Eze, 27, is a boyhood Arsenal fan and had no hesitation when they came calling as he turned his back on a move to Tottenham who were offering the same terms as Crystal Palace. Gallas actually says that it is more about ambition than emotion when it comes to transfers and claims that he may not play as much at Arsenal but they are still the bigger club. Gallas told betting website Gambling Zone: 'It's always the same question in this situation. What does the player really want? You know, he will try to see what is in the best interest for himself. It'll be about money. It will be about if he will have enough time, enough minutes to play. 'If you're Eze, you don't want to go from Crystal Palace, where you were the main guy, to move to one of the biggest clubs if you're not going to play much. You don't want to join a club and become frustrated with your minutes. 'Eze will try to find the best solution for himself. Even if Spurs won the Europa League last year, you probably have more chances to win things at Arsenal over the next few years. 'Arsenal got close to winning the Champions League last year, but then they came up against Paris Saint-Germain and made a mistake - they didn't take their chances and were punished. So it really depends on how he sees his career. Does he want to play every week or does he want to get his hands on more trophies?' Tottenham did win the Europa League last season which got them a passport into the Champions League for this coming year. Arsenal have won just one trophy under Mikel Arteta but reached the Champions League semi finals, have finished runners-up in the last three seasons and clearly have convinced Eze about their ambition an ability to win again.

Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand will no longer be working as a pundit for TNT Sports this season having explained why he has moved with his family to Dubai Rio Ferdinand has revealed why he has relocated to Dubai after bringing his 10-year stint as a TV pundit to an end, with the former Manchester United star describing the move as a fresh start after decades of his life being dictated by the football calendar. Ferdinand, 45, said that the move was driven by a combination of lifestyle, family and education factors, as well as the desire to step back from a life bound by the increasingly hectic fixture schedule as a leading face for TNT Sports. He announced at the end of last season that he would be stepping aside from his commitments to the broadcaster but maintains his own successful podcast business. 'There's not one reason,' he told The National. 'I went for the Global Soccer Awards at Christmas and I hadn't been there properly for about seven or eight years. We spent time with some of Kate's friends who live there and I just saw a different side to it. I also have a business out there, Football Escapes.' The ex-England centre back also highlighted Dubai's family-friendly environment as a major attraction and said he was impressed by the education opportunities on offer to his children having paid a visit to schools back in February along with partner Kate. 'In Dubai, it feels like they're valued and the lifestyle means that they're happy and vibrant with a good energy for the kids. Lifestyle, safety, weather — it's just a new life,' he said. 'When I made the decision, I thought, 'this must be 30 years when my life has been driven by the fixture list. Not now.' I'm not leaving football, but it's just not the governing body of my life now. I've got to be honest, it feels nice. 'The education system felt different, felt better for my kids. The children who are coming are 14, which is perfect because it's their two years of GCSEs starting this August. Then we've got a four and a two-year-old, so it's perfect timing for them as well. Pep Guardiola lifts lid on meeting Liam Gallagher as he hails Oasis reunion tour
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was spotted attending Oasis' homecoming gig this summer and has revealed what meeting legendary frontman Liam Gallagher was like Pep Guardiola has opened up on his meeting with 'kind' Liam Gallagher after praising Oasis as the 'best rock band of the last 50 years'. The Manchester band have been intrinsically linked with Premier League side Manchester City ever since bursting on to the scene in the 1990s. Both Gallagher brothers are huge fans of the club, but Guardiola returned the favour this summer during Oasis' much-anticipated reunion tour. The Spanish tactician attended their Heaton Park concert in Manchester in July and got the chance to meet Liam for the first time. Speaking about his experience, Guardiola said: 'It was really good. The first time I've been in this country so it was nice. Being here in Manchester, the first time. 'They came here after many, many years. They have been the best rock band in the last 50 years. And I'm happy it's back. 'It's the first time I knew Liam. Noel I've been with many times (at City games) but Liam I never met before and I met him before the concert and he was so kind.' And while Guardiola was delighted to meet Liam, his highlight was the concert itself, having praised Oasis as one of the best music groups of all time. He added: 'I don't know how many countries they sold out but that means how good they have been. When (people) say this team will be one of the best, I always say, 'Ask me after 25 years'. 'Then if people still talk about that team, it was a good team. It's like a book, if after 25 years people read the same book, that is a good book. 'It's like Oasis, no? They come back again and sold out all around the world, it is because they are good. Otherwise, it's not sold out.' Guardiola attended the Heaton Park concert sporting a classic Man City shirt alongside daughter Maria. The Spaniard also got the chance to meet the Gallagher brothers' children including Liam's sons, Lennon, 25, and Gene, 24, as well as Noel's three children, Anais, 25, Donovan, 17, and Sonny, 14. Noel has recently given his verdict on City's summer business and claims some players need to be sold. Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: 'The numbers? No. If Pep says it's [the squad] too big then it's too big. 'But if you look at the players who weren't even on the bench, Rodri, Foden. It's too many.
