with a source telling the outlet, 'It's a budding romance in the early stages. It's sincere, and it's clear they're smitten with each other.' That same day, a source told Us Weekly, '[They] always had chemistry while they were filming, and their friendship naturally developed into more.' Pamela Anderson brought old school glamour to 'The Naked Gun' premiere in London on Tuesday. The actress wore a custom strapless gown courtesy of Rodarte for the red carpet occasion. Anderson's dress featured a flattering silhouette, with a formfitting bodice and a square neckline. The dress' construction included a cinched waist for added silhouette definition, with the skirt of the orchid-tone gown flowing behind her, creating a small train effect. The bodice included crisscrossing fabric to the waist. A detail at the back featured two bands of flowing chiffon fabric from the waist. ‘Coyote vs. Acme' Debuts First Footage as Will Forte Reflects on Salvaged Film: 'I Had Given Up Hope'

After a very bumpy road, Coyote vs. Acme's team took to San Diego Comic-Con to celebrate the movie finally heading to the big screen and announce its forthcoming release date. 'I'm pretty speechless,' Will Forte told the crowd about the movie landing a release from Ketchup Entertainment after being dropped by Warner Bros. 'It blows my mind. You think back to the journey this movie has taken. I had kind of given up hope at a certain point, so this is amazing.' Coyote's failed attempts to thwart the Road Runner, which was set to Johnny Cash's version of the Nine Inch Nails hit 'Hurt.' Later, Wile E. Coyote happens to see a TV commercial from attorney Kevin Avery, as played by Forte. 'Have you ever pulled the rip cord of your parachute and only silverware comes out?' the character says in the footage. 'It's not your fault.' The footage led to plenty of laughs and cheers from the supportive crowd. The film's team announced that Coyote vs. Acme is set to hit theaters on Aug. 28, 2026. Notably, no one on the panel, including castmembers Eric Bauza and Martha Kelly, director Dave Green and moderator Paul Scheer, mentioned Warner Bros.' name in discussing the project's challenging path. Forte praised Wile as 'a character that never gives up' but added, 'The real hero of this movie is all of you guys sitting in those seats. Like Wile E. Coyote, you guys were an underdog who fought against a major corporation, and because you never gave up, this movie is now going to come out in wide global release.' Later, the team screened six more minutes of footage, which included co-star John Cena defending Acme in a courtroom scene. 'What I will prove to this jury is that this man, Wile E. Coyote, he is reckless,' Cena says in the sequence. A disaster involving the defense team's evidence leads to a fiery explosion in the court. Afterward, Forte's character gets a phone call from a mysterious source who sounds distinctly like Bugs Bunny. 'I think I may be able to help with with Acme,' the unnamed friend says. 'I have an associate with information.' The panel ended with the team debuting the movie's action-packed teaser trailer. In late 2023, The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that Warner Bros. planned to scrap the completed movie as part of a $115 million write-down. Social media uproar helped to save the project, which Ketchup Entertainment acquired for distribution in March. The film centers on attorney Kevin Avery (Forte) representing Wile E. Coyote in a lawsuit against the Acme Corporation over his failed attempts to catch the Road Runner. Green directed the film from a script by Samy Burch, with Burch, James Gunn and Jeremy Slater credited for the story. The film features Looney Tunes characters and is based on Ian Frazier's 1990 New Yorker article 'Coyote v. Acme.' 'I never thought it would happen, so it just came out of nowhere, and I'm so thrilled,' Forte told THR earlier this year about the movie landing distribution. 'I'm so excited for people to see this movie. I'm gonna promote the crap out of it. Just tell me what you want me to do and I'll go, I'll do whatever — go to the top of Mount Everest, I'm there.'
