Former Love Island USA contestant Yulissa Escobar has opened up about her unceremonious exit from the show's seventh season after videos of her making racial slurs resurfaced online.
Escobar, who was one of 10 original singletons to join the reality series' current season, was quietly removed last month in episode two. At the time, the show's narrator, Iain Stirling, simply stated that 'Yulissa has left the villa,' without further elaborating.
It was later reported that her departure came amid immense fan backlash over old podcast clips showing her using the N-word.
The Miami-born entrepreneur has now spoken out in a new TikTok video to share the 'real story' of her exit.
She prefaced the video, admitting that while she 'can't share certain things,' she 'will share the majority of what happened.'

'So, regular ass day. I did not wake up in the middle of the night, they didn't get me in the f***ing morning. They didn't drag my ass out of bed,' Escobar explained.
She said she was sitting and waiting with the other contestants for the arrival of bombshells Cierra and Charlie, when she was then called to the front to meet with the producers, expecting it was just to film a confessional.
But she soon realized 'something serious was happening' when a producer asked her to take off her mic.
'I honestly got scared, I thought something was happening with a family member or something. I didn't know what was going on,' Escobar said. 'They didn't really tell me anything, they just said, you know, a video resurfaced [on the] internet and it's not looking too good.'

She explained that at that point, because she didn't have her phone, she wasn't sure what video they were referring to.
After the producers confirmed she was being sent home, she was taken to a hotel and left without her phone for two days while awaiting the release of the two episodes she appeared in.
During that time, she 'was losing my f***ing mind because I didn't know what was going on. I just knew that there was a video out there.
'So finally, I got my phone back, and when I got my phone back, I was like, 'Holy s*** no way,' and it was a lot. It was a lot to take in,' she said, adding that she continued to frantically search her name on the web.
'And I was like, f***, no. I can't believe people think I'm racist. I mean, I get it, I said a word that I should have not said,' Escobar acknowledged.
'I wish I would have never said that,' she said. 'It is what it is. I can't go back in time. I am sorry that I said that word.'
Escobar previously addressed the controversy in a June Instagram post, apologizing for using 'a word I never should've used, a racial slur.'
'I used it ignorantly, not fully understanding the weight, history, or pain behind it. I wasn't trying to be offensive or harmful, but I recognize now that intention doesn't excuse impact. And the impact of that word is real. It's tied to generations of trauma, and it is not mine to use,' she wrote.
'At the time, I was speaking casually in conversation, not thinking deeply or critically about what I was saying. But that doesn't take away from how wrong it was. The truth is, I didn't know better then, but I do now. I've taken the time to reflect, to learn, and to grow from that moment.'

JoJo Siwa addresses pregnancy rumours amid her budding romance with Chris Hughes

JoJo Siwa has addressed rumours she could be pregnant after one of her videos went viral on TikTok. The Dance Moms alum, 22, is in a relationship with Chris Hughes, after they met on Celebrity Big Brother in April. On Wednesday, she asked her fans to play the game '2 truths & a lie' - before she read out three statements, one being a lie and the other two being truthful. She then said: '1. I've never smoked a [cigarette] 2. I'm pregnant 3. This song comes out on Spotify Friday.' JoJo was playing into online speculation that she could be expecting after Chris gently rubbed his finger over her tummy during a recent TikTok video. Fans wrote things like, 'Pregnancy craving???' as she tucked into a plate of red food. Another wrote: 'When the pregnancy craving is red 40,' and another penned, 'r u pregnant?' After JoJo shared the 'two truths and a lie' video, social media users jumped to the comments to choose which option was the lie, while others applauded JoJo for nonchalantly poking fun at the pregnancy speculation. A fan typed, 'Everyone's saying it's 1 or 3, meaning everyone thinks she's pregnant,' and another added, 'You Gonna be a Dance mom.' 'Not you addressing the pregnancy rumors in the most hilarious fashion,' one shared, and another penned, 'Joelle not u egging on the pregnant rumors. Youre too funny.' Others replied to the comment and said, 'She's brilliant smiling her way through life is the key' and 'She's doing it in style and hitting the silly rumors out of the park.' On TikTok, a number of videos have since been posted as fans shared their personal reaction to the speculation as well. It comes as her cover of Bette Davis Eyes was released on Friday after a social media clip of her singing it at a show went viral. JoJo decided to record a studio version of the track for fans, and said: 'Performing Bette Davis Eyes live in London was one of the most thrilling moments on stage. 'The crowd's reaction was so amazing, I knew I had to release it as a single. The song is a classic, full of confidence and mystery, and I wanted to bring my own interpretation to it while honoring the original. I can't wait for my fans to experience it!' Siwa has previously opened up about her plans for parenthood in the future during an interview with Cosmopolitan last year. A fan typed, 'Everyone's saying it's 1 or 3, meaning everyone thinks she's pregnant,' and another added, 'You Gonna be a Dance mom' 'Not you addressing the pregnancy rumors in the most hilarious fashion,' one shared, and another penned, 'Joelle not u egging on the pregnant rumors. You're too funny' She explained at the time that she wanted to have three babies at the same time with different surrogates. 'Because I'm gay and I have to plan a pregnancy much different than a straight person, I actually want to take three eggs, fertilize three eggs, and have three surrogates,' JoJo stated. 'So technically, they'll all be [from] the same batch but they would all be born separately. Then maybe their little birthdays will land on different days and they can be like triplets, but like, not.' The dancer than said to the outlet that her three babies will 'be here' in three years 'whether you like it or not.' The performer has been promoting her new cover of the Kim Carnes song Bette Davis Eyes on Instagram - which dropped on Thursday. Last month, JoJo set the record straight on her sexuality amid her budding romance with Love Island star Chris Hughes while talking to E! News. It was confirmed in June that the singer and TV personality are dating after first crossing paths on Celebrity Big Brother U.K. a few months earlier in April. Siwa first came out as part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021 - and initially identified as pansexual before coming out as lesbian. However, JoJo expressed to the outlet that she is queer. 'I think the most beautiful term now is queer. I think queer is an umbrella of, "Look, I'm just me,"' the performer stated. 'And I think the most beautiful thing about the LGBTQIA community is love. And that goes both ways.' Siwa continued, 'There's loads of beautiful, different sexualities. Sexuality and queerness is a lovely rainbow that has all different places, and it also has places on this rainbow that we don't even know exist yet.' The star brushed aside criticism and explained, 'I feel so in the right position for myself. I feel so content with my happiness. 'I feel so relaxed and at ease with where I'm at. I feel so happy and peaceful that the love that I feel is so real. You can't really help who you fall in love with.' JoJo also briefly talked about her new beau Chris and revealed that she has 'never 'second guessed' what she feels for the reality star. 'Therefore, I've never second guessed my happiness, I've never second guessed what I'm feeling. And I think that's the most beautiful thing. When I think about him, I'm full of pure joy. When I speak about him, I'm full of pure joy.' Back in April, the dancer first crossed paths with Hughes on Celebrity Big Brother - where they first developed a close friendship. But their bond caused viewers to speculate that there was more between them and in April following the show's afterparty, JoJo notably split from girlfriend and Australian influencer Kath Ebbs. Siwa also publicly confirmed her new romance with Chris during an interview for Capital Radio. She admitted that their relationship was no longer 'platonic' and said that she was 'head over heels' for Hughes. And during an appearance on Capital Breakfast, JoJo described their relationship as 'earthquake proof.' JoJo - who has had the chance to meet Hughes' parents - also stated that she is very happy with Chris and said that he makes her want to be a better person each day. Earlier this week, Siwa was ridiculed by fans after she unveiled a new look as she shared a glimpse at a new music video on Monday for her Bette Davis cover. The star also altered the lyrics in tribute to her boyfriend Chris. JoJo could be seen sported platinum blonde hair that was curled into a vintage-inspired style. She also wore pearls around her neck and a light blue bralette top with ruffled details. The look was in stark contrast to her previous one in recent years - such as opting for bold ensembles and heavy eye makeup. One penned on X: 'Never thought I'd see the day where JoJo Siwa gets a boyfriend and becomes a trad wife,' referencing to the term 'traditional wife' that has shown women on social media playing a conventional role at home. 'She's setting us back decades, making men think it was actually "just a phase" and they can actually "turn us straight" if they want to. It's so bad,' another wrote.

Mark Wright 'signs up for much-loved television show' with cast rumoured to include Molly-Mae Hague and JoJo Siwa - three months after the birth of his first child with Michelle Keegan

Mark Wright has reportedly agreed to appear on the next instalment of Celebrity Bake Off. The reality TV star, 38, will be joining a star-studded cast on the much-loved Channel 4 show, with Molly-Mae Mague and JoJo Siwa two of the celebrities rumoured to have signed up. If the speculation is true, it would mark the radio host's first television appearance since the birth of his daughter Palma Elizabeth in March, who he shares with wife Michelle Keegan. Filming for the show, which is set to air next year, is believed to have already finished. A source told The Sun: 'Mark has had his hands full being a new dad but he found time to film for the new series of Celebrity Bake Off. 'It's a cause close to Mark's heart as it's all for the Stand Up Cancer charity and he is a big fan of the show. 'It won't air until next year so fans will have to wait a good few months to find out how he fares in the tent.' After the most recent series of Celebrity Bake Off finished in March, speculation about the possible cast for next year's follow-up has been rife. While both Molly-Mae and JoJo have been rumoured to enter the tent, Babatunde Aleshe was the latest star to have reportedly signed up last month. The 38-year-old previously featured on I'm A Celeb in 2022. A TV insider told The Sun: 'Babatunde is guaranteed to be hilarious and will no doubt have plenty of banter with Paul, Noel, Caroline and Alison. 'He's not known for his prowess in the kitchen so there's sure to be some panicky moments laced with the good humour he's known for. 'His energy on the Gogglebox sofa has always been pure positivity and very infectious, and bosses are hoping he'll bring that to the tent.' Former Love Island star and influencer extraordinaire Molly-Mae's rumoured inclusion would mark her long-awaited return to reality TV. A source seemingly confirmed speculation about her appearing on the show, saying: 'She will be a great addition to the line-up and bring a healthy helping of Love island glamour to the tent. 'Molly's now one of Britain's biggest TV stars and has seen her fame steadily grow since she first appeared on the ITV dating show back in 2019.' Mark's decision to join Molly, JoJo and Babatunde in the tent comes after 'the biggest achievement of his life', welcoming his new-born with Michelle, 38. Having married in 2015, it wasn't until a decade later in March of this year that the couple announced the birth of their first-born. It's thought that they chose the name Palma because of their strong links to Mallorca, which has been their go-to holiday destination for years and the setting of their pregnancy reveal photoshoot. Appearing on his Heart Breakfast show with Olly Murs a few days after his daughter's birth, Mark recalled the moment he got to hold her for the first time. The former TOWIE star said: 'Mate, it's actually hard to put into words. 'It's the biggest achievement of my life it's all I think about but obviously, hats go off to my wife she is an absolute superhuman, a superhero for bringing this baby into the world.' Sharing his appreciation for Michelle, he added: 'It makes you realise what our mums did for us and makes me have so much more respect than I already had and what women had to go through. 'It's the best feeling in the world. I wake up every morning just so excited to see her face.' He continued: 'That moment when I held her in my arms, it gets me emotional now thinking about it. 'I suppose everything else goes out the window and its made me realise what life is all about and my little baby Palma I love you so much and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you.

Love Island star Tina Provis slams Cierra Ortega's apology for use of anti-Asian slurs on Love Island USA as she reveals childhood pain

Tina Provis has slammed Love Island USA contestant Cierra Ortega's apology for repeatedly using an anti-Asian slur as she calls for people not to 'brush off' instances of 'casual racism'. The Love Island Australia winner, 29, penned a lengthy post to Instagram on Thursday after Cierra, 25, was booted from the Love Island USA villa due to mounting backlash over her use of the slur 'chink' in past social media posts. 'Love Island USA removed a contestant for a racist slur that resurfaced online. Let's talk about why this is important,' Tina began in her post. 'In my experience, Anti-Asian racism has always been quickly brushed off. 'The same people that want to fall back 'but I didn't know it was racist' are the SAME PEOPLE complaining when you make a stand up and point out why something is racist,' Tina said. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the Daily Mail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. On Wednesday, Cierra issued an 'accountability' video, in which she said she is 'truly deeply sorry' for using a racial slur and reiterated that she 'didn't fully understand' the meaning behind the offensive term. 'I do not, and have never, condoned racism or the repression of any cultural group in any form,' Cierra wrote. 'I would never intentionally use any word, especially a slur, to tear down anyone's culture or community. When I used that word, I didn't fully understand what it meant or how much pain it carries.' The backlash against her began earlier this month, when fans discovered two social media posts (from January 2015 and February 2023) in which Cierra had described her own smile as 'chinky' and said that she wanted Botox for her eyes. Tina, who won Love Island Australia in 2021 with her ex-partner Mitch Hibberd and has also starred on I'm A Celebrity! Get Me Outta Here, questioned how Cierra could not have known the meaning of the word. 'If you're calling out an ethnic groups features as undesirable, it is racist,' she wrote. 'If we continue to let comments slide because they 'aren't that racist' or 'they didn't meant to be racist', then we're excusing and encouraging a culture of casual racism.' The Chinese-Australian then revealed how 'insecure' anti-Asian slurs made her feel about her appearance whilst was growing up in Sydney. 'There was a time where my eyes were one of my biggest insecurities, because from an early age I faced casual racism,' Tina said. On Sunday night's episode which streamed on Peacock, narrator Iain Stirling confirmed that Love Island USA contestant Cierra Ortega (pictured) 'left the villa due to a personal situation' and had left Nic Vansteenberghe 'officially single' By the time she was 18-years-old, Tina turned to heavy makeup in attempts to alter her appearance because she'd so often hear friends say they 'looked Asian' if they didn't like a photo of themselves. 'If I was getting dressed up, I never would be seen without dark eyeshadow, attempting to 'hide' my eyelids and I would've screamed seeing a picture of myself like this without false lashes,' she said. Tina also recalled being teased in primary school, including one incident where a male classmate chased her around the playground whilst pulling back his eyelids. 'I've come a long way in becoming confident in my identity and that's why I have these conversations, I want other young people to feel the same,' Tina concluded in her post. However, Tina said she's not surprised by the sheer volume of people defending Cierra online. 'I'm not shocked to see that a lot of people online are defending her, because the slur that she used is "not as bad" as other racial slurs,' she said. 'There are hundreds of comments of people claiming that they didn't even know it was a derogatory comment, which just goes to show how anti-Asian racism is downplayed and tolerated much more than it would be in other communities.' Cierra is the second person to be removed from Love Island USA this season over past remarks, with Yulissa Escobar abruptly outsed for using the N-word in past social media posts.
