Dutch manufacturing output prices edge up 0.4% in March
The modest rise reflects a larger year on year (YoY) drop in crude oil prices, which strongly influence industrial pricing trends.
In March, the average price of North Sea Brent crude stood at €66 (~$75.00) per barrel—over 15 per cent lower than in March 2024. This compares to €72 (~$81.82) in February 2025, down nearly 5 per cent from a year earlier.
As a result, output prices for petroleum derivatives declined by 11.4 per cent in March, deepening from an 8.0 per cent drop the previous month. The chemical sector also saw pressure, with output prices falling by 1.2 per cent in March after a 1.1 per cent rise in February, as per CBS.
Month on month (MoM), manufacturing output prices dipped by 0.5 per cent. Export market prices fell by 0.3 per cent, while domestic prices dropped by 0.8 per cent, signalling weakened demand and lower input costs.
Dutch manufacturing output prices rose by 0.4 per cent YoY in March 2025, easing from 1.4 per cent in February, due to falling crude oil prices. Brent crude averaged €66 ($75), over 15 per cent lower YoY. Petroleum derivative prices dropped 11.4 per cent, and chemical product prices fell 1.2 per cent. MoM, output prices declined 0.5 per cent, with export prices down 0.3 per cent.

Oil India share price tanks 5% post Q1 results; check stock strategy here
Oil India share price today: Shares of state-run oil and gas company Oil India fell over 5 per cent to hit an intraday low of ₹401 after the company reported a decline in revenue and flat profit for the June 2025 quarter (Q1FY26). At 12:05 PM, Oil India stock was trading 5 per cent lower at ₹403.55 per share compared to the previous day's close of ₹425.1 per share on the NSE. In comparison, NSE Nifty50 was up 0.3 per cent at 24,560 levels. The market capitalisation of the company stood at ₹65,999 crore. The stock has plunged 47 per cent from the 52-week high of ₹767.9 touched on August 30, 2024. Oil India Q1 results In the June 2025 quarter (Q1FY26), Oil India reported consolidated revenue from operations of ₹8,749.94 crore, down 6.4 per cent from ₹9,350.89 crore in the year-ago period. The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (Ebitda) stood at ₹2,808.6 crore, down 12.7 per cent compared to ₹3,218.2 crore in Q1FY25. Net profit remained almost flat at ₹1,896.4 crore against ₹1,885.8 crore in the year-ago period. Additionally, the company highlighted that during the quarter, it made a hydrocarbon discovery at the Namrup-Borhat OALP block and commenced gas production from the Bakhritibba Discovered Small Field (DSF) block located in Rajasthan's Jaisalmer District. JM Financial on Oil India According to analysts at JM Financial, Oil India's standalone Ebitda of ₹2064 crore was higher than their estimate of ₹1,950 crore (but lower than the consensus of ₹2,280 crore) on better gas sales volume and realisation, though it was partly offset by slightly lower crude sales volume and realisation. JM Financial maintained a 'Buy' rating on the stock with a target price of ₹500 based on the Brent crude price assumption of USD 70 per barrel (while CMP is discounting USD 60 per barrel of net crude realisation). However, the brokerage firm slashed its FY26 PAT estimate by 2.9 per cent, accounting for impairment loss of ₹3.1 billion in Q1FY26 in respect of two overseas blocks in Bangladesh. The brokerage expects Oil India's earnings to grow at a robust 16 per cent compound annual growth rate (CAGR) over the next three to five years, driven by a sharp 20-30 per cent output growth in the next two to three years aided by commissioning of Indradhanush gas pipeline and expansion of NRL refinery from 3mmtpa to 9mmtpa. At CMP, Oil India trades at 6.3x FY27E EPS and 1.0x FY27E BV. About Oil India Oil India is a Maharatna company owned by the Government of India. Rupee falls 6 paise to 87.69 against U.S. dollar in early trade
The rupee traded in a tight range and slipped 6 paise to 87.69 against the U.S. dollar in morning trade on Wednesday (August 13, 2025) as depreciation pressures are still lingering amid persistent foreign fund outflows. Forex traders said the rupee is trading in a narrow range as the Reserve Bank of India has stepped up its efforts to curb excessive rupee depreciation. At the interbank foreign exchange market rupee opened at 87.63, then touched an intra-day low of 87.69 against the U.S. dollar in initial trade, lower by 6 paise from its previous close. On Tuesday (August 12, 2025), the rupee appreciated 12 paise to close at 87.63 against the U.S. dollar. In initial trade, the rupee touched an early high of 87.61 against the greenback. Following the U.S. CPI release, the probability of a Fed rate cut on September 17 rose sharply to 90% from 82%, CR Forex Advisors MD Amit Pabari said. The dollar index, which gauges the greenback's strength against a basket of six currencies, declined 0.08% to 98.01, as markets continued to price in a September U.S. rate cut. Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, was up 0.09% at $66.18 per barrel in futures trade. On the domestic front, India's July retail inflation cooled sharply to 1.55%, marking the lowest level since June 2017. "Price pressures undershooting the Reserve Bank of India's inflation target are paving the way for more interest rate cuts this year, adding downward pressure on the rupee," Mr. Pabari said. "Amidst pressures, the Reserve Bank of India has reportedly stepped up its efforts to curb excessive rupee depreciation, selling at least $5 billion in both onshore and offshore markets this month. "While these interventions have provided short-term relief, persistent headwinds, including escalated trade tensions from higher U.S. tariffs, continue to leave the rupee vulnerable and depreciation risks alive," he added. On the domestic equity market front, the Sensex climbed 327.79 points to 80,563.38 in early trade, while the Nifty was up 112.15 points to 24,599.55. Foreign Institutional Investors offloaded equities worth ₹3,398.80 crore on Tuesday, according to exchange data.
