'I saw JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes - one thing made me think romance is genuine'

Daily Mirror27-05-2025

JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes may be accused of amping up their relationship for publicity, but after seeing them up close and personal during JoJo's intimate London concert on Monday night, I'm convinced it could be the real deal.
As the Dance Moms star took to the stage at North London bar Colours Hoxton, her rumoured boyfriend Chris was supporting from the back of the room as he stood in the DJ booth for the duration of the concert.
And it was Chris' seemingly close bond with JoJo's mum, Jessalynn, which made me think the romance is genuine. Clearly getting the seal of approval from the star's family, Chris spent the evening laughing and chatting to Jessalynn, who even placed a supportive hand on his shoulder at one point as they whispered amongst one another.
The duo appeared at ease with one another after having first met last week during Chris' surprise trip to the US for JoJo's 22nd birthday, with the Love Island star seemingly fitting right in to the family dynamic.
After the show, both Chris and Jessalynn interacted with JoJo's fans and smiled for selfies with the adoring crowd. They were then directed backstage together to catch up with the singer, before JoJo and Chris went home together.
JoJo and Chris met inside the Celebrity Big Brother house and had fans invested in their close friendship which appeared to be developing into more inside the house. "Thank god for Big Brother," JoJo shouted to the crowd during her gig on Monday, as she added that the months since leaving the show had been the "best of my life".
While the couple are yet to confirm if they are officially together, they were pictured kissing in Mexico last week and have posted a series of gushing messages to one another on social media - alongside a string of PDA filled snaps.
However, the overload of PDA has some accusing the pair of broadcasting the relationship for publicity. One person who has jumped on that theory is Chris' ex Olivia Attwood, whom he dated for eight months after meeting on Love Island in 2017.
After a fan posted to TikTok that they 'needed' to know what Olivia's reaction to the relationship was, the reality star implied Chris was with JoJo for the fame as she commented: "She's really famous".
However, watching JoJo on stage, it was clear the performer couldn't contain her smile every time she looked over to Chris, who was also holding in some giggles.
After performing a cover of Kim Carnes' Betty Davis Eyes, during which she changed the lyrics to 'Chris Hughes' eyes', an undeniably giddy JoJo fixated on Chris as she smiled over to him.
That wasn't the only shoutout to her fellow reality star either, as JoJo also came out on stage in a bedazzled Sunderland shirt at one point - admitting she had learned a lot about the team since meeting Chris.
Publicity stunt or not, JoJo and Chris seemed pretty smitten to me.

One person asks: 'Move it to the Isle of Wight?' Another asks: 'What if we turn it into musical?' leading Maya to sassily question the move with 'Why?' Another says in Japanese: 'Love Island, on ice?' to which Maya replies: 'Never!' Unhappy with all the suggestions, Maya pushes the paper off her desk and shouts: 'No!' She adds: 'This year I want more drama, more bombshells, more break-ups, more make-ups. I want more twists. I want more twists than ever.'

A 60-year-old song is a viral hit thanks to TikTok — even if the singer wasn't sure what it is

TikTok often popularizes songs from music's biggest and buzziest artists. But one of the most viral songs right now was recorded in 1961. More than six decades ago, singer Connie Francis recorded enough music to fill three albums. Buried on the back of one of those records was the song 'Pretty Little Baby.' It wasn't nearly as popular as her other hits of the time, including 'Stupid Cupid' and 'Who's Sorry Now?' But in recent weeks, the forgotten song has found new life on TikTok. Millions of videos have been created with the song on the audio-forward app. It's been featured on videos from everyday users to popular influencers and celebrities. Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner are each featured in videos set to the 60s-era tune. Streams of the song are growing. It's now on some of Spotify's playlists of popular, viral songs. Francis posted about her now-viral hit on Facebook, writing, 'My thanks to TikTok and its members for the wonderful, and oh so unexpected, reception.' She wrote that she was 'clearly out of touch,' because when she found out the song was trending on TikTok, her initial response was to ask 'what's that?' But she's not out of touch anymore.

I'm A Celebrity star 'signs up' for latest edition of Celebrity Bake Off

A former star of I'm A Me Out of Here has reportedly signed up for the latest edition of the Bake Off in a Stand Up To Cancer special The latest famous face to be signed up for the Great British Bake Off is said to have been confirmed. Former I'm A Celebrity star Babatunde Aleshe has reportedly agreed to another reality TV show following his stint in the jungle. The comedian, 38, starred on the ITV show Down Under in 2022, and is now said to be ready to test his culinary skills. It's claimed Babatunde will take part in the Stand Up To Cancer special of the hit Channel 4 show. ‌ "Babatunde is guaranteed to be hilarious and will no doubt have plenty of banter with Paul, Noel, Caroline and Alison," a source said. ‌ Speaking to the Sun, the TV insider continued: "'He's not known for his prowess in the kitchen so there's sure to be some panicky moments laced with the good humour he's known for. "His energy on the Gogglebox sofa has always been pure positivity and very infectious, and bosses are hoping he'll bring that to the tent." Other names reportedly signed up for the unique edition include JoJo Siwa. Hot on the heels of her Celebrity Big Brother appearance - where she met Chris Hughes - the Dance Moms star is claimed to be set for another UK reality TV show. The 22-year-old American singer boosted her profile on the opposite side of the Atlantic in April when she was a contestant on ITV's Celebrity Big Brother - she already had a huge stateside following. Now it has been reported that JoJo will be popping up on Channel 4 and testing out her culinary skills. A source claimed:"This is a bit of a coup for the Bake Off because Jojo is currently one of the most talked about young stars on TV right now. ‌ "She's barely had time to catch her breath, leaving CBB last month amid huge media attention and heading straight into another huge show this month. It's also a fantastic gig for her because although she already has a fanbase over here, the cookery contest also introduces her to a wider British audience," the source added to The Sun. "Plus she got plenty of experience of cooking in front of the cameras while she was on Celebrity Big Brother, though this time she won't have hunky Chris to distract her." ‌ JoJo and Chris' budding friendship stole the show in the Big Brother house. Speculation was rife they were more than just friends, with JoJo revealed to have dumped fiance Kath Ebbs at the wrap party. Snaps have since emerged of the singer kissing the 32-year-old former Love Island star while they were on holiday together in Mexico. They have continued to pair special mentions to each other on social media following their exit from the CBB house.
