GARDEN lovers are rushing to Asda to snap up flamingo trees that will add instant privacy to your garden.
With summer now upon us, and the Met Office predicting glorious days ahead, many of us are likely planning to spend lots of time relaxing in the garden.

Shoppers are flocking to Asda to snap up bargain flamingo trees

However, there's nothing worse than sitting outside with a glass of wine and a good book, only to realise that your nosy neighbour is peeking at you over the fence.
Putting up a large fence around your garden may seem like the obvious choice to keep away prying eyes, but this can be expensive - and can sometimes lead to disagreements with neighbours.
For a simple solution, flamingo trees grow tall and quickly, meaning that they will easily shroud your garden from prying eyes.
Salix trees, which are more commonly known as flamingo trees are native to the UK and are popular due to their bright pink foliage, which is a similar shade to the flamboyant birds they are named after.
This makes them perfect for adding a splash of colour to your garden, whilst also ensuring your outdoor space is shrouded from prying eyes.
Eagle-eyed shoppers recently spotted the elegant trees on sale at Asda.
One garden lover, posting in the Extreme Bargains UK Facebook group said: "Salix Flamingo Trees are £13 At Asda."
Alongside the post, the shopper shared a picture of the puffy pink trees on display at the popular supermarket.
Flamingo tree fans raced to the comments section of the post, to share their delight at the discovery.
One person said: "I bought one a couple of years ago it is still looking good every year."

How to create privacy in your garden
CREATING privacy in your garden can be achieved in a number of ways depending on your budget, and the size of your space. Here are some effective ways to enhance privacy in your garden:
1. Fencing Install a tall, solid wooden or vinyl fence. This is one of the most straightforward ways to gain immediate privacy. Or use lattice panels, trellis, or slatted fencing to add a decorative touch while still offering privacy.

And The Range is currently selling the trees for the slightly pricier cost of £14.99.
The chain advised shoppers via a Facebook post: "Flock to stores before these fly away!"
Delighted users swarmed the post with one person writing "I love these" and another adding "I need these for my garden".

Major update as Scottish university gets set to axe 300 full-time jobs

Dundee University has now opened a voluntary redundancy scheme after coming up with an "alternative pathway" to solving the financial crisis at the institution. But under new proposals last month, around 300 roles will now be cut through a voluntary programme. The scheme was put together after talks with campus trade unions and approved by the university court. Voluntary redundancy was opened today and will run until July 25, The Courier reports. Staff who accept the deal will leave their jobs by September 30. A spokesperson added: "This is an important step in the recovery plan for the university, as we look to reduce staffing by 300 fulltime-equivalent through the voluntary scheme." The cuts were first revealed by interim principal Professor Shane O'Neill during a meeting, where he cited "the current financial crisis" as the reason behind the decision. Professor O'Neill had previously warned MSPs that the university could run out of cash by June without lifeline support. The Scottish Funding Council has since approved a £22 million emergency support package, and an investigation into the crisis has been launched. The uni has also lodged a full funding request for £100million bail-out. University Challenge contestant admits 'I don't understand the question' as they struggle to answer in quarter-final - but could you get it right? Labour MSP Michael Marra previously described the job losses as "devastating" for university staff and the Dundee economy. The job losses come amid an ongoing debate over university funding in Scotland. Critics argue that the Scottish Government's "free" tuition model is putting severe pressure on university finances, leading to limits on the number of Scottish students accepted onto courses since international students pay higher fees. Dundee is not the only university in Scotland to plan to cut jobs this year. Around 350 employees of the University of Edinburgh have accepted voluntary severance as part of ongoing efforts to reduce costs. And the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) plans to axe 75 jobs.
